Apache Sands Service Center in Mesa, AZ has been servicing Mesa, Apache Junction, Gilbert, and the surrounding region for more than 50 years.

We provide auto repairs, tires, and wheels for passenger cars and light trucks. We specialize in off-​road extractions and have a fleet of heavy towing vehicles (including flatbeds) for hauling commercial trucks and RVs. Our Service Department is staffed with ASE-​Certified Mechanics that can take care of any automotive repair or maintenance. We can provide automotive services for cars, light trucks, and recreational vehicles.

Apache Sands has one of the largest tow truck fleets in the East Valley capable of any towing, including off-​road extractions and heavy towing of large trucks and RVs. We have a 24-​hour a day dispatch to take care of towing anytime of the day or night, everyday of the year.

Established in 1956.

Apache Sands Service Center has seen a large expansion from its original gas station and repair shop into the business that it is today.

We are one of the largest employers in the East Valley with a full and self-​serve gas station and an automotive repair shop that takes care of the needs of cars, light trucks, and recreational vehicles. Some of the automotive services that we provide include tire sales and repair, air conditioning repair and maintenance, cooling system repair and maintenance, scheduled maintenance, and wheel alignments to name a few.

In 1964, Harold «Hal» Fredrickson, Jr. took over the business with his wife Pat when Harold Frederickson, Sr. decided to retire. The business continued to expand over the years and Hal and Pat’s kids became integral parts of the business.

Strong family values and a dedication to customer service are what make Apache Sands Service Center what it is today. Many of our employees have been with us for many years and love to provide high quality services to every customer.

Horrible service, especially from Matt in the office. He was so rude and condescending. I will make sure to tell everyone I know about the horrid experience we had at this place. I will also be placing calls to Mesa PD to ask why this company is recommended by them? Time for a change everyone…

The towing was fine. It took about 2 hours total which was anticipated. For some reason the tow truck driver felt the need to charge an extra $ 10. The driver had the phone number and name of the vehicle owner. Instead of contacting the owner of the vehicle, the driver went into the business where the car was located, and told the owner of the business he needed $ 10 to tow a car from their parking lot. Interesting, because the tow was 9.1 miles from point to point and the closest dealership. Therefore, no extra money was required. What an interesting way to get extra money from a tow.

Pretty awesome. My insurance company sent them out when my car wouldn’t start. I was literally on my way to get my battery replaced and of course my car wouldn’t start. They got out there super quick (way before my insurance company quoted), they got my battery jump started in about 2 minutes, and I was on my way. The guy who did it was nice and super quick… can’t complain about that!

Ryle and Steve really did a great Job taking care of me they got me off the side of a scary freeway 20 minutes after the call I highly recommend Apache Sands to anyone who needs roadside assistance. Job well done I am very pleased with the service and responce time.

Bad signage. One department doesn’t know what the other is doing. Waiting outside in 113 degree heat. Called earlier, they said it was one price, arrived and the price went up $ 35 because it was after hours. They needed the exact amount. None of this was relayed when we called. They could have mentioned the hours, the price difference, and needing the exact amount. On top of that, it took 20+ minutes for them to bring the car around. If you ever have you vehicle towed while you are in the hospital, do not use Apache Sands.

Completely rude staff. I was in a car accident the day before. The officer that arrived to the scene called them to get my car. The guy who showed up to tow my car was actually pretty nice. But the people in the office are another story. I couldn’t get to them till almost 4:45pm (because they are so far out there!). The very rude worker informed me that If it took him until 5 to get my info and whatnot that they would charge me a $ 46 fee to get items from my car, which would’ve taken me 2 seconds. Unfortunately I had left my registration in the car. The guy took his sweet time getting it, resulting in him not returning till almost 4:55. My registration had lapsed 6 days prior to this (which I was going to renew the night I got in the accident). But of course since they had been expired for 6 days the extremely rude man in the office would not let me get anything out of my car. Sadly my car is a total loss. My insurance is going to be selling it for scraps. He told me to pay for my tags on my total loss of a car and then maybe I could get my stuff. Who is going to renew their tags on a totaled out car? Since I now no longer have a car, I couldn’t afford it if I wanted to.
I have never been treated so badly or rudely. They should look into hiring employees that don’t have power trip issues. I would never recommend them or use them by choice.

I am currently on the phone with Cadillac Warranty support for the third time today… this call is at 10:41 pm and they are transferring me to escalations.
They are sending me to escalations because when I originally called in to warranty support they ordered a tow from Apache Sands Service Center. The tow was confirmed by text to me, with them arriving at 7:32 pm give or take 10 minutes is how the text reads.
8:23 pm I call Apache Sands, A young lady answers the phone and we determine in about 2 minutes that they have no idea about a tow scheduled. Ok, so I asked if she would call their vendor partner Cadillac Warranty and clear the issue up. long pause, then no she cant do that. Fair enough, I will call Cadillac and see where the issue lies…
Cadillac — We sent a fax with confirmation to Apache Sands, let me call them please hold… sniffle… Their fax machine was not working correctly so I [this is the Cadillac rep speaking] stayed on the line with them and confirmed they received the fax. They will be there within 1 hour. Call ended at 8:32pm
9:55 pm I call Cadillac Warranty — Tell story again (by the way retelling the story starts getting old and then I choose to tell it again here so others do not suffer!) I say please cancel the tow company from coming out to my home tonight, it is too late we need to go to sleep. I was placed on hold for a minute or two, the Cadillac rep came on the line and said they said they did not have a record of the tow (I couldn’t help but let a smile crack) She also informed me they did not seem to give it much concern. Transferred to escalations…
Just hung up, great conversation with Cadillac, their whole crew was really customer service focused. I do understand small business is rough however this low level service noted throughout multiple years it seems makes me wonder how long a tow company can operate at that level and survive…

My F350 stopped running & my roadside assistance called this company. It was after 9pm & the ETA was over an hour. I was just gonna wait but 10 minutes later Adam called & he was in my area. He worked with me to get the truck moved & on the flatbed. Extremely patient & he very helpful. I would recommend this company especially for large vehicles. My F350 dually is on the large side!

