One star! The food was fairly good, but the adventure was disappointing with the ordering and paying for the service. I asked if I could have a sample of the hot sauce before ordering. Answer was I could but would have to pay extra. I asked if my order after receiving it was supposed to include sour cream and guacamole. Was informed it didn’t but could have it for an extra cost. Answer was way too much for it, so declined. The final was when we went to pay bill. The waitress informed us that we could not use a discount coupon because she didn’t know how to handle it. Supposedly owner was out and we would have to pay the full bill. Incidentily, the total included $ 4.98 for the sour cream and guacamole I had declined. I warn anyone having a coupon they advertise to not try using it there.

This place is a dump. Food is terrible and they didn’t tell us they have no liquor license until we’d ordered the advertised margarita special. Avoid.

This place was really bad and dirty. Went there tonight. When we walked up all of the staff was out front smoking, including the chef. We ordered the shrimp fajitas and house specialty carnitas…47 min later our food arrived. We were one of two couples. Another couple entered and the guy refilling water told them all the food was bland unless it had a pepper next to it on the menu. Then it was spicy. He also told them the could add spice to items but the have to request it. Would of been nice to know before we ordered. The carnitas were large chunks of tender, but tasteless pork on a plate with refried beans, rice, guacamole, and pico. The only spice or seasoning of any sort was slight lime in the guacamole. The shrimp fajitas at least had black pepper on them. Besides the food they don’t have a liquor license yet. And the bathrooms are in a weird place and the women’s was really pathetic. Walk into the kitchen go past the water heater through a tiny door. The hot water was broke handle just spun. The cold water worked but the faucet leaked. And the water it leaked was dirty brown. And the paper towel dispenser was broke as well. Would give them zero stars if it was a option.

We couldn’t get in to our regular Mexican place, so we came here. They need to mark the entrance door, since there were about seven customers wandering around outside looking for it. They have an irritating habit of having their customers wait for a seat, while doing such mundane tasks as fetching water for others. The free bottomless wonderful chips, salsa and made from scratch frijoles were quick to come. The inside will hold about 50 people. There are booths and tables, with glass covering the tablecloths. Linen napkins are a nice touch. The busboy was quick and efficient with additional chips and water flowing. Service was great with a lot of attention. The waiter and waitress shared a lot of duties. We watched the waitress divvy up separate checks for a table of 7, with no sweat. There is no WiFi for customers, and would be easy to add, since they have company WiFi already. The place is not within the range of free Manitou WiFi. We had the 3 item combo, Chimi(too salty), Burrito(Good), and Chile Rellano(Great). No liquor license yet, but no problem. Credit cards accepted. We’ll be back!

Hey. Manitou! Serrano’s — Manitou Springs is FANTASTIC! it’s been a long time coming, but Serrano’s is definitely worth the wait! I could wax poetic, but suffice it to say, our experience tonight was 5-star all the way! Service was friendly, kind and efficient. The owner’s wife, Audrey was delightful and our server, Sage, made sure every bit of our experience was great. The warm tortilla chips and salsa were unforgettably delicious. We shared Fajitas and Roasted Vegetables(one of their Specialties) and enjoyed every perfectly seasoned bite. We will be back soon. Serranos is a welcome change of pace from the declining mediocrity of Manitou Avenue’s other Mexican restaurant. We will be back soon. Love supporting quality local businesses who care that your experience is top shelf.

Very good Mexican food. Fresh and tasty. I had a combo plate enchiladas were good, but the chili relleno was amazing. My 13 year old son proclaimed the enchiladas poblano«muy delicioso».
