John’s Pizza Works

Wings are insane. Cooked perfect, good size (not skinny) and sauce is consistent.
Haven’t been in 6 years and it’s almost exactly how I remembered it. Pizza was really good with the sauce being excellent. The dough was a little soft in the middle, but I was not complaining at all.
Only gripe I have is if there are food/​drink specials at the adjoining saloon you might want them to match. Taco Tues in the saloon was WAY more cost efficient then the pizza/​wings/​pitcher for $ 59. Even with that said, I enjoy John’s each time I come to Mammoth.

The pizza was great and Hector hooked it up. Will definitely go back next time I go to Mammoth!

LOVE this place!!! Came here for the second time this past weekend and again it didn’t disappoint. Seriously some of the best pizza we have ever had. The atmosphere is awesome and the staff is GREAT!!! Special thanks to Sam and Jason… you two ROCK!!! Can’t wait for our next trip up to Mammoth so we can come back in and get our grub on again :)

Amazing pizza! No joke some of the best I have ever had. Great atmosphere also. We had a huge group show up and Hector was awesome! Totally accommodating.

Pizza, pasta, wedge salad, Lagunitas on tap, house Chardonnay and ice cream bar was delish! Hector took great care of us by being quick and friendly. We will definitely be back.

John’s is the best sports bar in Mammoth… great wings and pizza and plenty of large TV’s…

Great place for food and drinks. One of the few spots in Mammoth that is open late. The pizzas, wings, and pastas are awesome and made to order. They have a large dining room with giant flat screens and the same food served at John’s can be ordered next door at the Saloon place. The dining rooms are actually connected. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is also outdoor seating if you’re not eating here in the winter that’s an option.

Pizza was pretty delicious. Wings were bomb and so was the ranch dressing! Cesar salad sucked! Wanted to order a drink from the bar but they were only from the waitresses if your lucky enough to get a table on the side with the bar :(.
Downside: you have to grab your own table… no hostess so people stand around like vultures waiting for people to leave to get one. Then once you get one you still have to go to the counter to order. Waitresses will come to your table ONLY if your lucky enough to get a table in the bar side! Packed on weekends!

This place is always a must go place when in Mammoth. The bus/​shuttle stops right in front of this place, so easy to locate from wherever you are staying. The wings are perfect and what you want after a day in the snow. The pizza isn’t the best I’ve had, but it is especially good for the area. They have pitchers of beer on tap and a water station to fill up your glasses. They have some good HD flat screen TVs to watch the games, and they have a handful of video games and pinball to satisfy the gamers in your bunch. Warning: The «giant» or extra large pizza is pretty big and the 4 of us couldn’t finish it (2 guys, 2 girls), but the shuttle driver sure appreciated the leftovers we brought for him.

Been coming here for about 10 years now and I’ll try to keep this review as PG as possible.
So the pizza arrives and it stares. It looks at me with those big pepperoni eyes, waiting for me to grab a slice. And as I grab that first slice, I can hear the cheese sizzling, and oozing off the sides; holding on to the other slices for dear life.
It was the moment of truth.
The First Bite: Blinded by a bright light… an Angel descended down from heaven holding a pizza. It was Johns Pizza.
The Second Bite: Jesus said to john «I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger.» John 6:35
The Third Bite: Light starts to fade.
The Fourth Bite: I’m back at John’s Pizza… grabbing my second slice

This place was fantastic! After leaving a bad restaurant, we called over to John’s and talked to Hector about reserving a spot during the AFC Championship. Hector not only said he would do his best… but we got an amazing table right in front of the TV. The food and service were great! Plus they have ice cream… and an arcade. Would highly recommend. Will most definitely be back!

I’ve been in the service industry my whole life. Never. I mean never did I get such perfect service. Everyone here was on point! The star employee was a young lady named SAM! She was so good!!! I’m very impressed with this place:) thank you very much! The crew is so solid!

WOW. I travel a lot and I love pizza, but the pizza supreme, minus the bell peepers and added garlic was the BEST I’ve had.
The service was great and Vincent the bar tender was right on everything.
Kaylee our server was right there with everything we needed and her personality was what made our evening there.
So I know that we will ALWAYS be going back.

I’ve been coming to Mammoth since I was a child, and one of my favorite things about this family trip, now that I’m an adult, is that I get to spend a few days eating my mother’s cooking at almost every meal. Once in a while, though, it’s good to mix things up – it gives my mom a break, and also sometimes everyone just wants pizza. We ordered dinner in from John’s Pizza Works when we were in town last weekend, and it was a pretty decent delivery meal.
I can’t comment on the venue or service, as I wasn’t even in charge of ordering, but the food came when it was supposed to, with everything correct in our order. We got a nice spread of pizzas supplemented with salad, onion rings, chicken wings, and spaghetti.
The pizza was solid, not great but very satisfying. Each slice was hefty with a thick crust and a lot of grease and cheese. The BBQ chicken was tasty, topped with BBQ sauce, chicken, smoked gouda, mozzarella, cilantro, and red onion. Amply sauced, with good hunks of chicken and some brightness from the cilantro and onion. This was one of John’s pre-​set pizza combinations. I also enjoyed a build-​your-​own pizza with sausage, pepperoni, and jalapeño – hard to go wrong with all that.
The wings were great, tender and well drowned in spicy sauce. They were extremely messy. At least one large napkin or one ruined shirt per wing. I also tried some of the spaghetti in marinara sauce, but it was pretty terrible. I liked the sauce fine – it was standard red sauce, which is almost always okay – but the pasta was cooked way too soft, like no-need-to-chew-because-it’s-noodle-shaped-mush soft. It’s not like I need a pizza delivery joint to get snobby about cooking their pasta al dente. I’ve had plenty of cafeteria pasta in my life that’s been better than this.
Anyway, John’s has nothing on my mom’s cooking, but it’s a fine place to get delivery for your Mammoth pizza parties. I ate my full and raided the fridge at midnight. I’d probably be down to order from here again.

The Food was Awesome!!! The pizza is Delicious. It has a nice crisp crust, and the cheese is rich and Creamy. The wings are World class for sure.
I’m giving them three Stars for the Horrible Shrew of a person with the Cat eyes and the Hochie eyebrows that took our order at the Counter.
We threw a Surprise birthday party for my Fiancé here and She was snappy and rude when taking our order and when it came up wrong was born t understanding when we picked it up.

I was okay with it because it’s was Slammed and we all have bad days.
But!!!
When our Party left we mingled in with another departing party and I heard her say «see you later thanks for coming» to which I replied «Thank you. Have a nice day!!» Then as I turned to walk out she said. I wasn’t talking to you…
I know the holidays can be tasking on wait staff. But her Nasty Attitude really sealed the deal on me and my family not retuning to this pizzeria anytime in the near future.

Johns is legit! Vinny the bartender is awesome and welcoming as they come. I would recommend Outlaws to anyone regardless of age as everyone was super accommodating and pleasant. Value was definitely there and these guys are definitely on point!

Fresh ingredients, fast, and very good customer service by hector. You won’t be disappointed

I ordered the House Special and it was AMAZING!!!
Baked to perfection, and they were super generous with the toppings!!! It’s the best pizza I’ve had in a while and that’s saying a lot since I eat A LOTTTTTT of pizza!!! Hahah
The staff here is so awesome and friendly!
I was helped by Hector and he was great! I’m not sure if he’s a manager but he should be! Hector was genuinely nice and super patient! Since I’m super indecisive! :P
