This is a fun place to be to watch a game or fight. I love the atmosphere and ambience! I wouldn’t trust the foods after reading the review about a rat dropping on someone’s plate. I will only get order drinks unless the top is a twist off. Like a Stella cider… The bathrooms are surprisingly clean and huge! The servers may have a RBF but don’t take it personally, it’s probably because they get womanized on the job. I would have an RBF too if I were them.

«Come for the beer, stay for the trivia, but don’t really rely on the food or service that much.» That’s my mantra when I come to visit this place for the weekly trivia nights on Wednesday. This is overall a pretty fun bar — lots of big screen TV’s for practically everything you want to watch sports-wise. They offer free peanuts that you can eat while you enjoy a beer, and toss the shells to the ground, ‘Murica-style. The trivia is a lot of fun — the host is a dude who pulls off a pretty convincing British accent, and comes up with some diverse questions. My buddies and I have had some good nights at this bar testing our knowledge and kicking back to enjoy a good brew. The beer selection is also pretty good here, with a good amount of bottles and on-tap local beers. This isn’t a Flying Saucer or YardHouse by any account, but pretty good for a local pub. Where this place loses stars are in two areas: food and service. The service is pretty poor here. Waitstaff are impossible to find, take forever, and have very poor knowledge of both the menu and the beer selection. They can’t make any good recommendations or know even what beers they have. The food is nothing to write home about, either. I’ve had some of the burger offerings here, which although gigantic in size, lack in flavor. The burgers come overcooked, and are expensive(again despite the sheer size of the meal). The fries have been pretty good though, everytime I visit! I recommend checking the place out for trivia and a beer with snacks, but not really for a full meal. Pay with cash and don’t ask for change, otherwise allocate an extra 30 mins to find a waitress to get your credit card or change back! The score: Ambience: 4⁄5 Service: 2⁄5 Price: 3⁄5 Food: 2⁄5 Overall: 3⁄5.

The service was awesome. We were here for the aldo/mcgregor fight and it was jam packed in here, yet the waitress still navigated her way through the traffic to find us a spot. Even the bartender had great service although serving us food wasnt his job. He always checked up on us and made sure we were eating comfortably in a very crowded area. The food was great also highly recommended if youre ever in the area.

I’m here on a Tuesday at 10:45. Says they’re open until 2am. Stools are already on the tables & they’re sweeping up the peanut shells. Maybe it’s a local culture but when I was a bartender with no customers I stuck it out, read the paper, side work whatever it takes to keep my sanity — I didn’t just F’ing close cuz there were no customers or happy hour was rough. Whatever, it’s a Tuesday and we don’t really want you here. 3 stars because I think this place could be cool if they …(I’ll charge &250/hr for course correcting your allegedly good bar)

WOW! This place was A+. My server, Aly, was a tall drink of cool water. Her personality was sparkling, and everything was punctual and served with a smile. The atmosphere was Cali Lux with a little vibe of Old California Class. Don’t even get me started on the peanuts– they were the cherry on top of a great experience. Long story short if I didn’t live in the South Bay I would buy a round trip ticket on southwest LAX just to hang out here for a few hours. Go ASAP! And request Aly R!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Below is the report we sent to the LA Department of Public Health. Who fumigates a restaurant and opens the doors for business on the same day? Be very wary of this business. Type of Incident: Disease Report Description of Incident: A half-dead rat fell right on our plate. The server explained they had fumigated that day and some rats were still dying. The rat was still moving on the plate. Date of Incident: 05/20/2015

I came here for taco Tuesday expecting a fun atmosphere, cheap beer and deliciously large tacos. Well I did get the taco’s but we were kind of forgotten once we got there. Everyone kept to their own section so no mingling. The waitress forgot my dixie cup sized water twice and my tiny beer was too expensive. I was impressed by the taco’s and that’s the only thing making me think I will come back. I had the carne asada tacos and they had great flavor. 2 was more than enough for a big eater like myself. Then when the waitress noticed we were not going to order anymore we were basically ushered out. There wasn’t anyone waiting to get in and thankfully we weren’t really there to watch any games or we would’ve been really irritated. All in all, there are plenty of good places for tacos so not sure it’s worth it…

Great place! They have nuts in a barrel. So help yourself to the peanuts. The drinks were cold and the price was ok … 5 dollars for a bud light . The bathrooms where small but clean. As far as the food. I had a cheese steak sandwich. It was ok. But I would come back.

This was my second time here this week and I love this place. I have had the mozzarella sticks and potato skins and think that the potato skins are better. The mozzarella sticks had a seasoning on them that I thought was just ok. The servings for both were plentiful and enough to share with at least one other person. I have also had the 36th Street burger and the French Dip. The 36th Street is a burger with a fried egg on top. This was a great, but very filling meal. The French Dip was one of the better ones that I have had. The beef reminded me of Philippe’s and tasted very good. I had the regular fries with the burger and steak fries with the sandwich. Though I’m a big fan of steak fries, these weren’t to my liking. The fries are cut very very thick and I think I’ll stick to the regular ones. The person that I ate with had the chicken stir fry and is unwilling to try anything else because of how great it was. This place has a great ambiance, cold beers, and a friendly staff. I have planned enough future meals for at least 3 – 4 more trips.

