Agrifolia Tree Care

I needed a lot of trees trimmed on my property and Drew provided terrific insight as to the optimal way to approach the task at hand, and his team executed in a professional manner. The crew showed up in good spirits and took the the job with enthusiasm. There is certainly an element of art to the job, and the outcomes surpassed my expectations. My neighbors all commented on how good things looked when they finished up. Highly recommended.

We recently had our Valley Oak tree trimmed and ventilated by Drew and his crew of efficient, skilled, and friendly men from Agrifolia. They arrived, as promised, at 8am, and left our home and yard clean, swept and intact with all work completed to our complete satisfaction. In addition they topped a tree in our neighbor’s yard, providing us once again with the view of Mt. Tam that we have loved ever since we moved here in the early 1960’s. Because these trees were either on our neighbor’s property or had grown to the point of possible damage to their house, we had the full cooperation of our neighbors to have the work done, and they also are pleased with the work. We would certainly recommend Agrifolia with Drew Landers and his crew to anyone who might look for a tree expert, and we will ask him back when it comes time to service our trees again in the future.

Drew and his team came yesterday to trim our trees for view restoration. He really is the ultimate professional — not just meeting but exceeding our expectations. His price was reasonable and his work was exceptionally good. He introduced his team, discussed again how much to trim and kept checking as the day went on to see if the amount of trim was right. The team cleaned up and left the site completely. Drew owns the business and clearly takes great pride in his work.

Great service, courteous team. Trimmed our tall hedges, pruned several trees and removed extra yard debris as requested. Charged exactly as quoted at estimate. Very easy to deal with. Drew really seems to know and enjoy trees and values his crew. He gave me options during the job to make sure the details met with my approval. Drew and his team did a great job removing two large diseased trees from our property and also trimming back several other sets of trees. Drew is a great guy and shows an amount of professionalism, friendliness, and follow-​up that is rare to find in tree service providers. The cleanup after the job was finished was excellent as well. Drew and 4 guys of his came by last week to remove a large broken branch, and many related tree limbs, on very tall expansive Monterey Pine in SF, that involved several neighbors backyards, too.

The one star is not for performance as I told drew to go away when he tried to charge my wife $ 1,000 for what he called maybe three hrs of work. The problem isn’t necessarily the three hrs, I understand estimating time. The problem is he stated his rate was $ 240/​hr for him and two young college age kids. That is exceedingly high for non-​expertise work. I literally can have two guys here in an hr that would the work for less than half that rate and that is why people hire migrant labor. While pruning some larger trees requires expertise that drew or his crew may or may not have, the bid was for removal of 3 small privets (3 inch diameter) and one small live oak (maybe 6 inches in diameter) along with light pruning. No stump grinding or root removal, simply cut the tree down, cut into maybe 2 – 4 pieces and haul away and not one of the trees is over 15 feet. I want people to know what to expect. If you need an expert to remove a 30 foot tree, then call drew, but if you need some general yard work that doesn’t necessitate large equipment (they showed up in a beat up Camry I believe), you don’t need to spend $ 240 per hr. I called another guy and he quoted $ 75 an hr.

Agrifolia made the trees in our garden look great. The crew showed up on time, did a terrific job and cleaned up when they were done.

Drew and crew have been doing tree work for me for years. I would never think of hiring anyone else to care for my trees! Their expertise with oaks-​not only pruning, but also nourishing the soil, has allowed my many oaks to flourish!
They also came to my workplace and tened a grove of heritage oaks off Lucas Valley Road. They worked skillfully for an entire week to ensure the best health for those trees.

Drew came out, gave us an estimate on pruning a few dead branches off of our oak tree, which were hanging dangerously over a corner of our house in Marin. His price was quite reasonable. A few days later, his crew of 3 young men stopped by and did the work. They were efficient, polite and did a terrific job.
Would definitely call on these folks again if we need more tree care, and we are happy to recommend Drew and his crew to all of our friends and relatives.

