We had two estimates prior to my husband husband meeting Steve, all were referred via Thumbtack. My husband was very impressed in how very thorough he was when obtaining the measurements. He discussed the installation process in detail and was very professional. He knew his business and we gave him ours.
The installers came out a little over a week from agreeing to his bid. The office is staff is AMAZING! From my first call with Lisa who didn’t hesitate to answer my questions, to Laura (I think it’s Laura) and Omg I totally forgot her name, it starts with a D!!! Aaaahh, forgive me sweet lady but you were also amazing to work with! They set everything up and called me the day before the install just as a reminder. Jose and his team of 2 completed the job in a day (approx 490 sq ft) and did an awesome job! It was perfect. I did have just a slight issue with the gap between the floor and our fireplace. I called the office and mentioned it to Lisa and said it probably isn’t a big deal. But she said she would have Jose come back out to take a look at my concern, anyway. He did. There was nothing he could do as far as the gap because of the bricks being uneven but he did fix it by simply caulking the gap with the same color as our floor. Can’t even tell there is a gap now.
Like I’ve said in my past reviews, I don’t often write one unless it’s well deserved. This one is very well deserved. I was hoping though, that Steve came out to check on the final work just like I’ve read in other reviews. It just would have been the cherry on top. But I’m sure he’s a busy man.

We were extremely happy with SW Contractor Flooring service, their installers, and their overall company attitude. Measurements and estimates were correct and schedulers were accommodating and fit us in right away. As for the installers, they did an excellent job! Not only were they courteous and professional, they were also willing to come back to do additional work after our QR get shipped. They are the best! We are very happy with the results — our floors, stairs and boards look beautiful.

I am so happy with our new floor installed by S.W. Contractors. The staff and installers were very experienced and courteous. They took my living room which had a warped uneven floor and corrected it completely before installing our new bamboo flooring. I would highly recommend using S.W. Contractors.

We were extremely happy with their service, their installers and their overall company attitude. We had an on-​going problem with the floor (had to stay in a hotel for weeks!) that had to be fixed before we were able to have the wood installed so we had to keep postponing the install with SW. They could not have been more helpful and understanding of our problem and kept in touch to see how we were doing. Their estimaters were great and when it came time to actually schedule the install, the schedulers were so accommodating and fit us in right away. As for the installers, they did an excellent job! Not only were they courteous and professional, they were also willing to come back to do additional work after our tile was installed. They are the best! Great service and installation. Our open living-​dining room was expertly completed in one day. Everyone that we dealt with in this company was friendly and professional, and their price was about one-​third of another estimate we received. Very happy with their service. We recently had wood floors installed and the owner Steve personally came by before the project began as well as towards the end the project to ensure quality control and to make sure that we were satisfied. When a few smaller items were noticed by us a few weeks later, his team came out to address them. We are still in contact with Steve and he has offered to address any future needs that we may have.
We have gone through this process with other contractors for tile work, etc. that was done around our house and rarely does anyone come over to inspect the work and stay in touch with us throughout the process. Usually the company sends someone over to do the measurements and then, other than the workers, you’ll never see them again. Needless to say that we are pleased with the quality of work performed by SW Contractors and with the level of oversight and quality control. I will recommend them to friends and clients alike!

