They do a half assed job. I asked them to remove ALL of the asbestos in the attic. That doesnt mean just do the bear minimum. If I ask to take it all out, I want it all out, otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose. We started our remodel project after Hi-​Tech came out to remove the asbestos and we soon learned they they only removed the duct in the attic, but not the registers that we connected to the ducts that were COVERED in asbestos. When i brought this to Steve’s attention, he was ready with his canned angry response… he must get a lot of call backs. I asked him to come back out and give me a quote to pull the rest out and he never showed. All I wanted was an honest company to do the job without a hassel, that’s not what I got.

Got the job! Had no issues. Good job!

DO NOT waste your time!!! If I could rate them 0 stars, I would. Extremely unprofessional, especially Steve who runs this company. I believe that a lot of the positive reviews are from their employees. Look elsewhere for these services.

As a home inspector I refer Steve at Hi-​Tech to any clients in need of Asbestos removal. They have been around for years and have competitive pricing. They do great work, only good experiences with Hi-​Tech, highly recommend.

I am buying a home with asbestos in the ducting. I needed a quote for asbestos abatement. I was skeptical about this company when they gave me a single page quote with no itemization of their cost and detailed scope of the work. I needed the breakdown because I was sharing the cost with the seller. When I asked hi tech if they could give me a breakdown of the cost, they started giving me a load of excuses. The estimator was either «in the field, out of the the office, or out to lunch.» In a panic, the office secretary started making statements such as «why are we going to go through the trouble of rewriting this when we don’t even know if we have the job.» They eventually agreed over the phone to rewrite the quote and never sent it to me. I then let them know that I went with another company and the only response I got was «excellent.»
I guess business is so good that they don’t need to worry about poor customer service. Hey, it happens, and a good reason to find an upcoming business that needs contracts and is willing to work for it.
The company I decided to go with doesn’t have the best reviews on Unilocal but has a 3 page contract that includes the breakdown of the quote, what to expect from them, a list of things that they can and cannot do by law, a timeline, and all legal procedures that they are required to follow during the removal. Hopefully this all turns out well!

We needed abatement of our popcorn ceiling. We had more than 8 estimates. Steve was highly professional, patient, and expeditious. Hi– tech’s prices were affordable as well. I would highly recommend this company. They were able to squeeze us into their busy schedule and they took good care to leave ceiling in excellent condition. Thanks Hi-​Tech!

I ended up not working with Hi-​Tech after Steve, the owner, make numerous gaffs that left me questioning his integrity and business. Now that I have dealt with this company, I honestly believe that many of the reviews on here are from either contractors or employees. My experience was very similar with Chris Q.‘s, which I think might have to do with us both being women since Steve told me I had «flown off the handle twice now» when I questioned his (incorrect) bid and asked questions. He also laughed and said «I’m just trying to help you» when he corrected an issue with his incorrect bid that led to a higher price and a change in what we had agreed to in terms of the scope of work and schedule. He also told me that I was «doing him a favor» when I said we couldn’t work with him after the supposedly 1 day job with minimal drywall breakage became a 2 day job that included a hotel stay, moving furniture, taking my cat to a hotel, and expansive drywall opening that would be left open for nearly 2 weeks (even though I had asked about this the day prior). Did I mention that I woke up 3 children under the age of 7 including a 4 month old in order to be ready for this work to be done and to leave the house at 8am on a Saturday while my husband was gone? Yep, it was super fun.
It’s not that the scope of the job changed or more money would be required; it was that Steve hadn’t quoted the job correctly twice, wouldn’t come out to my house as he said he would, and he had the audacity to yell at me when I told him that we couldn’t do business with him in this manner. To top it off, his office staff (Courtney, who is very helpful and very nice) sent a bill to me on Monday morning since Steve never communicated to her that the job wasn’t done. I, the burned customer, had to call her to tell her what had happened. It’s no wonder his Office Manager quit on short notice. I seriously feel badly for his employees.
Long story short, the testing company recommended Hi-​Tech and we went with them since the testing company was great. Spare yourself the stress and horrible customer service complete with insults. Oh, and the company I found is doing the job for ½ the price and is highly recommended by my HVAC company. Do yourself a favor and hi tail it away from Hi Tech.

Awesome company. I just got done with a remodel/​add on and used them. It was a pleasure dealing with them! This is how a business should preform. I will use them again and recommend everyone else does!!!

I have been using Hi Tech Environmental for years. They always have had competitive pricing. I never have to worry about change orders or call backs with them. They do the job right the first time. Being a general contractor and running multiple jobs at once, having great sub contractors makes my job so much easier.
