History
Established in 1976.
I’ve been performing and recording in the Bay Area with many different musical styles and festivals. I always say, if it’s good music, I’m there!
In 1984, after graduating from SJSU with a double major in Jazz and Classical Percussion, I established my teaching business first at Drapers Music, Palo Alto and then moved to Swains House of Music, now the Apple Store on University Ave Palo Alto. After Swains closed, I moved my sound proof drum booth to Menlo Park where I currently reside.

Business Owner
As long as I can remember I’ve loved the drums. As a young child my mom would have me sit in the kitchen with her while she cooked dinner and encouraged me to play along to the AM radio on her pots and pans with wooden spoons. Every Christmas or birthday, I would ask for a drumset. In fifth grade I got my first chance at school music and learned the 26 rudiments and how to read music and earned my first drumset. I was thrilled!
Since then, I’ve studied with a rudimental champion, an expert bigband drummer and have acquired two degrees in music, one in Jazz and one in Classical Percussion. I’ve been performing live and recorded in the bay area in orchestras, musicals, jazz combos, big bands. at music festivals and private party events in contemporary styles. I toured for many years with the Royal Society Jazz Orchestra. Being able to do any reading gig as well as being able to play by ear helped establish me as a dependable drummer for hire. I’ve been teaching drums for 34 years.