I used S.W. Contractors Inc this past week for a 800 square foot downstairs floor. This was a difficult instal due to some room transitions. The floor looks awesome. S.W. staff and specifically Debbie were easy to reach, totally accountable and maintained accurate and timely communications during the project. For those of you who don’t have time to read through this review, the bottom line is that S.W. Contractors will provide you with the best flooring installation. Look no further, because you will love what they do, and the way they do it. If you want to know why, read on.
Successful projects come from careful planning and execution. But even the simplest jobs can get complicated fast, and in the real world, few projects can be completed without solving unforeseen problems along the way. Remodeling can be overwhelming, and sometimes a big source of frustration because, as homeowners, we are not renovation professionals, and that makes us utterly dependent on the contractors we hire.
So when we started remodeling our home, we looked for contractors with the trade skills, and the people skills, to quickly solve issues as they came up, without asking us to compromise our expectations or our vision.
We needed to replace 3500 sq. ft. of carpet and tile with 2000 sq. ft. of bamboo on the ground floor and 1500 sq. ft. of bamboo and carpet on the second story, and S.W. Contractors came recommended, but they also responded with a great estimate and schedule.
Demolition was fast and unexpectedly clean. But as we progressed we discovered our sub-​floor was too uneven to lay new floorboards without leveling (in the family room the corners were two inches lower than the center of the room). The installation crew responded quickly and efficiently, leveling the entire ground floor of the house, without extending the schedule. They fit a difficult curved staircase, took care of all the small punch list items as they came up, and educated us on the right care and treatment of the new materials. In short, they met our high standards without compromise, and the results were outstanding – better than expected.
Bottom line is that they did everything exceptionally well, with rigorous attention to detail, and they did it all with a positive, can-​do attitude. The whole team was a pleasure to work with, and the entire job looks, and feels, just great.
Steve Wald clearly built his business on a ‘customers-​come-​first’ foundation. From the front office to the installation crew, everyone is driven by the same customer service culture – measurers and estimators, scheduling, project management and installation – they are a unified team of skilled pros, and they support each other to give you the best results possible.

Great job on our hardwood floors. Jesus worked 12 hours straight to complete two rooms in one day. Great communication and coordination with the retail store (Lumber Liquidators) and plenty of reminders of the install date and preparation tasks.

Debbie in customer service is very organized, polite and quick to respond to questions and requests. Saul and his crew did a great job on our wood and ceramic floors. I had discussed with him exactly what I wanted the final design to look like and he made some suggestions on how to make it happen.
I felt there was a bit of a lack of communication between the installers and the office; as well as the installers and me the client. If I hadn’t checked in every morning they would’ve finished the job without calling me at all, and there were a few things that I had them correct.
Overall I am happy with the job they did and the price compared to some of the other bids we got. We ended up running out of the stair molding because we underestimated the length that we needed; SW sent Saul out again 2 weeks later to finish those few steps.

I found SW Contractors through Lumber Liquidators.
I was told that all I had to do was call SW and they would send someone out to provide a free installation estimate along with a complete list of materials needed to complete the job. I went a week or two because each time I tried calling, no one would answer. I figured they were busy and continued to try them back. Once I did get a hold of the office staff, the representative on the phone was very nice and got me set up for an estimate the very next week. The guy that came out for that estimate was on time, patient with all my questions, and very kind. I immediately felt comfortable.
I waited about a day or two for the estimate to come through and then my boyfriend and I decided to move forward with this company. After we signed the contract, we were told that we needed to go purchase the material and then call back for the install date. So the first free day we got we headed over to Lumber Liquidators to purchase the materials (materials had to be purchased through Lumber Liquidators … not anywhere else). Once we had all the materials we were ready to make the install appointment. We did have to wait about 3 weeks, but this was ok with our time schedule.
On the day of the install we were given a time window between 7 — 8 AM, but told that it would likely be right at 7 AM considering their crew really close to our home. On the day of the appointment, the installers arrived at 8:10 AM. No biggie, but kinda funny considering all the ladies in the office reiterated the 7 AM start time.
The installers were OK. They barely spoke any English and when there was a snafu with the bathroom installation I was getting a little frustrated because 1) the estimate guy was aware of the original flooring and assured me they could handle the job and 2) the installer was speaking to me in both English and Spanish … and I don’t speak Spanish. I immediately called the office to see what was going on and they were able to communicate with me the situation and although I wasn’t super happy at the time, they did everything they could to make the situation a good one.
The installers completed the other work and were going to come back and finish the problem room once I addressed the bigger flooring concern with a general contractor. As it turns out the general contractor just completed the entire project so I didn’t need SW to complete that anymore. I called to let them know what was going on, but since I had the left over unused material and a closest that needed flooring I asked that they install the flooring in the closest instead. SW Contractors was able to make this change and got me on the schedule at their first opening.
All in all, we had a positive experience with SW Contractors and would use them in the future and recommend them to friends and family.

