Joy In Birthing

Giuditta has made one of the most important days of my life, the birth of my first child, truly one of the most amazing experiences ever. I cannot even express into words how much my husband and I love her and what a godsend she is.
She was at my side immediately when I knew I was in labor for sure, and it was such a night and day difference as soon as she came over. She completely managed my contractions to the point where I stopped feeling pain and fell into a calm state of mind. When we arrived at the hospital, Giuditta completely took charge and handled all the nurses & staff for us at Cedars because when you’re in labor, you just don’t know what’s going on. Everything becomes a blur. Giuditta was our voice & our guide, and made sure nothing unnecessary was being done to me and that I was laboring in the best & most comfortable way possible. She incorporated effective breathing techniques, massage, aromatherapy, homeopathy, acupuncture points, & made sure my energy levels were up.
I felt truly empowered and am so proud that I achieved a relatively short, and natural childbirth without any drugs or medical interventions. This just wouldn’t have been possible without Giuditta. She also made sure my daughter successfully breastfed from the second she was born. My husband and I thank our lucky stars to to have her as our Doula, and we look forward to each of her incredibly informative post partum visits as well! She is an expert with babies and has a deeply nurturing connection with infants. We have recommended her to all our pregnant friends, and I will absolutely without a doubt use her for my next pregnancies. I am actually looking forward to giving birth again, and again :)

Giuditta is a god-​send. She was our birth doula and post partum doula. She ushered our little angel in with such incredible care and love. She taught us so much about the birthing experience. She changed our perception: we were able to shift our beliefs from fearing and seeing giving birth as a painful experience to one that can be and is filled with wonder– a miraculous and beautiful experience. We learned excellent breathing methods, a lasting mindfulness practice, patience, and strength of spirit and heart. We couldn’t have done it with out her. She is gifted with her nurturing, intuitive ways of caring for babies and new parents alike. She’s also someone you want by your side during delivery. She’s solid and caring and assertive– I felt very safe with her. My hospital room was filled with her healing aromatherapy oils! And we even laughed and told stories during labor. After the birth of our child, she taught us once again a multitude about baby care. She’s the baby whisperer, and the mama whisperer too! Also a fantastic cook to boot. There’s nobody else that could even come close to Giuditta, I couldn’t speak highly enough about the angel she is.

Giuditta is absolutely amazing — she has a gift for babies and mothers that is so rare and special! She changed my life in such a significant way, words can’t even express my gratitude and the love I have for her. Giving birth for the first time is such an unknown but with Giuditta by your side, I felt like I had access to all the answers.
I had a 2 day labor and a difficult delivery and she was there for me every step of the way. She was able to help speed up my slow contractions by walks, acupressure and coaching. I had some complications at UCLA and was told we had an hour to work through it or else I’d need an emergency c-​section. This was not part of my birth plan! But Giuditta guided me with her expertise and we spent that hour doing energy work that got my baby’s heart rate stabilized and I was able to have a vaginal delivery. That hour was one of the most incredible of my life. My nurse at UCLA was in awe of Giuditta and told me over and over again what a special and incredible doula she is… so it’s not just me singing her praises!
Giuditta is also a lactation consultant so she helped me at the hospital right away and I’ve had no issues breastfeeding, since I learned the proper technique from the get go. Even the UCLA lactation consultant who saw me the next day was impressed and said there was nothing else for her to teach me!
We’ve been home with our baby girl for a week now and Giuditta has continued to be a huge help as we figure out what we’re doing! She is super responsive by text, has come to our house at 9 p.m. to help with sleeping issues (and to provide me and my husband with a few hours of uninterrupted sleep), and has taught us so much. Our baby absolutely adores her and we now refer to Giuditta as the baby whisperer.

I can’t say enough positive things about Giuditta, I love her dearly. I feel honored to have her there during the birth of our son. We ended up in the hospital and she was able to be there and let the hospital staff know what we desired and what we did not want to happen, thankfully she was our voice and they listened. She ensured that our son got skin contact with my husband and as soon as I got out of surgery from the C-​section she made sure that our baby and I got skin to skin contact. She taught me how to breastfeed my baby and different techniques. She helped in my home after recovery which was a godsend. She truly is a baby whisperer.

Giuditta helped my wife prepare for delivery, organize and have everything she would need in the nursery, reviewed breastfeeding, and everything else to expect in postpartum. Giuditta is a wealth of information and also has a warm motherly energy. She helped calm my wife’s pre-​delivery nerves and provided her with a lot of invaluable information that we used post delivery. Giuditta was also available to talk when questions and concerns would arise after our baby arrived. We highly recommend to any new moms expecting moms.

Over the years, Giuditta has been so valuable to us and our family. Not only was she our doula, but she has provided sleep education that saved us!
She is extremely knowledgeable about babies and toddlers. Each time we have come to her she has been able to tell us simple, but profound changes to make that are loving and supportive of our child. And we have always seen an immediate difference when we implemented her techniques.
I can’t recommend her enough (in fact I recommend her all the time) as a doula and a sleep expert.