The bar was empty, and the server still struggled with helping us. The philly cheese steak was dry and consisted of mostly burnt onions. The pastrami was nothing special. Spent $ 3.00 on a coke… Will not be eating there again.

The server was kind of absent minded, asked for my friend’s id twice. Free peanuts near the door when you enter. The wings are alright, comes with watery ranch and celery and carrot sticks. The chicken tenders are better I think because they have more flavors. It comes with a different, thicker, more buttery sauce. We also got the chips, salsa, and guacamole. The chips we kind of hard/stale, the salsa was more than mild. The boyfriend said he liked the guac a lot :) I think this is an alright bar. I think my friend got the cider(there was only one type of cider available) and liked it. I don’t know if peanut shells all over the ground is a normal thing at bars because I haven’t been to many, but I thought it was kind of gross. The seating is too high off the ground and the tables are super small(we didn’t choose to sit in the booths because it was too sunny). I wouldn’t come here again unless I was in the area and it was the only wings place in possible reach.

I’m giving it a 3-star for now because from my one experience there, it was average. It wasn’t a particularly awesome bar but it wasn’t noticeably awful. Went for trivia night and had a good time. Won a large plate of chili cheese fries for naming the most Breaking Bad characters! Drink prices are standard, employees are nice enough, seems pretty average. Will come back and determine whether or not I need to update my rating.

FIVESTARS for this place! The food was delicious. I ordered an omelet that was full of flavor and it came with has browns and the biscuits with gravy(bad, but so good). Our group also ordered French toast to share. The server really had our backs here when she noticed we ordered enough food and made sure to order us a half order of French toast and charged us less! This server was THEEE best! She was very interactive, gave her honest opinion, and was fun overall. Thanks Fuller! :) Overall, place is great! Ambiance is really chill and great service. Drink specials all week long!

Love it! This place just hit the spot when it came to lunch near the beach. Good food, great portions, and nice atmosphere all at a reasonable price. Kaitlyn our waitress was super nice and kept the drinks coming as we were super thirsty and dehydrated. Thanks OB’s!

Good times and good food. It’s the draw for me when it comes to living in or around Southern California’s beach cities. Just wish the parking was better. A Sunday night, a few weeks ago, me and one of my dart teammates ended up looking for a place to grab dinner after a dart blind draw tournament. We ended up at OB’s. And to sum things up — it was good times and good food! Service was great — and even with our server being brand new. She was friendly, helpful and attentive. She’s either served before and or enjoys what she does. Pretty cool vibe as far at the atmosphere goes. Decent food selection too. I opted for the Louisiana Swell Burger. I really liked the combination of flavors — just wished the sausage was spicier. But good nonetheless. I tried a local craft beer that went well with the burger — just don’t remember the name. Pretty mellow IPA. it’s a beach city so parking is what it is. No view of the ocean but it’s across the street and down the hill to the water. Definitely on my list of places to go back to, if I’m in the area looking for food.

My friend celebrated her birthday«taco tuesday» style here. It’s hard to get seating for a large group of people at any typical bar. A few of us got here early enough to get several tables. Everyone had piles of dry roasted peanuts on their tables just munching away. There were peanut shells all over the floor. I didn’t get it… until I saw a huge barrel full of peanuts at the corner. PEANUTSONTHEHOUSE!!! Luckily those peanuts held me over because I was starving. I didn’t want to be rude because I had to wait until my friends were ready to order food… NOT because the service was slow. Most of us got Fish Tacos $ 2.75 each while others got beef and chicken. I REALLYREGRET ordering the fish. — the tacos are huge(I don’t mind the size if it was good but this was a case of quantity over quality) — the fish had a very«fishy» taste(I had to pour a ton of salsa and guac on top) I had my first Moscow Mule here… never had it before but probably not for me. Service was good, our waitress was very nice. Although she messed up on my bill… it wasn’t her fault we had a huge group of people. And she apologized. We parked for free 2 blocks away up on Rosecrans and walked down to the pub. There is also a parking structure with meters down the street.

Baffling slow-to-non-existent service was frustrating. Only Taco Tuesdays is enough to make me give the place 2-stars or consider going back. I popped in for a quick drink(or 5), some eats, and to root against the Heat in the NBA Finals. Finding a seat wasn’t a problem … although the place was seriously busy. The issue was getting drinks and food. The waitress was nice, friendly, and attractive. She just kept forgetting my orders. 50 minutes before food arrived and 25 minutes with an empty beer glass had me heading to the door, but her smile charmed me to stay(guys are suckers). The bartender was even worse. I sat about 3 feet from the bar. He served the table to my right … people in front of me … and the gang to the left, but wouldn’t serve me. Why? Not even when I showed him my empty glass. The people next to me arrived 10 minutes after I did, but got drinks 10 minutes earlier. Meanwhile, a pile of friends came in and grabbed a spot at the bar next to me(even taking a seat from my table) and got their food before any of the other tables. I was literally like WTF. Literally. The only redeeming point in OB’s Pub favor was trying a pair of the huge $ 2.75 tacos that are the stars of Taco Tuesdays. They were indeed yummy and gigantic … almost like open-face burritos. Beef was better than the Carnitas, but not by much. After finishing the tacos and 3 pints of Strand Beach House Amber Ale($ 5.50), I headed down the street in search of better service and more drinks to finish my night.
