Meet the Business Owner

Jerry Y.

Business Owner

Jerry Yang is a native of Laos. He won the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion. Jerry came from a humble, but very poor family. He and his family escaped communist invasion in the 1970s and went to Thailand for refuge. They survived over 4 years in the refugee camp in Thailand. Today, Jerry is a business owner, a philanthropist, and semi-professional poker player. Jerry has donated nearly $ 1 million dollars to various charitable organizations, including the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Feed the Children, local Boys and Girls Club, etc. Jerry has a new book called, «All In: from refugee camp to poker champ.» When you come to Pocket 8’s, be sure to ask for Jerry. He likes and enjoys saying ‘hello’ to his patrons. He is residing in Central California with his family.
