Jasmine Sushi & Thai Cuisine

Went with small group during weekday lunch. It was passed 12pm and restaurant was empty. Bad sign. Waiters seemed unprepared, but friendly.
We ordered pad thai, chicken and beef, and ordered some massaman curry chicken. Chicken and beef were all dry and lacked flavor. Pad Thai sauce was watery and not appetizing. Same with curry. Looked more like a soup than typical curry dish. Chicken pad Thai was cold while the beef pad Thai was steaming hot. Hopefully next time servers are more prepared and food is better.

Awesome food, awesome service and great prices. New place for us but soon to be regular place to go!

The food here is great! The service was quick, price was. It bad at all and the portions are huge. We had to take home a lot of food. The pad Thai and the night in Bangkok and heaven on a plate were delicious.

I’ve been coming here for years. Definitely best panang curry I’ve ever had in my life. Overall a great little hidden gem and open 7 days a week too.

This is an average Thai place that is missing the bar. I went for a business lunch and the restaurant was very slow with only two other tables, but with a 4 star rating so I gave it a try.
Upon walking in the place looks a bit dated, like it used to be good 10 years ago and it felt a little humid in side. Which doesn’t give a good first impression. Great Thai places have a nice tai chi ambience when you walk in and is inviting with fountains or nice music.
I ordered Massamung curry chicken, which on the menu shows potatoes, onions & «peanuts» in a curry sauce. Key word is peanuts, that’s why I ordered the dish. I love it at other Thai places. So my dish comes out and NO peanuts, so I asked the server «where’s my Nuts?» And he said because of peanut allergies with customers they don’t use them? But he said ohh its peanut flavor in the sauce! Me and my guest laughed and said «ohh I guess the seafood dish has seafood flavor… I’m like dude it list peanuts as an ingredient on the menu. So I felt like the waiter was lying or pulling my chain and I didn’t care for that. If your out of peanuts be straight up with me. The lunch dish also comes with a small salad or miso soup. I had the salad with ginger dressing and it was ok for a lunch portion.
My guest had the mixed garlic and pepper seafood dish and he couldn’t recognize some of the seafood, whether conch or some white looking meat. He said it was just ok.
Overall a very average Thai place that is just average and is not worth a special trip unless you are by FIU and can’t drive anywhere else.

It’s been a few years since I came back here since I used to order from them a while back while I was still a part-​time FIU student slash jobless bum. I came back now that I worked here and actually made Real Boy Money™ to see what was different.
This place basically hasn’t changed in years. They have completely average sushi options and appetizers. What always kept me coming back here, though, was their thai food. It is actually pretty good — and they will make it as spicy as you want (which, sometimes, is «insanely spicy, please send help» and I like that). This was the first place I ever had panang curry with my close friend, and it’s still really good. Their soups are also pretty okay.
Basically, come here for their thai curry options and pad thai. Sushi here is a hit or miss, but their sushi options are … well, they’re varied, at least. I’d rate this place higher if they just focused on one or the other and did it a lot better, because you can tell that the quality of both things suffers because they have to dedicate time to doing both instead of just focusing on one of the things and doing that really well. I don’t think I’d come back for sushi (there are so many better options; alas, none are near FIU). If I ever want a thai food fix at lunch time, though, it’s just a walk across 107.

Honestly the 4 star is 100 percent because of heaven on a plate .by far the best sushi I’ve ever put in my mouth .a little pricey but so good .love that place .i would go daily for it if I could afford it .good place for sake bomb. friendly service .decent college crowd

Heaven on a plate was an apt name. We enjoyed the pad thai and tarantula roll. The owner was extremely friendly and professional.

Macadamia snapper mango roll is the best sushi roll I have ever had! So feakin good. Staff is amazing, prices are giid, food is delicious, why go anywhere else. Owner operated.

Very friendly waitress. This was our first time in Miami at Jasmine’s. Server was very knowledgable and she knew what the menu offered! Food was very tasty and fresh. I usually don’t like trying new things but our sever convinced me and I ended up loving it! We came in a few minutes before closing and they welcomed us with open arms! Defiantly think this is a hidden gem in Miami!

Love this little mom and pop place. We’ve been there a handful of times and have also picked up take out. Never once been disappointed. We even took my MIL there for one random Friday dinner and she loved it.

False advertisement on the hours open. Says it is open starting 11:30am every day, yet it is 3pm and it’s closed

I’ve been so disappointed the last two times I’ve been to Jasmine’s. This was the spot back in the day for FIU students. I mean it still is but I feel like more people have been turned off by the owner’s rude attitude. I won’t mention his name.
Now you have to make a credit card reservation for a group. That’s nonsense for such a tiny neighborhood restaurant. Come on, its not like people are going crazy for a chance to eat here.
I do recommend to go here for a nice pregame with sake bombs! Cheers

My order was for take out… and the owners daughter was so nice to me. She offered me a glass of water while I waited… as her parents were speaking with a vendor to upgrade their computer system.
I ordered the Veggi Pad Thai which came with a soup or salad. The pad Thai was tasty as was the salad with ginger dressing. I will be back and next time be trying the red or green curry. It was quite there as it was before noon.
I noticed they had microphones by the flat screen tv so I assume for karaōke. The place is a little dark but it was not bad. I think they are the new owners as this establishment was owned by previous people a while back. I did suggest they could benefit from a little upgrades to the interior. But as far as the food goes I was pleased. It was fast and a good portion. I will be back to this restaurant soon.

This secret restaurant hidden behind five guys and only people that know the password can enter. The food is the best and I had sushi for 20 years and the sushi here is unique and other restaurants can’t compete with.
The employees are nice and always ready to take your order.

Tien Kue Inn is «paleo-​impossible” – seriously, what does someone have to do to get a plate of veggies here!
I came here yesterday after restarting my paleo diet, and although Japanese food is rather healthy. I thought everything here was on the salty side. I ordered what I thought would be the most paleo-​friendly meal, a 10 oz. steak with veggies, but when I asked for a full side of veggies, they told me they couldn’t do it and budged after asking them a second time but told me it would be a few dollars more. I decided not to purchase it because I feel veggies are relatively cheap and thought it was a bit pricy to pay the extra amount. This place didn’t seem like a substitution-​friendly restaurant.
When I was given my 10 oz. steak, it was food candy at the purest definition – not too heavily garnished, and the meat looked very succulent. The steak was very juicy. The only complaint I had was that I thought the teriyaki sauce on it was a little bit too salty for my taste. It tasted like oyster sauce with some salt added to it. There is nothing wrong with that, but if you are looking to eat healthy, this definitely isn’t the best choice for you. As a side, I got white rice (which I couldn’t eat), and only a few veggies – maybe three broccoli stocks, a few carrots, and some random pea pods. It was not what I expected.
Overall, I would come here if you want sushi, but if you want a healthy meal, look elsewhere. The steak is really good but salty. The owner was nice, but they definitely aren’t paleo friendly, and they need to learn how to hold off a little on the salt. The place is also dimly lit, and my table felt a little bit sticky. I think they need more natural lighting in the restaurant.
