Salon Maddison is a full service salon, specializing in custom cuts, color and hair extensions. We have a very relaxed atmosphere, providing the highest quality of work at very affordable prices. We offer fume free mani and pedi’s, result driven skin care and facials by Hillary Bennett (over 20 years experience) and very highly regarded in her industry. We welcome new and existing clients to come in and let us work our magic on you.

History

Established in 2005.

Salon Maddison was originally owned and operated by talented stylist Taylor Kraft. It is with my vision and Taylor’s legacy that we carry the same standards in professional hair care that she strived very hard to achieve. Combined we have a total of over 20 years experience and have set the bar extremely high in Mill Valley. We are a premier salon that are setting trends and we welcome new faces to our friendly, cutting edge salon.

My passion and work in the hair industry has exceeded 10 years. Starting out apprenticing in high end salon’s through out Marin County and San Francisco, studying under extremely talented colorist’s and master hair cutter’s to achieve the highest quality of work. To this day I remain dedicated to my craft by continuous education to stay abreast of all new techniques and formula’s. I take my profession very seriously but still have fun doing it.

My roommate and I got Groupons with Quianna and she was AMAZING!!! The Groupon was so cheap. Only $ 65 for a haircut, partial highlights/​sombre and style! Are you kidding me? This is normally well over $ 150 in the city. Anyway, it was so easy making an appointment with her. We just texted and I sent her pictures of our hair beforehand and what we wanted and we discussed all of it before we got to the salon.
She took my dead looking hair and brought it back to life! She really worked magic, I’m in love with the results. I got the sombre and I wanted lighter bottoms because I already had a sort of ombré going on and she made it look great. My hair feels so soft now and looks so dimensional because of the colors she added in. She had to cut off an inch and a half and normally, I’d be so bummed out about that but with the colors she used and the way she layered it, it definitely isn’t too noticeable that it’s shorter and looks way better.

Yay Quianna! Got a Groupon and crossed my fingers, but I’m new to the area and desperately needed a haircut and something needed to be done about my over ombred hair. Quianna was so friendly and patient, I texted her a current photo plus some I-​wish photos and now my hair looks like what I had pictured in my head!
You know how sometimes you come in with a photo and you talk with the stylist, but somewhere along the line, you end up with hair that does not resemble the photo AT ALL? Well, that will not happen here. Quianna asks a lot of questions and summarizes what she’s gonna do before she starts. I love that. I like knowing where we’re going and how we’re gonna get there. And she works fast so there’s not many hours in the chair (my pet peeve).
Quianna was also happy with the results and asked if she could post to her Instagram. I said yes, and here’s what she posted. Quite a difference, huh? Hint: If your hair is fried, go for the oleoplex, it’s worth it!
I highly recommend the experienced, former San Diegan Quianna! From rat’s nest to polished in 2 hours! Woohoo!

I have been looking for a good stylist for the past year and a half. My former hairstylist moved to Union Square, and the new location along with prices a little too steep for my new retired status, forced me to start trying other salons. I stumbled onto Carla through Groupon. How fortunate I was! She has good listening skills, and I could tell after just a new snips, that she was very talented. She is also a great colorist. I’ve been back a second time and was equally impressed with her work. And she’s fun to talk with. You can’t go wrong with Carla. Book that appointment now!

I’ve been to all the high-​end salons in Marin County and finally found the best in Salon Maddison. Seriously, the best color and cut ever. The owner, Carla, understood just what I wanted and made it happen and each time I see her I hear for days how great my hair looks. Why spend double (or more) at the fancy shmancy salons when you can get a better hair experience at Salon Maddison?

Carla has been my stylist for almost a year now! My hair was in such bad shape when we first met that it took a few visits to repair previous damage but WOW! I get compliments on my hair almost everyday now. She is amazing!
I drive an hour to get to her salon but it is well worth it. She and her staff are the friendliest most professional people I know.
My hair is very important to me and I work in the beauty/​cosmetic industry so I have to keep up my appearance. Carla never ceases to amaze me!!!

CARLA FOR LIFE
Right out the gate, I knew we’d get along. Great attitude, unpretentious ambiance. Carla gave me a great –and honest– evaluation of the state of my hair and then allowed me to share the pictures I brought in of what I wanted. I believe in listening to the stylist, and Carla gave me her input on what would work and what wasn’t such a good idea for my face shape/​hair type. She couldn’t have been more right. She shaped my hair for me, not the model in the magazine, but still used all the nuances of what I liked about the styles. She’s a total hair goddess, and also someone I would go have cocktails with any day.

