Coffee Danny?
Picture it; the logo has a nice steamy coffee cup wrapped around the letters… tell me what you think this place specializes in? Coffee?
Coffee Danny opened a few months ago on route 28 in Manassas. Since the day it opened I’ve been dying to stop by, but since I am not a morning person and I am always running late, I have never had the chance… until Saturday.
I stopped in looking for coffee… something exotic if you will. I had a feeling this place had a bit of Latino flair and I had high hopes that I could find the elusive Cuban Cordito here. WRONG!
I was the only person there besides the two women behind the counter. I was looking up at the menu, searching for the coffee when I finally found it. Coffee… $ 1.25.
Hmmm. Well, not really what I was shooting for but I decided since I was there I would grab a little breakfast. There were three breakfast options; a platter of eggs, beans, toast and fruit, but that wouldn’t have gone over very well while I was driving, or a beef or chicken sandwich. I opted for the chicken… expecting a breakfast type chicken sandwich I was pretty floored when I got in my car and opened up a large roll with grilled chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and a purple smear of some sort of mayo based spread.
Are you as confused as I was yet?
Now… don’t get me wrong, that sandwich was actually really quite good, just not what I was expecting at 7:30 in the morning.
In addition to having only drip coffee and random breakfast sandwiches, there are also about five different taco options and five or so ceiveche options.
I am still utterly confused by the title of this restaurant, it seems to me that they are more of a quick lunch spot than a coffee house, none the less, the sandwich I did have was pretty good. The drip coffee… eh, I wasn’t thrilled, it would have been nice to have a liquid creamer option rather than the powder stuff.
Also, while I was there, the two non English speaking ladies (who were very sweet and tried very hard to make sure we were both on the same page with my order) went to get the guy in the back. Danny maybe? Anyhow, he was very nice and was eager to get my order ready for me… but he stared a bit. Perhaps he was confused at the random white woman ordering a chicken sub for breakfast! Giggles!

Coffee Danny is more than just coffee.
This is a Latino style deli… that also serves coffee.
You only get one kind, what ever Danny is brewing that day.
And you only get one size… the dollar and a quarter size.
Nothing too special.
I didn’t have time to eat but the menu looked interesting.
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
They have several different types of cerviche so I shall return
