History

Established in 1997.

Formerly Patti Howard’s School of Dance, Tracy Hannon bought the business in 1997 changing it’s name to The Dance Academy of Bartlett. Enrollment has grown 500% since, educating hundreds of Bartlett children each year. Former students have gone on to pursue dance degrees in college as well as become dance teachers themselves.

«Mrs. Tracy» began dancing at age 2 at her aunt’s dance studio. She began teaching from her kitchen at age 13. After receiving her BFA in theatre/​dance she choreographed and taught dance at The Civic Dance Company in Columbus, GA, Dotti’s School of Dance in Germantown, Germantown Community Theatre. She began dance programs at Auburn Junior High School and Auburn Parks and Recreation Department in Alabama. She was the Memphis children’s director for the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker for ten years. She has been an international judge for I Love Dance competitions. She served as the second vice president of the Southern Association of Dance Masters. She currently continues to dance and compete in ballroom/​latin dancing with Ultimate Ballroom Dance Studio.
