The two stars are for the pita bread… besides that I probably won’t be back here.
Ordered a salad and my guess is they washed the lettuce because there was a puddle of water at the bottom of the container. When you picked your fork up the water dripped off, that’s how bad it was.
In the end me and my boyfriend ate the pita bread and through both of our salads away.

Never received anything that wasn’t delicious! I love their chicken soup, and the man who answers the phone is hilarious and make my day! Definitely recommend for fast, friendly, delicious service!

A solid pizza shop in the Melrose area!
Food: They make a really good pizza– we’ve gotten a bunch of varieties but I’m a big fan of their cheese. I haven’t ever gotten sick (as other reviewers have mentioned). My boyfriend loves their stuffed pita sandwiches, and I’ve had their chicken caesar salad. All were tasty. Also, I have a food allergy and the staff has been very transparent and concerned about making sure that everything is safe to eat. Yay!
Delivery: Granted, we’re right down the street, but we’ve never waited longer than 45 minutes for delivery. Solid stuff!
Price: Reasonable and comparable to other pizza places in the area.
Cleanliness: I haven’t been to the shop itself, so I can’t vouch for this.
Overall, I’m a happy customer! We will continue to frequent Petrone’s so long as we live in Melrose!

Petrone’s has the best pitas, pizzas, and friendly service in town. I absolutely love their grilled chicken pitas, with extra honey mustard on the side, and often get their steak too garden salad. The only complaint I have is that when I ordered the salad recently the steak tip portion was considerably smaller than usual. Still my favorite but I was definitely disappointed.

If I could give zero, I would. I got food poisoning from their cheese pizza. Spent a day throwing up and felt like crap for another 2 days.

I wish I could give 0 stars but I can’t. Food is marginal, at best, and customer service is abominable. Two of the main reasons why we’ll be choosing one of the many other pizza options in Melrose going forward.

I grew up getting Petrone’s and nothing’s changed. At least once a week I get a steak tip salad and my boyfriend gets a pizza. We are never disappointed. If I’m really treating myself, the buffalo chicken calzone is an obvious choice!

We’ve ordered pizza delivery from Petrone’s at least half a dozen times in the last few months since moving to Melrose and every time, the quality is great! Friends and family visiting have commented on the same. I love the Capricciosa with artichoke and we’re big fans of the Bianca Italiana. Delivery has always been timely and friendly.

I have no idea how this place has mediocre reviews, if your looking for take out you can’t go wrong here!
I do admit, 9x out of 10 I get something buffalo chicken related. The buffalo chicken salad is by far the best deal in town and I have no idea how they make their chicken so good. I have eaten ALOT of buffalo chicken and Petrones is at the top of my lost.
But something else that makes this place stand out even more is the staff, it’s not really necessary to have amazing customer service if your delivering pizza but Petrones has by far the best people running their store. They are quick, and extremely accommodating and so nice!
Highly recommended as I frequent there quite a bit :)

Best of the best. Love everything from the calzones to the subs to just grabbing a slice of cheese while driving through melrose. Favorites are tuna sub, steak and cheese calzone, and of course their famous buff chick calzone! Added bonus that this is also the friendliest pizza place in melrose. :)

I go here for calzones, pizza and wings. The small calzones are the best I’ve ever had. They are bigger than the large and constructed a big differently. The buffalo is amazing. The pizza is better than average and wings are very good as well. I’ve never dined in, but my order is always ready when I arrive. Great customer service goes a long way.

We’ve been testing out local pizza places to find a «go-​to» spot, and I think Petrone’s is the winner. First, the staff and owner are super friendly. Second the food has been good every time. Great place for a slice or a pizza, great sandwiches and homemade pita. Recommended.

Very standard pizza and subs. Good tuna salad sub. Made with not too much mayo. Fresh and tasty served with pickles and tomatoes.
Want to try the pizza. They’ve also expanded and now have an additional pizza oven and seating for ten.