This was my first time at Taylor Kraft and I am sold as a wonderful customer. Carla is not just a good stylist or a great stylist… she is a wonderful human being and a hair wizard. My hair doesn’t look dyed at all, it looks like a better and more natural version of me. Carla was personal, thoughtful and made sure that the haircut looked good on me before I left the door.

Today was a great day! I finally found a new stylist after searching high & low!
Karla at Taylor Kraft Salon worked her magic & artistry on my hair — transforming my damaged, lifeless, super stressed hair into a cut that was amazing! I felt so much better after my cut, I literally had to hug her! :) My hair was a total mess since my favorite stylist retired. I tried a few other places — but always left disappointed… until Taylor Kraft Salon!
From the moment I walked in, they were fantastic — right on time, super hospitable & friendly, etc. Karla took TIME to listen & ask all the right questions. She even brought out photos to confirm we were on the same page. She found out who I was & managed to give me a cut that has style, fits my active lifestyle, and is seriously low maintenance.
Extra bonus points for the SUPER head & neck massage during the wash! Looking for a stylist in Marin? Give these ladies a try! Highly recommended!

My first experience at Taylor Kraft was with Carla and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, especially considering what I had done to myself! After trying to color my own hair at home, twice, and being turned away by several salons, I was thrilled that Carla was willing to even touch my horrible black straw hair! She gave a realistic consultation, giving me the pros and cons and offering suggestions. The end result was better than I could have even hoped for! Carla was able to break up the black box color with carefully placed highlights and trimmed the style to showcase the new and improved color! I have had Carla cut and color my hair several more times and she exceeds my expectations EVERYTIME! The salon itself is beautiful, the staff is talented and professional, and located in a great area.

This Saturday was my first time at Taylor Kraft. Carla is fantastic. The results of my color and cut were truly transformative. I never thought my curly, thin hair could look this good. It has volume. It bounces and falls beautifully back in place. The color has so much depth and the variety of dark to light I asked for. She was open to all my ideas but knows vastly more than me about what would actually look good, so she was able to steer me toward something totally awesome.
The salon is very comfortable and she is totally fun to talk to and be around. I’ll definitely be back often to get my fix of this ‘new hair’ feeling.

Taylor is amazing! Today, Taylor gave me probably the best color and cut I“ve ever had. I’ve been a client for over 20 years and I am very loyal to her. She went well beyond making my hair polished, smooth and the perfect color for someone who’s hair has become frizzy over the years. I have very curly thin hair and am EXTREMELY reluctant to have anyone cut it. Taylor knew exactly what my hair could do better then I did and I have lived with this hair for over 40 years! I now have the hair I have always wanted. Love the great cut and style and I often get compliments on the color. I have never been to a salon where the owner spent the time getting to know me and my lifestyle so that I would be happy and able to reproduce the look I left with on my own. I will definitely be back.

I’ve been going to Taylor for the past 3 years and love it. Taylor is extremely professional and knows what she is doing. I accept now whatever suggestions she will have for my hair and I know I will never be disappointed. She knows how to work on all types of hair. Every time I am there I only see «beautiful haired» people leaving the salon. Her staff is also wonderful. Celia is a great colorist and Kendry a wonderful assistant. I just love Kendry. I like the atmosphere of the place and the people who go there.

Daniel Hancock at Taylor Kraft. Daniel has been cutting my hair a couple of years. He recently moved to Taylor Kraft so this review is really all about him. Daniel does a terrific job on my hair with both cut and color. He really listens to what I want (yes, I like my gray at the temples, can we work with that, please. of course we can!). So if you are looking for a good haircut and color in mill Valley — I highly recommend Daniel!

Taylor is a rock star as is the entire staff! I’ve been going there for nearly 10 years and I would be lost without them. When it comes to color, cut & styling — they are truly mavericks! My most recent treatment was the Keratin Complex treatment and it is AMAZING! I couldn’t be more pleased with how well suited it is for my hair and lifestyle.

I have super thick, curly, usually long hair and Taylor is great. Not everyone knows how to cut super thick, curly, unruly hair but she sure does.
She reluctantly cut it short for me this spring when I had crashed my bike and broke my shoulder and couldn’t lift my arm over my head. It looked great, but now that I can lift my arm again, I am growing it back out.
