These guys were great! Ed came out on very short notice, and provided a quote (fair price) in less than 24hrs. He was friendly and knowledgeable, so easy to work and had answers for everything. On the day of the move Corey and Bryan came out at 8am sharp, friendly and prepared as can be. They were very courteous and helpful in so many ways! They were efficient and mindful of how they handled all of my furniture and belongings. A great group of folks, I highly recommend them!

I bought a mattress from these guys (they have a furniture business next door). Got a killer deal on a brand name mattress. I also loved the fleet of Jetta TDIs in the lot.

Waters did a great job from beginning to end moving contents of a 3400 sq ft home in two days. Great attitudes and making it work even when we needed a few minor changes. Crew was hard working and respectful. Highly recommend!

The first time I used them, I made a smaller move and they did really well. So I called again for a bigger move, and the disaster I’m now sitting in is overwhelming. I tried calling them about it and got no response. They broke an antique chair, grabbed a box of critical medication and tossed it randomly into some box I can’t find now and did not correctly reassemble a very large piece of furniture they took apart. Large enough that I can’t correct it myself.
I will say, the guys really worked hard and were professional. But the way the move was handled was ridiculous. They sent about 12 guys into a tiny, 2 bedroom house and had it emptied in a whirlwind short amount of time. So fast we didn’t even have a chance to grab things like medications. Then they sent only 4 guys up to the destination to unload 2 large trucks. Those poor guys were so exhausted when they got done that they couldn’t wait to get out of there and ended up just dumping stuff where ever they could find a spot. They also put a nice big scratch in my brand new wood floor. They were NOT careful with any of our belongings.
Now, weeks after the move, I realize they broke many, many irreplaceable antiques that they swore up and down they could move safely, and my stereo and a piece of medical equipment have been stolen. I guess all I can do is file a police report. I will file a report with the Better Business Bureau as well.
I called 4 times and nobody would return my call. On my 5^th try, I got a hold of a manager who told me they weren’t responsible and that she would call me back and never did. The level of unprofessionalism at this company is unreal. And to think, I know the owners sister. I’m embarrassed to say anything to her since she helped start the company.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE TERRIBLE!

Great movers polite and well mannered. Customer service goes above and beyond to assist you. Linda and Robin were always available to answer questions and lead us to a great move. You need movers call them the movers are great and so is customer service.

Waters moving did a great job of getting our belongings out of storage and unloading it into our new condo. Nary a scratch on the walls or door jams and they were efficient and polite and very professional. Highly recommend them!

We were trying for 4 days to get them to call us back to book the move and no call back. We sent emails to Robbin and Ed but they were ignored. I called and left messages for 4 days!!! By the time Ed graced me with a return call he tells me they are booked. No regret or sincerity in his voice. Horrible.

Awful, awful, service. Ridiculously huge bill for no reason, slow, and unprofessional.

I was extremely disappointed in the cost, the breakage, the removal of personal property, and the lack of caring by Linda in resolving the issue for our customer. Our mutual customer felt «insulted». The sales rep, Douglas, promised we would be «amazed». We were not. This company did not accept responsibility for their actions, nor did they respond to my request for a resolution in writing. It seems as if they do not need, or want, my office’s referral business of hundreds of customers. All that was being asked for was fair compensation for a slow move. Instead, it appears it is the customer’s fault. As I type this on 5÷13÷2015, I have already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and let my office co-​workers know what happened.

