Finishing Touches by Stephanie

What can be said that hasn’t already been said? Simply put, Finishing Touches is a life saver. Without any doubt, Stephanie and Sonny are amazing people. They were recommended to us by an acquaintance in our building. First, the daycare facility is meticulously kept, very clean and well organized. Second, dog walks are included in the monthly packages to ensure that your pet is well exercised during the day. For my part, this was really important for my puppy since I didn’t want her playing for 2 minutes and then napping the entire day. BUT, the singular distinguishing characteristic is how much they care about the dogs. They are critical about which dogs will well integrate with the others. Stephanie goes out of her way to always answer my concerns when my little pup is under the weather and to give great pointers in her obedience training. What it really boils down to is the high level of trust that everyone at Finishing Touches imparts on the owners and the dogs. It makes being away from them actually feel like a treat… like the dogs are in camp. So, if your little loved one does pass their muster, there is no better place in the city for daycare and grooming.

I have been taking my 5 month old puppy here regularly for daycare for almost the past month. I cannot say enough positive words about this place. He has the most amazing time! He runs in as soon as we get near the door because he can’t wait to play with the other dogs! The play area is always kept very clean and all of the dogs have always been well behaved and playing nicely with each other when I go inside.
My pup has also had a few grooming sessions already and looks amazing and smells so clean every time.
Stephanie has gone out of her way on many occasions to offer tips and advice on training and other puppy matters. You can tell that she cares so much about animals. It is also obvious that Stephanie and Sonny are very kind and loving with the animals because I’m sure my little guy would not be running in with excitement to the place he gets groomed if they were not gentle and kind. I can also tell that since he started going to daycare here, he is better behaved at home and is eating and sleeping so well.

Stephanie and Sonny (the owners here) are knowledgeable, talented, and thoughtful in their care of dogs. They are very reliable, and their grooming salon is clean and bright and well maintained. My Havanese always looks amazing after a bath and/​or haircut at Finishing Touches, and he never fails to get compliments and admiring glances on the street. He also goes there for doggy day care, and he walks me to the store enthusiastically!

FANTASTIC! My little pup, Señor, had his first cut/​grooming session and LOVED it. I had asked several people I know, and some I didn’t on the street, and Stephanie’s name kept coming up. She is a PRO. Very thorough yet my little pooch came out beautiful, happy and invigorated. We’ll be back!

Stephanie is absolutely wonderful — caring & professional. She took the time to walk me through what she was going to do with my Pekingese and put my mind at ease about leaving my baby with her. My dog has never had a better grooming, and I’ve tried several locations in the city. A couple weeks later, and it is growing out so nicely. The best part is that she recommended we drop in sometimes on our walks so that she can give my dog a treat and make him feel more comfortable for the next time he goes back. Now we can’t walk by without him wanting to run in and say hi! I’m so happy to have a found a groomer that cares as much about the well being of my dog as I do. Also, her pricing is equal to if not less than everywhere else I’ve tried which is great considering the amount of personalized care she gives.

If u want Robert Mugabe to groom your dog than, by all means, go to Stephanie. Besides her miserable attitude she is a total thief. Quotes u a price which is high enough and then charges extra for every little thing that should be the normal part of grooming. Almost comical. For example: mats, undercoat, dirt! Just rediculous

The worst. Yes, the place is clean. But Stephanie is nasty and fails to follow the instructions for your dog’s grooming. The result is lousy grooming. Her prices are ridiculous. On top of that, she charges extra if your dog has a mat. If my dog never got a mat, I wouldn’t need a groomer. I bumped into someone on the street with a dog and he just was furious about the lousy service and that her bill after the grooming was higher than she said.

My husband and I decided to buy an English Bulldog back in December. Neither of us had any experience owning a dog and knew very little about dogs in general. We were planning on finding a day care facility that would take WInston, when our neighbor recommended Stephanie and her team at finishing touches. SInce then, Winston has been with Stephanie for the past five months or so and it has been the best thing for him and us!!! He has really grown up with Stephanie and her team — who are just incredible. They love their dogs — treating each like their own — giving each their full attention and even training Winston to do all sorts of fun tricks! He is so well exercised during the day, he usually comes home and falls right asleep before dinner! He is so friendly with adults, children and other dogs — this is a direct result of Stephanie and her team. We feel so lucky to have found her!!! She has also taught us a ton about dog ownership — from health to training — that has been priceless!
Also, the cleanliness of Stephanie’s facility is top notch — you will not find a better day care facility or groomer in New York City! I can call her any time during the day to check in and/​or ask questions –she has the patience to take the time to discuss anything we need and we couldn’t be happier — it’s a wonderful feeling knowing your dog is in great care during the day!
