Anna Nail & Spa

So I went here for the first time today because I found a groupon for eye lash extensions. I used to get them done all the time in Japan for around $ 50, so I figured a groupon for $ 70 ish dollars was ok seeing that in reality it cost 100+ which is ridic. But anyways. Back in Japan I went to my eye lash ladies house and she was very professional and very quiet when setting up her station and ready for me. Fast forward to today and I’m told to lay on the bed and the lady didn’t seem ready as she put the tape on my eyes and I hear a bunch of clinking and clanking of her going through a box of stuff right next to my ears. She slammed everything and was just very loud. It wasn’t a calm environment and I felt on edge. There were only 2 workers so she picked up the phone every time it rang and had to keep starting and going. Anyways. Fast forward to when I’m done. She takes off the tape and asks me to sit up– but I find that I can’t. Why? Because the glue to my eye lashes plate was stuck to my hair– mind you I just got my hair colored yesterday and payed crazy money for that– so I was upset. She laughed and pulled it out. I was not happy. And can still feel some glue in my hair. The environment (1.5 hrs that I was there) wasn’t comforting. The eye lashes I got are ok. But there is no way in hell I would pay full price for it. I most likely won’t return as I don’t think my experience could be better.

Not to thrilled about my experience either. I chose this place because opens late. Saturday night at 630 I decided to go check out this place, as I walked in i noticed everyone was packing up to leave. I asked if they were closing and they said no they could take me but I can see they were not too thrilled.
I was confused about the pricing since they didn’t have it clearly listed anywhere. I wanted to know how much it was for a mani pedi, french mani pedi and gel. Three ppl were talking at the same time so I was still unsure. Eventually I said ok. forget it ill only want a french pedi.. no gel.
I was the only one there.. everyone left except for one lady, she did ok with my pedi but did a pretty sloppy job on the french. As soon as she was done with that she took my hands and started filing. I thought she was just being nice while my toenails were drying. Then she moves me to a table and brought over the shillacs polish. Im like no I don’t want to get that done. So then she’s like oh ill give you 5 dollars off but I refused. I clearly didn’t want to spend that much right now. I handed my card to the man and he charged it but only then did I realize I also paid for a french mani. I honestly felt that they just wanted to be sneaky and it wasn’t just a miscommunication. But I didn’t want to deal with any drama so I just let her do my nails. … and it was very sloppy again. I spent almost 60. And got a crappy set of french. Felt Pretty cheated. Never again.

Me and my sister were going to Anna’s nails for almost 2 years. We always got our shellac manicure and pedicure done in this salon. We were satisfied with service and quality. Sometimes new workers didn’t do their work well and nails fell off in a few days. However we were very loyal Customers and have never asked to redo nails for free. Before yesterday, we would give them 5 stars. However it all changed: yesterday my sister and her boyfriend went there to have their nails done. My sister (she was driving from her work at Bedford) was 15 minutes late because of the crazy traffic. Her boyfriend was 10 minutes late. My sister called John in advance and said that she was late. She was extremely surprised when he started saying «you’re always late”(no, she is never late), «you don’t come» and many other things that he was not supposed to say. Then she came and he refused to take her as walk in in a very unfriendly manner (they were not busy). Needless to say, this salon lost two loyal customers and plus we were bringing our boyfriends = 4 people. Very sad! We liked this place.

I visited for the 1^st time in a Sunday around noon and there was no wait at all. The salon is very clean and the staff was professional. However, the prices are pretty steep (I paid $ 60 for a shellac pedicure) and the prices aren’t posted anywhere. Not sure if I will be back, just because the cost is so high.

I have been going here for 4 years & today experienced the worst customer service ever. John and Tammy know me by name, yet today I felt like a stranger in their salon. I found a gift certificate my husband had given me from two years ago in a coat I was donating and was psyched! I knew it was old, but I go there regularly & thought nothing of it, confidant that John would honor the gift certificate he wrote out & signed. I was wrong. Instead I was met with hostility & back peddling… John informed me that he COULD NOT honor the certificate where as I let him know that he COULD honor it… He just CHOOSES not to.
IT IS THE LAW IN MASSACHUSETTS THAT A GIFT CERTIFICATE MUST BE REDEEMABLE FOR A MINIMUM OF 7 YEARS FROM ITS DATE OF ISSUANCE — REGARDLESS OF WRITTEN EXPIRATION DATE. (M.G.L. cc. 93, s. 14S)
This law was passed in 2003 to protect consumers. Anna’s Nails Melrose simply «stole» our money…

I am reviewing my last experience because my first one was great. I called for an appointment for an acrylic fill and a pedicure. I get my pedicure and all is fine. I hear the woman owner say something about gel fill to the woman that is doing my nails. I sit down to get my fill and the lady starts the process like normal and she goes «you want a gel fill right?» After she’s already ripped a few nails off to fix. And I was like «no acrylic.» the woman owner comes over and says «oh we don’t do acrylic anymore» and her husband, who is the other owner, makes a funny face line «uh what?» in response to her comment. I WAS THERE 3 WEEKS AGO AND GOT AN ACRYLIC FILL. Very shady. They gave me the gel for the price of the acrylic but when we were done the woman doing my nails says «oh if you don’t like the gel I’ll do acrylic next time» and I was like «uh what? She said you don’t do acrylic anymore?» And she just played dumb. I felt like I was being tricked which is a shame because the other time I went there they were great. Needless to say, I’m not going back.