Giuditta is really amazing, as you can see from all her reviews! We just took a class today with her for «Painless Childbirth and Hypnosis For Birth» and it was the best childbirth preparation class we’ve taken so far! She is very experienced, knowledgeable, straight to the point, and patient. I did not loose interest during the class even for a minute, the time passed so fast. We did lots of hands on experience as she guided us through comfort positions. Highly recommend her classes.

This review is 6 months overdue. When I look at my baby girl I still can’t believe she’s mine and I am warmly reminiscent of the day she was born. I won’t go into the play by play but all I will say is: I had a 43 hour labor and delivered my baby completely natural with no pain meds and there’s no way I could’ve done it without Giuditta (and my husband of course) by my side through it all. She is the most nurturing and calm presence. I was never scared because I knew she had my back. She is so knowledgable and experienced. She did everything she could to comfort and motivate me. I can go on and on about how great she was. Bottom line: my husband thought hiring a doula wasn’t necessary, especially one as pricey as her, but he would be the first to say that she was worth every penny in the end. You get what you pay for and Giuditta is as good as it gets. She will forever be connected to us and we look forward to being in her care again if we have any more babies!

We invited Giuditta as doula to help us during labour and baby delivery. It was our 1^st baby and we are very happy to have Giudita with us during all labour hours. She really helped me to feel comfortable during labour and delivery. I have very positive memories about our baby birth day and I wasn’t scared at all. Giuditta used aroma therapy, massage and help me brief correctly. I cannot imagine how we managed without her…
Also she helped us to organize our life with newborn baby. She coached daddy how to take care of baby which gave him confidence and it is very helpful.
I really recommend Giuditta as doula. You will never regret!

I chose Giuditta to be my doula because I felt immediately safe and comfortable with her during our first consultation. She has a very warm and down to earth personality and likes to laugh, but is very professional at the same time. She is very knowledgable regarding any aspect of childbirth and super well trained (we also attended her birthing class). Included in her service is a hypnobirthing instruction along with a recording of her to help you practice it if you like. This was really helpful for me in order to put my mind at ease and calm the anxiety regarding the upcoming birth. When it came to the actual birth, which was a homebirth in my case, Giuditta was there the minute I needed her. She was (along with my husband of course;-)) the shoulder to lean on, helped me managing the pain and stepped back when I needed to be on my own. When my beautiful daughter was born, she made sure we all are comfortable, cleaned up made me a super food smoothie and cooked a super healthy and delicious meal with what she could find in our fridge. It was wonderful! During her follow up visits she helped me with the basics of caring for baby and developing a routine. I’m really grateful and glad that I found her and can wholeheartedly recommend her to anybody looking for a doula.

I have no doubt that without Guiditta I would not have been able to have the natural birth I had planned. I had a truly blessed birthing of my amazing son in August 2013– I have G to thank for it! If you want a natural birth– surround yourself with positive birth stories and people like Guiditta on your side :)

We feel so lucky that we had Giuditta as our post-​partum doula. We would be so lost and miserable without her. I had a very difficult recovery from c-​section for my twins, and a very bad start to breastfeeding. When we came home from the hospital we were just a wreck. Giuditta came in, set up the baby station for us, took care of the kids, cooked for us (her freshly made croissants are to die for), and gave me the time to heal, guidance, and confidence to re-​start breast feeding.
Even though she officially bills herself as post-​partum doula, we think of her as our coach. She specializes in infants and is very knowledgeable and experienced. She has a way of guiding you down the right path, without ever forcing you into it.
I have recommended Giuditta to my friends who worked with her as birth doula and lactation consultant, and they love her too!

My first-​time labor was only six hours and I attribute that to Giuditta. Her presence via hypno-​birthing recordings in preparation, and her actual presence during my labor put me into a state of relaxation and surrender that I believe rapidly accelerated the pace of my daughter’s birth and actually made it an exhilarating experience. As others reviewing her have written, Giuditta is a godsend in every way — from her incredible help at the hospital to her sage advice over the phone and in postpartum visits.
The horror stories of friends whose birth experiences were long and traumatic showed me that it makes a HUGE difference to work with an expert like Giuditta. She really prepares you for what’s to come and makes you feel you are not alone.
For anyone expecting, but especially first time moms, I can’t endorse Giuditta enough. She made the difference for me between a manageable and unmanageable pregnancy and labor. My husband feels the same. She gave him tips throughout that made his job much easier and put his mind at ease. She also set us on the right path taking care of our infant.
We love Giuditta and can’t recommend her enough!