Excellent craftsmanship and planning by Sal and Tony. Real attention to detail with great layout suggestions. Debbie has been wonderful to work with and very responsive. The job was done on time and in a professional manner. It was the most pleasant renovation job I had to go through compared to other projects.

Horrible experience. Installers came late EACH day, took long lunches, and mostly did not speak English. Also brought a female cousin from Mexico to learn the trade. What should have only taken 2 days turned into 3 days ending finally in the evening and then there were mistakes to be corrected in the flooring. To SW credit, they sent an installer back to repair those mistakes. But what a nightmare.

WARNING!!! We are seeking legal counsel against S&W to get roughly $ 20,000 of repair work covered from damage their contractor did to our new home! Do not let these people set foot in your house! I do not usually write Unilocal reviews but we felt we had to warn people. About 20 door and cabinet frames cut way too high off the floor that needed to be filled with bondo by our painter, gaping holes in the floor where wood lines up with columns and door frames, crooked boards that had to be ripped up, baseboard and trim put out under our sprinklers, doors locked in because they were not removed before the floor was installed. Our 4 million dollar home looks like crap. They refuse to be responsible for their damage. Steve would not respond to our phone calls and never even came to the job site until the damage was done. These people should have their license pulled.

We had SW install carpeting in our home. I received several phone calls confirming the appointment and a call on the day that the carpet was to be installed. The installers were on time, clean, and professional. Not only was the work completed quickly, but they did very clean work, which included vacuuming the new carpet and hauling away all the carpet scraps.

If you rely on Unilocal reviews to decide which flooring contractor to use to install your floors, then consider carefully this review. S&W is as good as it gets. Their professionalism goes without saying. No, it’s their pride in workmanship that inspires my words. I hired S&W to install hardwood on my stairs. The results were phenomenal. My home flooring was not the easiest to install, but S&W got it done with quality craftsmanship, meticulous detail, and world-​class customer service. From the office staff to the contractors, Steve Wald (owner of S&W), has his team working like a fine Swiss watch. I could not be happier with my beautiful new floors and S&W.

S.W. did an awesome job! They were prompt in getting back to my initial inquiry, doing an estimate, and doing the installation. The installers did a phenomenal job. The were communicative about every step making sure that my needs were 100 percent accommodated! I highly recommend them!

From our initial meeting, Steve Wald worked hard to ensure that we got the right kind of product to suit our lifestyle. Once the work was completed he continued to follow up. It’s rare that the owner of a company is as conscientious from start to finish (well after he’d been paid). We did actually have a couple of issues, and he was quick to ensure that these were taken care of to our satisfaction. You get the impression that everyone at SW Contractors — from owner to office staff to the guys doing the actual laying — enjoys working there. A happy work force makes for happy customers! I would not hesitate to use them again.

Steve and his team at SW Contractors installed my engineered hardwood floors throughout my first floor beautifully. It took a lot of fixing from the previous poor install five years ago… SW had to try three fixes before it finally worked — unlevel floor, old tiles, concrete slab that hadn’t been sealed correctly so adhesive would not hold, etc.
Communication from the office and the installers was perfect. They were so easy to do business with. I almost missed their smiling faces after a painful three week install. But the work is exceptional and looks fantastic.

Our floor job had a couple of set backs due t8 a kitchen remodel /​funeral. S&W adjusted the schedule accordingly to accomodate our time issues. Cudos to Jose and Carlos as they did a fantastic job. They were able to save us money by omitting the use of some trim pieces where the remaining carpet was tucked under the flooring rather than covering it with trim. It looked much better. Just a follow up, Debbie from S&W contractors is a joy to work with, she is persistent and careful choosing her words when speaking to clients which is a plus for this company. she listened to me for 30 min and said they would like to hire a person with experience cleaning oil stains and I agreed, this person was top pick in my book, he new what he was doing and how to use the tools to get the job done. Give them a try, but be fair with them and stand your ground if scheduling issues arise and they don’t work for you tell them, let the burden be on someone else

They are the best! Louise and his team were so helpful ensuring requirements were done right. He has so much knowledge, and his brother also recommended the doable solution for our uneven foundation; it was all because of SW.
Laura is so quick answering questions and coordinating everything.
And Steve, he was so knowledgeable estimating all the requirements and sending quotes to me.

