Description

Specialties

The Loop serves a variety of Baja style Mexican food and award winning margaritas. There are two full service bars and three dining rooms. We can accommodate large parties for your special event. We are located in Beautiful Manitou Springs, Colorado at the foot of Pike’s Peak.

History

Established in 1991.

The Loop was built 1903 and has always been a restaurant and has always been called The Loop. The name was coined because the trollycar from Colorado Springs went around the building and back to the Springs. In the 1920’s and 30’s The Loop was a wild and wolly place that cattered to illegal gambling in the now two apartments overhead. Since then a number of restaurants have thrived in this location including the present day Mexican restaurant.

Every year the local newspaper allows people to vote for their favorite restaurant. The Loop has won over 40 awards during those years including 14 striaght years for the Best Margaritas in Colorado Springs. Over 8,000 people vote every year. We are proud of this!

Meet the Business Owner

Matt G.

Business Owner

Matt Gray purchased The Loop in 1991 and has expanded twice since then. Mr. Gray is a grad of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in business administration. He served on the USS Constellation during the Veit Nam conflict. He was born in Minneapolis and then spent 20 years in Lake Tahoe before moving Colorado Springs. Mr. Gray has been involved the restaurant industry on many different levels throughout his life and has brought his experience to Colorado to make The Loop a success for 22 years. Many of the recipes at The Loop were discovered by Matt and his wife Araceli (born in Delecias, Mexico) on their travels in Mexico.
