If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is a huge disappointment and a complete waste of time. It took them forever to get back to me to make an appointment. Then a couple days before my appointment there was a «limited «supply of dresses 5 dresses left in the store isn’t a limited supply. And if you are closing yor doors you should say something about that BEFORE setting and appointment with people. Complete waste of time and unprofessional! !

After seeing so many beaming brides on
, I knew that I had to get myself to one of their six locations (and New York was the closest by far). Visits are by appointment only, and are few and far between (I had to email weeks in advance, fortunately they had but ONE appointment left in the week/​month that I would be in the city).
Let’s start off by saying that Yvette is my styling goddess! She had so many fabulous recommendations for my whole ensemble. She asked the questions that no one else had asked and helped paint a picture of the day. Using elements of our couple style and our wedding theme she helped narrow down my options. I tried on only three dresses over the course of our 1,5hr appointment, but it felt like so many more as there were custom features to consider.
As we all got along so well we got to chatting, ans swaying, and swishing fabrics, and talking travel, andddd my appointment actually started to roll into another bride’s time (sorry, young woman at the door!!). I made my escape with a massive smile on my face (what a great experience).
Now: things to consider. I had (for some reason) been under the impression that the dresses were American-​made (big big big big bonus points)…however they are created in Asia (not China, perhaps Vietnam… I tried to block out this detail, so the specifics are a bit fuzzy). This was issue one. Issue two: I thought I had LOADS of time before my wedding (11 months away), but Dolly needs my order at least 9 months in advance to accommodate for 6 – 8 weeks sewing-​and-​shipping. Perhaps I am naïve in thinking that this is a bit of a stretch, but the timing just seemed odd (and stress-​inducing) to this bride.
All in all: all good. Dolly is at the tippy top of my dress list. Being the scavenger that I am, there’s still a bit of shopping around that needs to be done (but everything will be compared to that Verona dress!!). We’ll be in touch, Yvette… o yes, we WILL be in touch.

I came here in April for a fitting when I was visiting the city. In the end I wound up going with a different dress, but I want to leave a review anyway.
I went on a Saturday. Sadly, I made a rookie tourist mistake and took the train the wrong way and my planned 20 minutes early turned into 20 minutes late. When I arrived Yvette told me that I would only be able to try on 2 or 3 dresses since my only appointment was only going to be an hour since they were so busy. So I was a little bummed.
It is confirmed this is 1 room with 1 attendant, so don’t be late!
That being said, I found Yvette to be very knowledgeable and she had great suggestions on what would work with my body. (I am plus sized so this is not always the case.)
The dresses are what you see on their website and Facebook, but it’s nice to see the fabric in person. I recommend making the appointment!

Got my wedding dress from this company and LOVED it! The sales staff was amazingly helpful.

I wore a Dolly Couture dress for my wedding. I had a hard time finding a short and casual dress, and was really lucky to find them. The service I received was great — I had a really productive fitting, at which time they took all my measurements. My dress arrived in the mail within weeks of placing the order.
The design and fit of my dress were lovely. I only needed minor alterations.
My biggest problem with the dress is quality. There were lots of loose strands of plastic string everywhere, some were clumped and knotted along the lace hem. While making alterations, we noticed the pleated folds at the top were held together by 2 flimsy stitches.
At the end of the night, as I took the dress off, one of the back buttons broke, revealing the cheap plastic underneath. Then, a button loop completely came apart. These were the buttons I paid over $ 100 extra for…
In the end, the dress served its purpose. I’m just left with the feeling that I paid nearly $ 1000 for a hastily made costume that fails after one night’s wear.

I can’t say enough good things about Montana and the Dolly Couture team. I went to the NY showroom with my sister because I wanted something «different.» I tried on several dresses, got suggestions from the saleswoman, had my measurements taken, and was shown a number of different options. The stellar service really came from my emails with Montana though — I wanted something a little more custom, and she was great getting me sketches of my dream dress. Every time I wanted something changed, she responded promptly with a new drawing. When my dress finally arrived, it was perfect. Thank you Dolly Couture!

I went to Dolly Couture in early May with my Mom and my fiancé’s Mom. Montana made them feel at home and helped me pick a fun, cute dress that I am really excited to wear. She sent a follow up email to confirm certain changes that I requested from the standard New Orleans dress. Even better, the dress arrived in the mail a full two months early! It fits like a glove.

My dress is ordered and not yet in my hands, but I’d like to rate Dolly Couture’s NYC showroom based on my experience there.
Having been working with the main (California) showroom/​representative on designing a custom wedding dress, I had the chance to travel to NYC and so I arranged an appointment at that location. I had my measurements taken and tried on some dresses to make sure I was happy with what I was asking for in a custom design.
Before I arrived, I arranged the appointment with Montana (location manager) who was so helpful when I realized I’d booked the wrong date for my appointment! She rescheduled with no fuss and no worries. On the day I met with Yvette, a consultant who clearly knows her stuff. The Dolly Couture showroom is clearly that — a showroom and not a store/​storefront. Very simply put together with a desk, a small loungey/​waiting area and a rail of sample dresses, it suits it’s purpose. After my appointment I was even more confident that I’d made the right choice. Dolly Couture dresses are amazingly priced for the bridal market (and especially for the custom options) and the personal service is unmatched!
If you’re looking for a mid-​century style dress, a tea-​length dress, etc. they are certainly a great little company to consider. I’m so glad I did!

If you are looking for a tea length wedding dress, look no further than Dolly Couture! I just spent the afternoon trying on their dresses which are all just phenomenal, beautifully made, gorgeous dresses. The dresses are so wonderful I’m going to have a hard time choosing between my top three! Montana was just lovely and so super helpful, and she made the whole experience such a delight! This is not an experience for brides expecting a kiss-​ass saleswoman who will woo you with glasses of champagne into buying $ 5,000 dresses… No, no. This is for the down-​to-​earth, vintage bride looking to spend $ 600-​$ 1200 (which for wedding gowns is an amazing price for something custom made), depending on how many customizations you want. Speaking of which, all the dresses can be totally customized with different fabrics and colors and touches to make your dream, tea-​length wedding gown!