Very unimpressed with their service lately. No loyalty or discounts to repeat customers.
We have used Waters for 4 different moves in the last 6 years (yes we move a lot) plus we have used them for storage on a few occasions between moves as well. Up until our last move with them 6 months ago, I would always recommend them, but never again. And in my line of work, I deal with people moving everyday, so they are losing a bunch of referrals from me.
Their moving charges have gone up considerably since we had moved a few years ago. I didn’t complain to the manager when a couple of the workers got high on their break (although I probably should have) and I didn’t complain when a couple of my China plates and glass panes to my pictures broke during the move. But this last time we used them, we put some stuff into storage with them, and moved two towns over into a temporary rental, while we completed construction on our permanent home 1 block away. We told them last fall that we would be moving again soon. When we finally ready to make our last move with them, my husband called to get a quote. The cost to move around the corner was over double what we paid a few months ago, and from what I understand, moving companies typically charge less during the «off season» moving times of January/​February than during the summer, and less when you move during the week than on a weekend (we moved on a Friday). I was appalled and pissed off that they quoted this much to a repeat customer. Needless to say, we used a different company for the move and half the cost. But we were also stuck now with a little bit of our stuff in storage at Waters too. My husband called to arrange this to be delivered to us today and was quoted $ 100 delivery fee only, as it’s not much stuff, they were just delivering it. They dropped it off this morning, took them 20 min to finish unloading it to the driveway, not even moving it to the house. When finished, I was handed a bill for $ 465 since they now require 3 hr min for moves! Never again will I use them or refer them to anyone. They have no loyalty to their customers

Ken showed up a week before the move to do a inspection and remind me of all the necessary items, Linda was in constant contact checking in because our move date wasn’t set. Then on move day a guy showed up (I forgot his name — sorry) and did a walk through. When the crew of 8 arrived it was go time! Out of the old office in under 3 hours!
We moved our entire company 4 blocks in downtown Oakland, with not a single issue!
They had to deal with downtown traffice, one way streets, some rude parking people, my co-​workers and then unpacking on a busy corner when its time to get off work.
There were a few broken items that they fixed on the spot.

We’re in the middle of a major move to Hawaii and enlisted Waters to move the contents of our home into the 20′ shipping container. Although the shipping line recommended a 20 footer, we quickly saw we need a larger size! Yet, Mike and Jay under the direction and keen eye of Frank were able to use their experience and skills to load 90−95% of our belongings! Ed came by during the move and offered storage services, if needed (but it wasn’t).
The company’s experience level and customer service helped ease much of the tremendous stress typical of a big move. Thank you Waters and team and I would highly recommend this company to anyone in a similar position.

We purchased used cubicle workstations and had them parted out and in storage for months while we worked on the approval red tape (city government!) — once we got the «go ahead», Water’s got the job done in a day. Paul worked with me to figure out the configuration and located all the parts needed — and then moved extra pieces to another storage facility — all within the time and price quoted. No surprises! We will be contacting Water’s Moving again when we start phase 2.

Thanks to Waters moving !! Juan and his crew moved me into a 3^rd floor apartment (no elevator) yesterday. All i can say is «wow» amazing job! The crew made the move a pleasure. Prompt, professional and never a complaint about all the stairs. Thank you, thank you, thank you !!! Waters moving deserves more than 5 stars and i highly recommend them.

I just used Water’s to move my 40 year old manufacturing company from one facility to another. Much like any other « Unilocaler» you skip all the good reviews and start reading the bad so you know what to expect; please take a second and read a good review, because all the negative ones made me nervous and made me question if i made the right decision and gave me a lot of anxiety for nothing. So please read from a seasoned mover.
This was the best move I have had ever. I have moved 7 times residentially in the last 7 years for work, this was my first commercial move. After acquiring a forty year old manufacturing company, I needed to upgrade facilities; I’m sure you could picture the headache moving a company like this would be. Ken (the owner) and his associate came to my office and gave me an estimate. Assured me everything would be ok, that they had my back. Family run, San Franciscian, and local business I like to support.
They delivered amazing tote boxes that stack and wheels to move them around. What a breeze that was. My anxiety kicked in when I realized that my machines could get damaged. Called the amazing Linda on the phone, who is a saint, and she kept assuring me that everything would be taken care of. Permits, trucks, and men. They also came by again a couple of days before the move to make sure they were going to have an adequate amount of people and power.
The day of the move will always be a highlight for me. 15 men showed up with four trucks. There were three point people. The headman in charge, Juan, who I cannot thank enough, made sure that there was a special moving truck specifically for my machines that he drove himself to assure their safety and watched as they moved them out. Alex, one of the other point people was incredible in making sure everyone was moving and getting things out. I didn’t touch a single thing. Jamie (Pronounced Himaie) was another point person, and was there to break the cutting tables and everything down. What a well oiled machine this company is.
We hit a couple snags with how the tabled were breaking down. Juan and Jamie called me over and before they said anything told me «whatever you want, we will make it happen», then we figured out the best solution. My factory was completely cleared out within 2 hours, my mind was blown.
They were so amazing I brought lunch in for them, since I didn’t realize that most moving companies don’t bring it with them. So if you have a large move, great way to show how grateful you are, which I was. They were great group of guys, very diverse, and all excited to help. They were passionate about what they did, and delicate with everything they touched.
At the new facility they immediately got back to work after lunch. Built up all of my tables and made sure that everything was perfectly in place the way that I wanted it, and didn’t leave until they did. They cleaned up behind themselves and made sure to take the trash out themselves.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. They are the best moving company I have ever used. Hopefully this truthful review helps you in your decision. Needless to say that it always helps when the owner calls you a couple days after to see how you made out and to say good luck to your business.