If you are looking to get hardwood floors installed come here. The installer Luis is amazing. Laura in the office keeps you updated regularly and they stand behind their work. If something goes wrong they fix it. Great service after the install as well. Hire these guys you won’t regret it.

I can’t say how happy I was with the results of SW. They were on time and did a great job putting the flooring in. When they were done the clean-​up was of the highest standards. I would use them on a future job.

SW Contractors installed our new bamboo floor for lumber liquidators about a month ago. They did a great job and we really love our new floor. They were also very careful to make sure the sub-​floor was level and flat before installing the wood floor. While it cost a bit more in a change order the final installation was very good and the floor is very quiet and beautiful.

We recently replaced the carpet in our living room with vinyl floors and the job that guys from SW contractors did was great, instead of 2 days they did it in one full day, because of the big area and 3 hallways i did not think it was possible, but they did a great job, very professional and we like the way it looks and feels.

I had met with a few flooring companies before finally deciding on SW Contractors through Lumber Liquidators’ third-​party referral program. I was skeptical as they are the only contractors Lumber Liquidators refers to but I can understand why they maintain that referral relationship: SW Contractors are top notch.
Our job was an involved one as we were ripping out tile and carpet throughout our downstairs and putting down hardwood in the kitchen, living, two closets, hallway, bathroom and entryway. Steve came to the house and was able to give a detailed (and pretty competitive) quote right then and there.
We had some tight scheduling issues as I wanted the rest of the family out of the house for the install. Laura, the business/​office manager, worked with me to get our project scheduled on exactly the days I needed.
The crew of three arrived and immediately got to work. By mid-​morning, they already had ALL the demo done! Jose, William and Eduardo were fast and meticulous — even taking extra (unexpected) steps to minimize the mess (which, if you’ve ever removed tile, you know there is a LOT of mess!) They hauled away all of their waste when they were done, too and even kept their work area neat between project days– something I didn’t expect but really appreciated.
I LOVE my new floor. We went with the taller baseboards as Steve recommended and the finished product is gorgeous, contemporary and SO clean! Laura was even helpful in getting some questions answered for me after the install was finished and emphasized that they would be more than happy to come take a look at anything should I have any concerns.

I had an excellent experience with S.W. Contractors. I had never used a floor contractor before and had numerous questions. Their phone service was excellent and they were very patient with me. Laura was fantastic in working with me including getting a proof on insurance with an additional insured that my condo required. Leanne provided a great assist too while Laura was on vacation.
The actual installation was done by Sylvester and he got the job done in less time than was originally estimated. He clearly knew what he was doing, had an excellent attitude, and paid fine attention to detail. Even when my painting contractor came in right afterwards, he commented how professional the floor installation job was.

I purchased my carpet through LOWES and had the carpet installed by SW Contractors a few weeks ago. Not sure how they communicate with the person who did the carpet measurement. I was very shocked when they informed that the carpet was not adequate for installment with seams. So the installment will have a gap between the carpet for the bedroom and the carpet for the closet. They said the gap would be invisible as it would be covered up with the closet rail.
IMO they just did not want to do the extra work of seaming the carpet. I had to call LOWES and told them that I never wanted to such a gap from the beginning. I did mention about this during the carpet measurement. In the end, they were able to install without any problem. They even had extra carpet for me to keep. Weird … after they said it was not enough.
The installation went well. They vacuumed the carpet after the installation. However, they did not install the existing bracket to cover up the joint between the carpet and the laminated floor. Their argument was that they were not prepared with the glue for laminated floor as they were not informed about installing such a bracket by the carpet inspector. They also did not put on the aluminum bracket to cover the joint between the carpet and the tile to the bathroom.
LOWES’s said that I must purchase the aluminum brackets separately. Well … why didn’t they say so from the beginning when I mad the purchase. HOME DEPOT contractors immediately install the aluminum bracket without I even asked for it.
