I have been walking in for years to get my doxies nails clipped. Everyone is so friendly and does a great job. If I ever needed full grooming, i would come here for sure. With short haired doxies I don’t need but a nail clipping, and I come here every time!

I took my dog for a grooming only a few weeks ago, having her hair and nails trimmed. Come to find after a vet visit today my dog broke a nail. This only happens when nails are extremely long. I told the vet it was impossible because I’d only just gotten her groomed. He replied that her nails looked like they hadn’t been cut in over six months (I’d been to have her nails cut three months prior to all of this) and were extremely long. My dog was in a lot of pain because I paid the wrong people for a service they did NOT provide. Never using this place again not only because I got ripped off, but because they completely disregarded an animal.

I have very long haired Persians. Typically I had groomers come to the house, but it became too costly with three of them. I live nearby and decided to try L & B. They came home perfectly groomed and clean. All of their mats had been brushed out and they listened to my grooming specifications. The biggest appeal is how HAPPY they came back to me. I thought they would be upset since I spoil them rotten and normally provide in home care/​grooming but, no– all three were as pleased with their look and feel as I.

I live near L&B and thought to try it out for my medium sized dog since it was close by. Ive tried various dog groomers around UES and have been happy with all services, including L&B.
They currently have a promotion on and I think usual prices are halved now. It wasn’t advertised, but I foubd out through calling, i think they said it is running until November 15th.
So my dog was excellently cleaned, had her sanitary cut and fur between the paws clipped and she smells great! Her demeanor was also happy when we left so they must have treated her well and she wasn’t traumatized from having her wash.
Im making L&B my regular dog grooming place now! :)

I come here to get my cat’s nails clipped once a month. I always just walk in and they are very accommodating and do it right away. My cat is skittish but the girls here are excellent at calming her down and the whole process is over in about 5 minutes. The cost is $ 10 which is reasonable for a nail trim. I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so as long as I live in the neighborhood!

The ladies who work here are wonderful, and they appear to care about dogs. However, the owner is one of the rudest men I have ever encountered. He does not care about animals or about his employees. I stopped going to this salon even though it was inexpensive, and the ladies in the back shop did a nice job. The man who runs the place treats people so horribly that I just could not go back.

I have a Coton De Tulear and a Havanese, both of whom I keep in full coat. Over the years, we have been to many groomers. Surprisingly, many places don’t know how to groom a dog without clipping their hair. L & B does, and I think that they do a great job.
It is interesting that there are reviews here that call the L & B staff unfriendly. I have only had good experiences with the people here and they are very nice to my dogs. In fact, this is the only groomer my Coton (who is persnickety) has ever LIKED going to. She is excited when we arrive and perfectly happy to be left with them. It must be because they manage to wash and brush her out without hurting her– and they also must be nice to her. It feels good to have finally found a place where I know the dogs will be well-​groomed and are not traumatized in the process.

For more than a decade L & B has been attending to my Weimaraners’ nails. I came upon the place by accident and it was fortunate for me that I did. Eddie cuts the nails best. He’s quick and never hits the quick. No barking, no bleeding! Believe me, the price is right! Less than half what you would pay elsewhere. I’ve sent many dog owners there and the response has always been strongly positive! L&B is more than affordable: they are outrageously cheap for the extensive grooming services they offer!

L&B is amazing! After many bad experiences on the Upper East Side, I finally found L&B! I have been bringing my Shihtzu to L &B grooming for the last 7 years! I don’t care about any other review here, L&B has always been great, and as you can see from the pictures my dog looks gorgeous !~ I really appreciate that her nails are properly trimmed and not sharp, so I think they use a burr. She never had a bleeding nail, which I know is very painful. I also really appreciate that L&B managed to get into hard places to make sure she is just perfect ! — and even when the groomer noticed my little princess got an eye infection that was mentioned to me, so I could take her to the vet. So far it is the only place on Upper East that after a visit my dog is not traumatized and just goes about her business when she gets home! ~ thank you L&B !

i have a bichon/​poodle mix and have had him groomed lots of different places, good and bad. L&B does an awesome job of making my pup look handsome and in a short amount of time (2 – 3 hours). The women who work there are sweet and listen to how I want him cut. The only thing i don’t love is that they crate the dogs when they aren’t grooming them, something my dog isn’t really used to. But since i pick him up ASAP after he’s done, he isn’t crated for too long. Prices are pretty standard for an NYC groom, around $ 80-​$ 90 (my dog is 18 lbs)
Overall, i really like this place.

Went here for years with my two dogs. Although they are not the friendliest I never had any major issues. Then one day I picked up my dog from a bath and cut and on the way home noticed a bleeding cut near her backside which they shave. I called them and they asked me to bring her back in… they all denied they has cut her and said it must be an existing cut that I never noticed. This was ridiculous bc you could see it was a fresh pink cut and bleeding. They refused to take responsibility and were extremely rude. Of course mistakes can happen and if they would have just admitted their mistake and apologized I would have been fine. Instead they lost a regular customer of 3 years. I do not recommend this groomer!

We take our standard poodle here for grooming 4 to 6 times a year, and they always
do a nice job — including ears, nails and other difficult bits. Theo is always much admired after he goes here. Theo has passed on but his successor, Ciro, goes about 8 times a year and despite weeing on the ladies who groom him, always comes back looking great.

ive been going to this salon for about 15 years and i think they are the best in the upper east side. I think that having multiple dogs for years might qualify me as an expert. The dogs are in and out in about 3 hours Urie came back last September and he spruced up the place by renovating and putting in new bath tubs, and kennels. Of course Larisa is still there and we all know she is the best groomer in Manhattan. They give discounts for Seniors on Wednesday and 1st time pets get discounts too. If youre not going there allready put a smile on your pets face and try this place

There is NO reason to get into the field of grooming unless you are kind, patient, compassionate and a true lover of animals.
These people are gruff, uncaring, impatient and unfriendly.
My dog, who is the world’s most wonderfully behaved animal, went in because he needed his nails clipped. He is old and his quicks have gotten very long and so you have to cut them very carefully so you don’t hurt him.
I explained this to them and they told him into the back.
I heard him squealing and crying the whole time and he came back to me with quick-​stop powder on EVERY one of his nails. They quicked ALL of them.
SO TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
I will never return.

This place is the worst! Used to be great a few years ago. Ever since the guy behind the counter started –it’s absolutely awful!
It smells, it’s dirty, they cut my dogs ear. Don’t go here!

So good! I’ve been meaning to find a good groomer to take my dog to that isn’t petco. I came across L&B through my usual Unilocal searches and decided to give it a shot considering the 20% discount and closeness convenience. Long story short, even though they were short one staff member, they turned my shih-​tzu into the sexiest thing to arrive at the dog park today. We’ll definitely come back!

Brought my two cats here for grooming and lion cuts. They did a great and thorough job. Most importantly, the cats were happy when they got home, which indicates it was not too traumatic an experience.
It was easy to make an appointment, everything ran on time, and the place looked clean and very well maintained. Only downside was price — nearly $ 100 each, but well worth it compared to the pissiness I’ve dealt with in the past when going to cheaper and less experienced groomers.
My aunt has brought her cockerspaniel here for years and has also been very happy! It’s a great find.