I drive a 32 foot rv. I was driving from California and noticed my RV was swaying back and forth like I was on a boat. I pulled in to a place in california at a truck stop. They could not figure out what was going on. They looked under the coach, and decided it had to be the tires. They filled up all six tires, charged me 65bucks, and sent me on my way. Sure enough, once I hit 55 miles per hour, my coach continued to sway. I stopped at another RV truck place off the road. They too couldn’t figure out what it was, but charged me 60 bucks, just to look at it. It was on a Sunday and nobody else was open, so I continue to drive 35. I reach my destination in AZ, right around the corner from this place.
Monday morning i took it to this place. The guy at the counter, said he would check it, but it sounded like the tires too. He said or it could be the Sway bar. Needless to say, he wouldn’t charge me to look at it. He went underneath it, took me with him, and sure enough, the sway bracket was broke. I felt relieved that we found it. I knew I wasn’t crazy. He ordered the part, and did the labor, and I was able to drive back to california, in peace. Mind you, he did all this for $ 100 bucks only. Anybody with an RV knows, it’s 250 bucks minimum for anything rv related.

AAA sent them to us on Thanksgiving night. Short wait, efficient loading of the car. Clean truck. Friendly operator dropped the car at the dealer and us near our home that he had to pass on his way back to base. Good ending to be thankful for.

NEVER use them for anything! Absolutely incompetent employees and management. Literally don’t expect them to be in business much longer. Terrible service. Waited for over an hour for assistance and they didn’t even have the decency to call. when I called, was told that they needed an additional 45 minutes… FOR WHAT??? Literally about 15 minutes away. Terrible!!!

I had need of a tow the other day, and my insurance company called this company. The time was set for them to be at my location at 09:15. I called to verify as per my insurance and was told yep! I was also sent a text verifying as well as giving me the position of the wrecker, which showed on the map, about 5 miles from my location. To make a long story short, the tow arrived 1 hour later, and up until I called and asked what was going on, the wrecker that I saw on the map never moved… Beware of tracking devices in your vehicles! Anyway I got my vehicle towed, the driver «Charlie» was courteous, and friendly… Yea I’d use them again…

This is for the Uhaul part of the store. I arrived on Saturday about 30 minutes early to pick up my Uhaul truck for a move. The guy said my truck wasn’t there yet but I was early so I said I would wait. As soon as I sat down, I heard him call the previous person who had my soon to be truck and asked her when it would be back and reminded her that she was supposed to have turned it in already. The person apparently said she wasn’t brigining it back any time soon.
Rather than me having to argue which you usually do when something doesn’t go right, he fixed it. He told me I could have the larger truck for the same price plus discounted the gas/​miles charges. No argument, no trying to worm his way out of it, just good customer service. He fixed it and made it worth my while for the inconvienience. I returned it to the drop box yesterday when they were closed and had an emailed invoice to me this morning bright and early.
Great customer service. They even called when they got my rental information when I booked it online and confirmed.

Called to confirm that the self-​service car wash could be used for RV. NO ANSWER to several attempts.
Then because the rig was filthy, I decided to go anyway. Got there fine but they have only one RV slot and the over head hoses caught on the air conditioner. After 15 mins of back-​and-​forth we went to buy tokens. Can’t buy with credit card and the personnel informed us that we need to buy TOKENS with 1 or 5 dollar bills only.
Asked for help but no one was interesed. Left with a dirty 5th wheel and will use a local mobil cleaning service.

Do yourself a favor, and call ANYONE else. I have dealt with dozens of tow truck companies over the years as a paramedic on the scene of accidents/​extractions, Never have I been so blow away by the rudeness and incompetence of Apache Sands Towing.
The driver, James, showed up to tow the vehicle and saw a bolt on the ground. So his opening statement was «I’m not towing this.» I explained that the bolt was to hold the negative battery cable, which I had disconnected for safety. He contrinued to argue saying it might be something else, ie– Calling me a liar.
He refused to listen to reason, I asked for a supervisor, he refused. James turned around, got in his truck, and drove away.
Called the supervisor, who informed me their drivers can do whatever they want, and they have no control over them.
I am a Firefighter/​medic and my wife is a nurse, I can’t believe they can treat public servants like this.
Just avoid this place, use anyone else.

I went for an oil change because I had a coupon, called, made an appointment with no trouble. When I arrived, Randy greeted me and was very friendly, he said it would be about 30 – 45 minutes. Having been to a multitude of other service shops that always say that (and take much longer) I was prepared to wait it out for a while. My car was done in 25 minutes, granted I still had to pay so my total time there was about 35 minutes. I was very excited about this! I was told two things that were recommended to be done on my car but did not feel pressured to have the services performed right then and there or to schedule right away. I greatly appreciated the information and education they provided me in what I needed done. That in itself made me want come back!
Great service! There was a large waiting room with 2 couches, regular chairs and a rocking chair, with separate mens & women’s bathrooms (although I did not go into the bathroom). Based on being a first time customer, Apache Sands gave a great first impression and I plan to return for future services! Hopefully the next visits I have are just as good as this one!