I have been going to Anna Nails for two years now and will not go
anywhere else. Tammy and John are warm and
friendly but most importantly to me is their work is the best and the salon
is very clean and comfortable.
You don’t feel like a number there as I have felt at other salons.
It’s a relaxing experience and my nails look great.

I haven’t been to Anna’s after they changed management. However I’m so glad I did. The interior was redecorated and the space felt a lot less cramped than before. They have an ok color selection for manicures, but shellac is where they really shine (pun unintended). They have pretty much every color under the sun and then some when it comes to shellac. My friend got a shellac mani and that only set her back thirty dollars and as I had just gotten my nails done recently I got a gel removal and polish change for ten dollars. They also offer shellac pedicures which is not the common. Definitely worth a try!

I have been a regular at Anna’s Nail Salon for at least two years. They are located on a street that has 3+ nail salons with in walking distance. I had tried the others prior to going to Anna’s. Once I came across Anna’s I knew I had found my go to nail place.
Tammy and John run a friendly and professional nail salon. They are always cheerful upon arrival. The customer service is not the only aspect that keeps me coming back every two weeks. The quality of their work is wonderful as well. Whether Tammy, John or one of the technicians does your toes or fingers you will walk out with exceptional tips! I can’t rave enough about this place!

There are many great things about this salon. I love that they take their time and their manicures last. I like that they autoclave their tools and open the fresh package right in front of the customer. I appreciate that they are never busy when I go in and can always get my nails done. My reason for giving them only 3 stars… I absolutely hate feeling pressured every time I go in to get more than I wanted. They are always trying to get me to upgrade from polish to shellac, add on a pedi if I only want a Mani, etc… It is uncomfortable, and I absolutely hate it. If they changed their business practice, this would be a much better nail salon. For the price and the uncomfortable pressure, I’ll stick with Nails & Co. in Burlington…

I had great experience with them doing shellac manicure today, the treatment and service were perfect. They are friendly and professional. I will definitely come back. Hope those guys will do a good business!

Finally a place that does acrylic nails the way they should be done! Since I’ve moved to Boston from South Florida I’ve had the hardest time finding a nail salon that does pink and white acrylics the way I’m used to… with precision and using products that really make your acrylics last. Not only was it a relaxing environment, but the nail technician explained what she was doing. I love that! The salon is clean and the whole staff made me feel welcome. You can tell they really take their time with each and every client while respecting your time constraints… if you have any. Prices are also very reasonable. Bravo! Can’t wait to go back!

I have gone to this nail salon twice now and both times have been really good experiences. They took their time on my manicure and pedicure. The best thing is that the manicures don’t chip immediately. They last a lot longer than most other places.

i was looking for a decent place for mani/​pedi and saw this place in melrose. its almost 4 months that i have been going there regularly. the staffs are really friendly and provide the best service. my manicure remained unchipped for 10 days even though i was doing all my household works. love this place and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for best service at affordable price :)

Went to Anna’s today and had the best pedicure! My feet were really bad and I was kind of embarrassed — winter feet! — I think it had been about two months since my last pedicure. They were so nice, offering water or coffee and everything was so clean. I’m a diabetic and have to be very selective about where I go – but from now on will definitely be getting all my pedicures at Anna’s!

I went to Anna’s after seeing a friend’s shellac manicure that had lasted 3 weeks and still looked good! Every other gel/​shellac I had barely lasted the 2 weeks it was supposed to before it started peeling. I called and got an appointment for that evening. Easy to find and clean! The girl who did my nails explained things to me and was very friendly. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I got my manicure and it JUST started to peel on ONE nail yesterday. I got a light color so you can’t really tell. I could probably get away with another week, but I broke one and want it to be fixed. I’ll be calling for a mani and will continue to give Anna’s my business.

Like others I used to go to a nail salon diagonally across the street. But I realized I was over paying for fills that I was not happy with at all.
I tried to give Anna the benefit of the doubt. When I would go in there she would be on the phone the whole time. She would have it on speaker and sometimes I wouldn’t even realize it because minutes of silence would pass and then she would start talking in her native language. Now I don’t have a problem with that. But to be on the phone every single appointment the whole appointment really bothered me. Also although there is a TV in there it was never the news or something somewhat universal that everyone could live with it was always comedy shows or talent shows or movies in Vietnamese. Once in a while OK not every time. It was as if she didn’t care if she made her customers feel comfortable or not. Although in all fairness her husband always tried to make conversation and always turned the TV to something else.
Then the last straw was when I would get my eyebrows waxed. I came to realize that she was using pieces of SCRAP PAPER!!!
I now go to Angel Nails near Caruso’s pizza and am very happy with the result of my nails and their customer service.

I went to Anna before I was going on a 3 and a half week vacation in europe for a manicure and pedicure. she was very professional and nice, the store was clean, and there was no wait even though i was a walk in. the manicure lasted a good week and a half which i think is very good for a french and the pedicure last pretty well for the entire vacation, despite the fact i was in the beach most of the time! I was very impressed!

Very good manicures & pedicures that last longer than other places. Much friendler than a similiar place diagonally across the street. I like Anna and her husband a lot and go there often. She does waxing too. The place is clean. She has a big new tv too.
