History
Established in 1976.
The Manitou Springs Historical Society purchased Miramont Castle in 1976, saving it from the condemnation process. Civic and community groups contributed over 7,800 hours of work in the first year. Many other groups such as the Manitou Springs Women’s Club, The Masonic Lodge, three chapters of the Rotary Club, Girls Scouts, the American Legion, five chapters of the Jaycees and the 4th Combat Engineering Battalion, all volunteered their time to help with restoration. The Historical Society converted an open veranda into patio seating. The patio was enclosed in 1994. The tearoom is open year round.
