One of my favorite reasons for moving to Memphis from Chicago, I this shop! I buy great shirts for my man and great one of a kind clothing for women. I wish they had more for women in the store but when they do it’s really cool! I get compliments whenever I wear something I bought from Lansky’s. I did some Christmas shopping with them and my gifts were a HUGE hit!

I have wandered into this Lansky store more times than I can count. I walk through at a leisurely pace, touching the clothes, inspecting the fabulous, artsy, fun hats, purses and shoes. And the jewelry, oh the freaking jewelry! I will hold it up to my neck or ears and fall in love at first sight. I do this because I am trying to not look at the price tags. Now, I will state on record that I am not cheap. I will pay good money for quality clothing, jewelry, shoes etc. I have no problem forking it over, because with that steep price tag usually comes a very high quality, good *insert whatever you are buying here*. Dare I say it, for some reason I feel like the quality of items located in this store does not reflect on the price tags. Sure, those tank tops and t-shirts are cute. $ 50-$ 100 bucks worth? Nope. Sorry. If you are familiar with me or my reviews– you know I have a jewelry obsession. There are few things in the way of jewelry that I can pass up. I manage to pass this stuff up every time. Though it is cute, it feels almost cheaply made. It reminds me of something you could get at Claire’s in the mall, Wet Seal, Target etc. In fact, I have seen some of the same pieces(well they looked identical, though they were probably different brands) at Target for MUCH less. Since this little shop is located in the Peabody, I have to assume they believe they can get away with pricing in such a fashion– and they do quite well as I see tons of folks making purchases every day. I feel like these purchases are reserved for the wealthier tourists that stay at the hotel and have nothing better to spend their money on. I also know how much easier it is to rationalize spending $ 50 bucks on a wife-beater styled tank top with flowers on the neck simply because you are out of town for the weekend. You can always say«Oh yes. I got THIS at the Peabody Hotel on our trip to Memphis» and wait for the applause and kudos from your friends. This store has some cute things, but I will wait to purchase any of it till it is on sale. Otherwise, I know I can find similar items at the same quality, for much less at Oak Court Mall.

It’s hip. It’s trendy. It’s über-cool. But yes, it is also pricey. I love browsing through Lansky 126. But that’s usually all I do. I have purchased a pair of True Religion jeans there for my brother. With his money and at his request. $ 400 is a little steep for me. I honestly do love the store though and visit every couple of months to check out the cute accessories, bags, t-shirts and possible sale items. They carry most of the brand-name designer jeans like Seven, AG, Mavi, True Religion and more. They have cute little coin purses and sunglass cases, and I’m just a sucker for the belts and bags. If you have a little money to spare, do yourself a favor and check out Lansky 126. You’ll find loads of cute items that you can’t find in department stores.

Large selection of hip-at-the-moment gear for young men and women. A nice, modern store in the historic Peabody Hotel, this store caters to those who have a little extra money to spend on clothing. Mind you, they carry some pretty cute things, but for the quality, I found some things to be a little bit overpriced. The slight markup may have to do with the fact that the store is in a fine hotel. I did spot some adorable gladiator sandals with a jeweled cuff for $ 98. I actually considered them for a moment, then remembered that I was short and the top of the gladiator sandal would appear to hit me mid-shin. They do have a cute, less expensive selection of fitted team shirts, like the Cubs, Yankees, Olé Miss, Vols, etc. And if you’ve been wanting one of those white, plastic banded watches with the face surrounded faux diamonds, they have those in various colors as well. Also spotted were True Religion jeans — plain and those with the bedazzled pockets. They have a pretty nice sale department, but beware, little is below $ 50 and most of the jeans are quite long if you’re more petite.