Much like the other reviewers, it is hard to write a review that does Giuditta justice.
My daughter just turned 1 and I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t think about Giuditta. Throughout my pregnancy, my husband and I were so busy with work that we never got around to signing up for birthing classes or reading all the books we bought to prepare for childbirth. I had grand plans to do hypnobirthing, but never got around to that either. So about 4 weeks before my due date, we realized we needed help and reached out Giuditta. From our first meeting, I knew I wanted her to be my doula. She is nurturing, but firm and direct, and that’s just the type of person I wanted by my side during labor.
I was in intense back labor for many hours and during that entire time, she supported, advised, walked, massaged, re-​positioned, and reassured me that I was strong enough to get through it. At the same time, she was a tremendous teacher and coach to my husband, allowing him to both enjoy the unique moment in time we were experiencing together and feel like he was capable of helping me through it.
She was there from beginning to end for us, helping to deliver our beautiful baby girl, but her work didn’t stop there. Giuditta came to our house for a post-​partum visit 3 weeks after my daughter was born and what she taught us changed our lives. To start, from the day that Giuditta visited us, my daughter started sleeping through the night — at 3 weeks!!!
I could go on, but I’ll stop here and just say that there is no better person to have by your side as you prepare to give birth. No matter what your philosophy — natural birth or not — Giuditta has an extraordinary gift that I wish every expecting couple could experience.

this is my third attempt at writing this review but words seem to fail me each time. it’s difficult to properly describe someone who comes into your life and turns one of the most overwhelming transitions a woman and couple can experience into a smooth, beautiful, comfortable shift.
she instilled confidence in my ability as a woman to give birth during our prenatal visits and during labor. she supported me thoroughly, helping me manage pain and easing my worries when my labor wasn’t going as i had hoped, and in the end i wouldn’t change one detail! she instilled confidence in us as new parents during her postpartum visits and showed us how to set up our new life.
her lactation tips, her sleeping tips and her general philosophy are things which need to be shared with the world. i feel so lucky to have found her and benefitted from her expertise, and knowing she is there for us whenever we need is truly a blessing. this woman is pure magic!

I don’t even know how to begin to describe how fantastic Giuditta has been for my family. On my third day home from the hospital, I had slept less than 10 hours in the past 6 days after a 36 hour induction. Despite visits from two lactation consultants, my baby wouldn’t latch and I felt completely helpless. On recommendation from a friend and my birth doula, my husband and I hired Giuditta. As soon as she walked in the door, I felt a hundred times better. My husband commented that he felt like he had his wife back, for the first time in weeks. She then had my lie down on my side and she gently placed my baby on my breast. For the first time in his life, my son ATE. Over the next four nights, Giuditta cooked, organized the nursery, made sure I slept by bringing the baby to me in bed and feeding him pumped milk to extend his stretches, and taught me and my husband so much about breastfeeding and caring for a newborn in general. She was also extremely helpful in the circumcision aftercare. I often think that if it weren’t for Giuditta, I likely would not be breastfeeding now. I am so happy that we decided to hire her! I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Giuditta helped me make it through a hard and fast labor and I feel so fortunate to have had her by my side.
Because my pregnancy was so stressful, I just did not have as much time to prepare for the actual birth as I would have liked. I theoretically wanted to try to labor naturally, but assumed I would likely do an epidural as things got «tough».
This was my second birth and, as everyone warned me, my labor went very quickly once it started (even though my first was over 24 hours). I had to make it through very strong and close together contractions with no anesthesia. I honestly do not think I would have made it through without Giuditta’s help. I just don’t know how she did it, but once those contractions started, she very actively helped me deal with them with positioning, breathing coaching, visualizations, and a million other things — everything! She stayed calm, and helped me stay calm, through it all.
I actually hired Giuditta close to my due date, so I didn’t have as much time to prepare with her as would be ideal, but she helped me as much as possible in that time. I am amazed by how much she was able to help me get through a natural labor with virtually no prep time. (I am sure she would not recommend that approach though)!
If I didn’t have her help, I can only imagine I would have ended up with a cesarean because I just don’t think I otherwise would have been able to maintain my strength and push the baby out. However, WITH her help, as someone who has now delivered one baby naturally, and one with an epidural, it is in fact worth it to go natural. I walked out of the hospital 36 hours later and barely even felt like I delivered a baby. I went right back to my life… with a baby! It was wonderful. I had a much rougher recovery with my first baby.

Guiditta is, in fact, «as good as it gets,» as far as doulas and baby care go.
My wife and I had an amazing birthing experience thanks to Giuditta’s guidance. I think of her as the Michael Jordan of Doulas! Seriously.
She is worth every penny and I really don’t want to imagine what the experience would’ve been like for my wife and I without Giuditta.
In every interaction, from the birthing class to our private pre-​birth meeting to the birth (day) to the post-​visit, Giuditta was supremely helpful, a total pro and really, flawless.
I’m so happy we hired her to be our Doula.

I delivered a 10 lb baby boy at UCLA Westwood totally naturally. I truly believe that without the help of Giuditta I would have given up on my wish to give birth sans drugs.
My husband was very comfortable working with Giuditta and that is an essential part of having a good team dynamic.
Having Giuditta help us navigate our newborn after we got home was essential especially because we don’t have any family nearby.
