Phenomenal work! I needed a two-layer dress hemmed very last minute. For a wedding. She was happy to help me and she did a perfect job! Her work is flawless and I couldn’t have been more happy to have found her. I would absolutely recommend.

I brought 4 pairs of dress slacks and 2 blouses to be sized down. The fittings were done quickly and the garments were ready in a week. They all fit perfectly. The seams are finished beautifully. I will be bringing more items to her. Cheaper than buying new. So before you give away clothes especially things you like consider having them altered by Helen’s team. Price was about $ 15.00 per piece. All slacks were lined.

I’ve been going to Helen for more than a year now, and have brought enough variety for alterations that I can safely say I’d trust her with anything. This is a very different experience than going to a dry cleaner for alterations. Helen greets you, then has you try everything on(unless you have clear directions like hem to x” inseam), and does some quick marking or pinning. This provides a chance to discuss my needs and her plan, which is terrific because what I may ask for may not be feasible. By way of example, I recently brought in a stretch cotton jacket that needed to be taken in. Rather than taking it in at the visibly designed front or back seams, she suggested taking it in from under the arms. It was a great solution that worked well. I don’t even ask her about prices — it always seems to work out to roughly $ 10/piece, whether it’s taking things in or hemming or fixing waistlines. Time frame is usually 1 – 2 wks depending on how much you bring in. I’ve never had any issues with things not being ready when promised. Very professional. Remember — cash and checks only!

This woman was a dressmaker at one time and it shows, she does great work. She has altered two different bridesmaid dresses for me and made both fit like a glove. You couldn’t even tell from the outside or inside of the dress that it had been tailored. She is now the ONLY person I will let touch my dresses. She is fast and does a wonderful job. So nice to have a great tailor near by.

Very poor customer service. I went to get my measurements for a blazer and have some pants taken in, but she wouldn’t take my measurements. No way I’ll ever give her my business or recommend her to anyone. She may be quick there is something to be said for customer service.

Needed the sleeves done on a sport coat before leaving on a trip. Tried a couple tailors who were talking weeks, I was leaving in days. I stopped by on a Tuesday and she had the jacket ready the next day. Great work, reasonable prices and fast turnaround. What more could you want! Currently have a growing pile of clothes that I’m planning to bring up to her to work her magic on.

I’ve been to a few tailor in Manchester and Helen is by far the best and most affordable. Being petite, I need almost all my clothes altered and it’s always a beautiful job.

I can’t believe no one has written a review yet! Oh well, gotta start somewhere. I live in Boston and found Helen’s while my parents still lived in NH. She is SOGOOD that every month or so I climb in the car with my iPod and a Dunks coffee and head on up to Manch! She can do ANYTHING — I have literally bought things from stores, sketched out what I WANT it to look like, taken the article of clothing and sketch to her and VOILA! Done to perfection. She has taken thing in for me, let things out, shortened, re-worked, chopped in half, combined two things, EVERYTHING! The fact that she is a dressmaker is key. For example, there was a dress on clearance at Filenes Basement that I was INLOVE with, but it was a size 8. I am a size 00. Problem? Not for Helen! Took the whole thing apart and re-darted it and fit it to me perfectly. I always get compliments that things«fit me beautifully» which I always laugh about because, besides T-Shirts, there isn’t a single article of clothing in my wardrobe that she hasn’t touched. Price = CHEAP, esp compared to Boston tailors. She worked on 18 pieces for me, ranging from party dresses, suits, jeans, and tops in two weeks for $ 200. That is an average of appx. $ 10 an item! Absolutely do not bother going anywhere else — if I am willing to drive the hour to get things done right than you can make the trip! PS she doesn’t take credit cards so make sure to bring cash or a check!
