History

Established in 2007.

Established in 2007 as The Laser Cosmetic Center (TLC), the business was originally located in the Tysons area and focused exclusively on laser treatments — with its main emphasis on laser hair removal. With this as it’s core specialty, TLC Medispa has expanded to include a carefully chosen menu of skin care treatments like facials, laser facial rejuvenation, chemical peels, IPL and photofacials which help keep aging at bay and skin beautiful, healthy and clear. Having a significant interest in anti-​aging treatments that work (and not expensive options that don’t give much bang for the buck) the owner has not only added some more intensive treatments to be performed in-​office but has added several medical-​grade skin care lines to make sure clients are doing everything they can to look and feel their best. Recently the medical spa found a new, more beautiful home in downtown McLean, VA.

Business Owner

Jennifer completed her undergraduate degree at Smith College with a major in biology and then attended Georgetown University School of Medicine, taking a special interest in dermatology and plastic surgery. Having always had a major interest in aesthetics and an ultimate goal of owning her own business, Jennifer worked in multiple medical spas before making TLC Medispa her own. Jennifer’s background has given her an extensive knowledge of how the body works and therefore how to keep it in its healthiest and most beautiful condition.

I was referred to TLC Medusa after inquiring about the best place to receive skin care treatment. I am currently in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy and have suffered from acne as a result. Kelly was FANTASTIC. She is super sweet and gentle. She is sure to listen to your desires and goals. The experience itself is very relaxing and the products they use feel so great on your skin. I was fortunate to be able to interact with Jennifer as well, before and after my treatments. She was great! I highly recommend this Medispa.

Been going over 3 years for laser treatments and touch-​ups. Jennifer and her staff have never let me down. Always friendly, accommodating, professional and they make you feel super comfortable and answer all your questions. They are very honest about what results you should expect according to your skin and hair. During treatment, you never feel rushed.
The office area and treatment room are beautiful and spotless and they always have deals going on. I totally 100% see lifetime results and I can’t ever imagine going anywhere else. Highly, highly recommend.

I HIGHLY recommend TLC Medispa. I tried them out several years ago for laser hair removal on one small area. I was so delighted with the results that I kept returning for other nuisance hair I needed removed, including most recently full legs. Before your first appointment, they will talk you through what to expect, answer all of your questions, and advise you on caring for your skin after the treatment. At subsequent treatments, they’ll ask details about your skin and hair, then make any adjustments as needed.

Every appointment, I’m greeted on time. Rooms and equipment are clean. I’ve had several technicians over the years (mainly Kelly and Jennifer), but no matter who I see, they are knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and on top of every detail. Treatments are effective — for each of my treatment areas, I began seeing notable results after just one session.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. If you’re in need of laser hair removal or even just starting to consider it, this is the place to be. Not having to shave unwanted hair or nick sensitive areas ever again — well, that just speaks for itself.

I have been a client of TLC medi-​spa for around 5 years and I have never experienced anything but wonderful service. The spa offers laser hair removal and skin care services that can be purchased online, over the phone or in the shop. They also run specials where the services are discounted making them attainable for the average working woman. The spa is run by a woman named Jennifer who is so knowledgeable, relatable and genuinely kind. She explained the entire laser hair removal process to me, answered all of my questions, made sure I was at ease and knew exactly what to expect. Being comfortable is so important to me, especially when I have to get undressed for certain services. Jennifer organized my appointments and maintained contact with me to ensure that my visits were scheduled according to my hair growth cycle. She adjusted my appointments as needed by either grouping them closer or farther apart to ensure that I received the most effective treatment for my hair type. I am very pleased with my results and I honestly believe that laser hair removal was one of the best things I’ve done for myself.
I began receiving skin care services from Kelly, the wonderful esthetician at the spa, in April of this year and I am in love with my skin. I get an amazing facial every month and Kelly works so hard to make sure that I leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and blackhead free. She takes copious notes after each facial so that she knows exactly what to do next time. When she sees me she always takes time to discuss any skin care concerns that I may have prior to beginning my facial and adjusts my facial as needed to address those concerns. She recommended several products and put me on a régime that is effective and maintainable. This is a must for me because if it takes longer than two minutes to clean my face in the morning and at night realistically I’m not going to do it. Now I get so many compliments on my skin and people constantly tell me my skin looks 5 – 7 years younger than what it actually is.
Kelly also tints my lashes and maintains my eyebrows. When she began working on my brows they had several thin spots from over arching. I was concerned that they may not grown in but I can honestly say that after a few months those thin spots were gone. Kelly keeps my brows groomed with a arch that follows the natural growth pattern of my brows. I won’t let anyone touch them but her.
I am so amazed at the services that are offered at TLC-​medi spa and I recommend this spa all the time. Jennifer and Kelly are a wonderful pair of women and they are passionate about what they do. Their level of passion shows in their work. I promise you won’t be disappointed with any of their services.

I have been going to TLC Medispa for over a year and am very pleased with the results. My technician, Kelly, is very professional and thorough and my experiences there have always been positive. I am received promptly, never having to wait, and the treatment room as well as the remaining Spa is clean and welcoming. They were very honest and upfront about the type of results I would see according to my skin and hair type and other factors as well. I am still in the process of my treatment but I have been educated and informed as to what to expect and am realistic about the final outcome and time required to get there. No worries because the owner Jennifer always runs great specials that makes it affordable and convenient.