We were thrilled with our recent move from Walnut Creek to Oakland.
Ed came to do the estimate and was thoughtful, friendly, accurate and flexible (it would be a long day for the crew and we had a very small window of time to move into our new place).
On the day of the move Jesse, Toki and Faustino arrived on time. They listened carefully to our instructions and began work. They worked tirelessly and efficiently in the hot sun of Walnut Creek and packed up our home of 18 years.
They stopped at the storage locker we had rented and deposited our belongings neatly and thoughtfully in the locker.
We arrived at our new Condo building on time to move in. It was a long walk from the truck on the street to the elevator, down the hall and into our condo. The team worked hard, displayed care of our possessions (nothing was broken at all) and did the work with good cheer (no matter how tired they were).
We highly recommend them. We could not have asked for more — the right team, with the right care, at the right price. I just wanted to write and let you all know that we felt lucky at the end of the day (thanks again to Jesse, Toki and Faustino).

Waters moved me from one apartment in Oakland to another, a few blocks down.
At the time, I was very impressed by the quickness with which these three guys cleared out of my apartment (I packed it all myself, they just moved it), not to mention how conscientious and proactive they were.
However, a couple weeks after the move, I am finding more and more of my pristine dark wood furniture dinged up and scratched (not to mention the top of my brand new microwave). I’m extremely disappointed and really upset that everything looks so crappy now. I guess that’s the price you pay for speed. I had used Waters before and been very happy with the results; but this was definitely my last time.

Waters Moving moved my office and we are very happy with the experience.
Had two bids pretty much the same number but Waters offered to give us «totes» which we thought were bags to put everything in, instead of boxes. A few days before the move, 70 «totes» arrived and they were solid plastic bins, in red, with lids and a handful of sheets of labels so we could designated where they were to go. Brilliant!
Instead of loading things into what can be flimsy cardboard boxes and then having to tape them up, our stuff whether hard and heavy stone samples or fragile wood models were thoroughly protected in the tote, and no taping! Just snap the lid on. And they stack easily and don’t crush under weight — my own office had 3 totes stacked in it when I arrived and quickly emptied them in no time. No cardboard boxes to open, try and keep the lid flaps out of the way, nothing crushed or broken even if I had just a few things in one tote.
Waters’ service was equally smart. At least five or six movers showed up with a clear foreman to organize them. They were all smart and easy to communicate with and moved my office in three hours instead of the five estimated. They protected the main building hallway with masonite and protection cardboard. The price was as agreed upon and we were very satisfied.
They had to take some items to my home and that was handled seamlessly — the driver and mover notified me the moment they were to take off so I could call my wife to be ready — very easy. I recently moved from house to another with another moving company and it was a somewhat stressful experience — the opposite was true of working with Waters.
By far the best move I have ever done.

Water’s Moving and Storage moved several large pieces of furniture, appliances, even our chicken coop and goat with speed and extreme efficiency.
