Yo Mercer

Sad to see but looks like they went out of business. For Lease sign up at door. Was a very good place.

I stumbled on this place after a walk in the hot sun at the park across the street. It is located in a little strip mall by the QFC and next to Toshi’s Teriyaki. There were about 10 flavors of yogurt, many toppings and best of all, hot fudge! The gal behind the cashier was nice and polite, and the place was very clean. Plus, it seemed a little less expensive than other places I have been, and they have waffle bowls/​cones. I will be back.

Compared to other frozen yogurt shops (which I am seeing more and more of these days) this place admittedly has less flavors. However, they always have some good standbys, and the lack of variety in the yogurt is more than made up for in their abundant topping section. Yo Mercer has more toppings than other shops, and displays them in a clean environment. Unlike other reviewers I have never received poor customer service, and have always found the staff to be cheerful and accessible. If I am the only customer in the shop I don’t feel upset if the employee is in the back, provided they are available to help me once they see I am ready to pay. The location of this shop is super convenient for me, and the expiriance good.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go grab some yogurt (they’re open till 10!).

First time! My favorite was the cinnamon roll fro yo. I love their cheesecake bits. :)

the people are friendly, the place is clean, but the yogurt is runny. next time i’m driving the same distance to somewhere in bellevue or seattle where my yogurt is actually frozen.

I just got back to my office after my first time there. The flavors were nice… it’s a hot day and the yogurt tasted light and tangy — like I like it…
The thing that was a complete turnoff was the service — which essentially was… the cashier.
I asked a question about something in the fruit display… and the cashier must’ve been having a very bad lip gloss day or something… she was not pleasant or informative… she was… awful…in tone and manner.
I come from a retail background and will be finding a shop in Bellevue to frequent…
a shame since my job is 7 min away from this location.

Not sure what all the hate is about. We are talking about frozen yogurt right? Friendly service, reasonable prices, and a solid selection of favors and toppings. If you find yourself on Mercer Island with a craving for FroYo make sure to check this place out.

Nothing special about this place, the service is very poor, the last time I was there, was not offered a punch card at all, the blonde girl working was very rude and was gossiping with coworkers instead of talking to customers. Not worth the trip all the way to the south end for the quality and price.

Very average is being generous. We came in at 9 pm last night, and it was completely empty. There were no sample cups. Yogurt was watery and then when it did come, it was incredibly thick. Very poor flavoring as well.
Best news of the shop is the fireplace keeping me warm.
It is too bad as I would support a local biz in our area.

I go out for froyo a few times a week, and this place was awesome! They have such a large variety of toppings. I’ll definitely be back. My favorite flavor is the Cheesecake yogurt.

Loved that we did not have to go to Maui for a Yo experience! Loved the choices of toppings and all the flavors, friendly staff, very clean.

In terms of innovative and affordable frozen yogurt, Yo Mercer is mediocre at best. The array of toppings they have are quite entertaining, especially when I bring in the young’ns for a cold sweet treat. I like how they have caramel popcorn, nilla wafers, and all of those syrup choices.
I came in the first week they opened and loved it, so I kept coming back (LOVE their Red Velvet flavor!), but their customer service keeps declining with every visit. At our last visit, we were not greeted when we entered (one of the staff was sitting around with his friends and chatting), it took way too long to get even one sample cup, and we waited a bit too long to have our yogurt rung up (it was melting quickly) as the other girl who was working was slowly cleaning up the trays under the machines. When she finally sauntered over, she forgot where she placed my $ 20 bill and stared at me blankly, assuming I never handed her any money. I’m less inclined to come to Yo Mercer in the future, because my fro-​yo experience will honestly be better off the island.

Frozen yogurt is taking Seattle and the beyond by storm and I’ve tried pretty much all of the options. Even gone into classic ice cream shops to try their frozen yogurt offers. What I can say is that this place is okay. Without a doubt it will do well on Mercer Island. They offer six flavors at all times, tons of topping options including fresh fruit, candy, cereal, hot fudge, and other syrup toppings. That stuff is all good. But those are the things that are present at all the frozen yogurt spots that are popping up. Let’s get down to their flavors. After you get some yogurt into your cup (the machines are not that great and leave you standing for a minute or two waiting for yogurt to come out) the flavor is okay. Vanilla is vanilla and chocolate is chocolate. Recently I went and they had branched out with a Whooper candy flavor that, to me, tasted way too strongly of malt. Not my ideal cup of yogurt.
It is the only frozen yogurt option on the island and it’s fine. It’s nothing special though.
