She’s amazing and helped me create the dress of my dreams. I had several modesty guidelines I needed, and Mika was more than accommodating and helpful to make sure my dress fit those guidelines. She gave great suggestions and advice and answered all of my questions and concerns. She truly designed exactly the dress I wanted with the most perfect fit. Plus, she worked with my short time frame, which was a huge relief!

Mika is nothing short of absolutely amazing. I cannot begin to say enough positive things about my experience with her — from our very first meeting where we discussed a few options and what I had in mind — to 2 weeks before my wedding when I stood in her studio in complete awe of my nearly finished wedding dress. I say «nearly» finished to emphasize Mika’s sincere perfectionist qualities: she refused to let me walk out without the dress fitting perfectly and every detail of the hand-​embroidery finished to a «tee».
Mika may have been joking with me when she called my dress a masterpiece — but I can tell you, I felt like a celebrity wearing it! I trusted her so much that I just let her create her own veil look — my only request was long and dramatic :) It turned out perfectly.
As a bride you want to work with someone who will listen and deal with all your ‘crazy, stressful’ moments because they will inevitably happen. For me that was choosing the color of the under layer of my dress, deciding on the final silhouette, being sure that the embroidery had enough sparkle — Mika was there to answer my questions via email or reassure me every step of the way that it was going to be perfect. And that it was.

Mika is literally amazing! I am the bride and went to her with just a picture. Initially I was so nervous but she proved me wrong. She completely understood what I was wanting, the theme and the feel of the dress. Not only did she get what I wanted but she was able to work with my schedule since I live in Texas. She created my dress in only 4 dress fittings! She does remarkable work, so detailed and her beading is out of this world. She listens and offers advice, has a great sense of humor and really was joy to be around. I will miss her to be honest! Mika is for brides who want to look classic and don’t want to look like a princess or a confection. Mika is unbelievably talented and hardworking. She doesn’t stop until it is perfect. She also has an incredible eye for what will work with your figure. Within minutes of meeting her and describing what I would like, she drew a sketch of exactly what I had in mind. Over the months of fittings she crafted what my wedding guests described as the most classic wedding dress they had ever seen. She was able to make a truly beautiful one of a kind dress that was also very simple and elegant. She also handmade my veil which was incredibly beautiful. Plus, she is such a pleasure to work with. She is so sweet and warm and really makes you feel at ease. When my Dad saw me in the dress, he was amazed at how it looked exactly like the initial sketch I had shared with him. I highly recommend working with Mika for a one of a kind dress and a truly unique experience! It’s not often in life you get to have a dress handmade for you.

i wish that i could give mika inatome more stars! she is incredibly talented and has the most wonderful personality. i am really surprised she doesn’t have more reviews on Unilocal!by looking at her website you would never know what she is capable of. she can make anything! i feel like the luckiest bride because i was able to create a one of a kind custom gown with mika.
i think that i went to every single wedding gown store in manhattan and long island. i went to budget friendly places and high end wedding salons hoping to find the perfect gown. there were definitely some beautiful ones for sure, but none that felt like me. mika inatome created the most gorgeous dress for me, something that i never could’ve imagined or even knew was what i was envisioning. there is definitely nothing even similar to my dress in stores, which makes it even more special. we worked together to create a style from different images and inspirations i had shared with her. during the whole process she was so patient, so fun to work with and loving. i am not the easiest person to work with as i’m so particular about every single detail big and small. she was always kind and listened to everything that i asked for with a smile, tweaking along the way. i know that all she wanted to do was make the most amazing gown for me and for me to feel beautiful on my wedding day. i did! mika is someone who is so passionate about her work and will not stop until you have the dress of your dreams.
i would recommend mika inatome to anyone who wants a one of a kind special wedding dress. you will not believe what the finished product looks like! completely couture! every time i went for a fitting i would see other dresses that she was working on. each one was so different and so stunning in it’s own way. i was a little sad to pick up my dress because that meant my visits were over. i miss her already! i just can’t say enough as there are no words to describe her talent and beauty as a person.

Mika has a way of instantly befriending her brides and keeping you focused on a dress that will flatter YOUR figure and make you beautiful on your special day, regardless of whatever kooky trends or ideals wedding magazines put out there. Anyone who has spent two seconds wedding planning knows how valuable that kind of person is…
My first meeting with Mika I’d spent all day at bridal salon appointments, which was a good idea because I knew what looked good/​bad already… within three minutes of describing what I wanted, Mika sketched my DREAM DRESS that combined all the various elements of dresses I’d liked to far. I have no idea how she was able to read my mind and sketch exactly what I wanted, but I guess that’s why she’s so good at this business!
On top of that, the price point for Mika’s gowns is very reasonable when you take into account what alterations/​steaming/​veils usually add to the cost of a gown. Why pay for those things a la carte when you can get it all included in the gown price already?

Working with Mika was the most memorable, fun, and stress-​free part of planning my wedding.
I live on the west coast and travel back to NY just a few times a year, and Mika was so accommodating in working with my schedule. We even met to do initial measurements while she was traveling through California (in a very memorable rendezvous in an airport parking garage). I met her three more times in NY for a muslin fitting, a dress fitting, and a final fitting weeks before the wedding. Her studio is a warm, intimate setting, and Mika made me and my family feel so at home. She’s sweet and full of energy, and it was always such a delight to see her.
Mika worked with me to customize every detail to exactly what I was looking for. My wedding dress ended up being more perfect than I could have imagined, and it fit flawlessly. She knew how to work with my body shape to create the most flattering fit (and miraculously create curves where I thought none existed). She also designed a gorgeous, unique veil using the same lace as in my dress.
Though strapless, I didn’t have to worry about pulling the dress up throughout my wedding day. And while it was a humid, 95-​degree day, I was comfortable in my lightweight dress. The train bustled nicely after the ceremony and was easy to move around in.
For any bride looking for a custom wedding dress, I can’t say enough about Mika. She’s a professional, amazingly talented designer, and she’ll work with you to create the dress of your dreams.

Mika is incredibly sweet and does amazing work. She’s a perfectionist and made me a wedding gown that fit like a glove, flattered my body, and had the more adorable train. Her two dogs are also sweethearts. A friend recommended her to me and I’ve since then recommended her work to others.

Mika made the most amazing wedding gown for me. She has lots of great models to try on, then customizes the one you pick, to fit your body, and you can change some details. The design, fit, and quality were absolutely amazing. And Mika is lovely to work with; she’s so sweet. I got so many compliments on the dress at the wedding, and felt so beautiful. Thank you Mika.