I hired Drew and his crew of three young men came out to my new home to prune several oak trees and remove two of them. They also removed a plum tree and several «volunteer» plums that were sprouting up nearby. Drew seems to have a genuine appreciation for trees and for his work. He made lots of sensible recommendations when he came out to give me an estimate over a month ago. Beware – if all you want to do is chop down all your oak trees, he may not be your guy. He recommended taking out two of mine that were in decline, but told me that with pruning, the others could be preserved while still giving my back yard much more light.
Drew’s crew were incredibly polite – all «please» and «thank you”– which was a refreshing departure from what I expected, especially since they all seemed so young! They got right to work taking down the trees designated for removal, which they finished in no time. The rest of the day was spent (with Drew right in there helping) pruning my remaining oaks. I never knew trees could lose so much dead wood and still be so beautiful! It seemed like the crew hauled 10 trees’ worth of wood out of my yard, and yet my trees are alive, beautiful and obviously «happy» now. The crew also did an amazing clean up job– it looked like the gardening crew had just been there!
The job cost came in exactly as estimated, even though they spent a *long* day at my house.
I would absolutely recommend Drew and his crew. Next to putting in new wood floors, this was probably the best money I’ve spent on my home/​yard since I bought the place in the spring.

Drew and his crew did an excellent job on our property. I moved into this home several years ago and with many large trees around I knew tree service was something I would need to deal with sooner rather than later. Drew spent a lot of time during our consultation providing me with information about my situation, as well as what types of options he could provide.
This service aspect was right in line with prior reviews. The job was done in a high quality manner, the clean up was top notch. I wouldn’t have even known the guys were there aside for the dramatic and much needed pruning they did on my redwood and live oaks.
I thought the price point was more than reasonable for the amount of work performed. I plan on using Agrifolia again in the future and would recommend them to any one.

Drew and his team at Agrifolio have done a number of projects at our home over the years, ranging from basic tree and hedge trimming, to a major large tree overhaul. The work has always been great (with a good clean-​up afterward) and pricing has been reasonable. Look no further — this way to go.

We had a dead birch in the front yard that needed removal. I called Marin Arborists bc I had heard about them. Two unreturned calls and a broken promise to send someone out to estimate sent us looking. We found Agrifolia online. They came the next day… left an estimate immediately and called to confirm. The following day they showed up, did their work, and cleaned up so you couldn’t tell they had even been there. Highly recommended.

Having had one large cedar fall on my roof during a storm I was concerned about the possibility of the other — larger, closer tree having a similar fate with more dire consequences.
Drew came highly recommended and he lived up to that reputation. A pleasure to deal with — a real down-​to-​earth, up-​in-​the-​trees man. His estimate was reasonable and his actual cost came in under the estimate.
Besides thinning and making safe the big tree he also trimmed several other trees on the property and he removed two trees that had to go.
The crew is young, refreshing, hard-​working, and efficient. They did a great job tidying up after including sweeping up in the neighbor’s yard.

For the first time in my life, I’ve got a tree. A few of them, actually, including an old one that looked a little worse for wear. So what should I do? A tree guy, I guessed, but there were so many, and most of the reviews just referred to low prices. Low prices are important, believe me, but this is a very cool old tree, and I want to do the right thing. So an acquaintance referred me to Drew Landers at Agrifolia. Called him, scheduled a meeting, and he came and explained to me what the trees were, what shape they were in (pretty good, as it turned out), what needed to be done and why, and he gave me an estimate. Well, guess what — his prices were right in line with what others were quoting, and even lower than one. He did the work with care and expertise, and I’m looking at it right now, and it’s fantastic. He considers the health of the tree, the look of it, how it’s going to grow, and how it’s going to look when it grows out. His crew is quick, efficient, and tidy. He knows trees. And he seems like a great guy. If that’s not five stars, I don’t know what is.
