An excellent Thai place. Service is superb. Food is above average. A remarkable selection. I do not know how they it. Very creative. The place would be packed in Manhattan.

The worst thai food ever! Ordered two different curry dishes. Both were exactly the same extremely watery sauce except one had peanuts in it. The former owners must have sold it because no one could ever say this place is good. What a waste of $ 40 and chewing time. I am apologizing to my intestines for making them digest such crappy food.

I’d seen this place driving up and down Boston Post, finally tried it, and I’m very happy I did! When we arrived, they had just opened so we had the waitress all to ourselves. She was cheerful and efficient — kept our waters filled and cleared the table in a timely manner. My go-to Thai dish is Pad Thai and this ranks towards the top! Plus, it was a decent portion at a decent price($ 12). We also had the curry puff and the panang curry, both good but we think the curry puff was fried earlier and just reheated in the microwave. That was our only complaint. Décor is cute, parking is easy in the back lot.

I hate to give a restaurant 3 stars rating when their food deserves 4 stars. The 1 star deduction is for the service and the price. I met up with my girlfriend and her hubby on a Friday night after work. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived. We each ordered an entrée, crab meat fried rice, spicy eggplant basil, and Pad See Ew with Tofu. I totally agree with the other reviews, the portion is definitely small with the price they charge you. We had to order a Panang Curry with Beef halfway during our dinner because we know the portion was not going to be enough. The curry comes with barely 5 slices of beef, and not much bell peppers either. Call me cheap, but I think that’s too expensive unless those are some grade A beef. Service is not as nice as how the restaurant looks. We were chatting after dinner and we had the feeling that they want to get us out because they didn’t wait much to give us the bill. Like I mentioned, the restaurant was not busy at all. At 9pm, the waitress told us they need to close so we need to pay. I am sure even in Mamaroneck, a thai restaurant wouldn’t close at 9pm on a Friday night.

The worst service ever. We used to love this place and order delivery all the time. But now it has new ownership and when we called upset that one of our favorite dishes tasted like crap and the quality of the veggies in the curry was inferior to the past they got mad at us and told us we were lying. We know what we used to get and we know they went downhill around 2014. We’ve given them many many more tries, but the quality has not improved and they are extremely rude on the phone. Try one of the other places in the area and don’t believe any of the positive reviews from a few years ago.

We have ordered delivery from Spicy Shallot several times. Their pad Thai and panang curry are very good. We have also gotten other noodle dishes but they don’t compare to the classics. The only complaint I have is that the level spice from order to order can vary greatly. One time being a manageable amount of heat and other times being a bit to much heat. But the flavor is always right one.

I have been meaning to try Spicy Shallot for a long time since I moved here. I’m from NYC, and a local Thai restaurant there was so fantastic. I wanted the next new great Thai place. I was happy with my experience. On a Sunday at 1pm, it was empty. The waitress told us that they didn’t do the lunch special on this day, which was fine. The place was clean and modern. The music was a tad slow, which didn’t match the appeal of the restaurant. Not a big deal. Our drinks came with straw paper shaped as roses. Very cute! I ordered the chicken Thai fried rice. It was AMAZING. It tastes exactly like I had in NYC. Yummmm! The Thai iced coffee was okay. It didn’t really have milk in it(like other places do) so be careful if you don’t like strong coffee. The waitress was nice, yet somewhat bland? Does that make sense? We will Be back.

Average Thai cuisine. Ironically, I wish the food was spicier. With a name like Spicy Shallot, I would expect my tongue to explode, but alas, I was underwhelmed. The salad was average. The meat was, again, average. Still looking for a local Thai place to knock my socks off.

Best Thai restaurant here at Westchester. We don’t have to drive to Queens anymore. The service was very good and the food was very delicious. Our party of four had their pork sausage, papaya salad, pad Thai, flank steak, minced pork fried rice, Malay chicken curry, and their purple rice pudding. Yum yum yum. Everything was so tasty except for some tiny flaws. The Thai iced tea was big, but we had to ask for more milk/cream because it was too strong. The purple rice pudding could also have had a little bit more coconut cream, and the flank steak was served at room temperature. We wished it was a little bit warmer. We would go back again and would recommend it to our friends.

Keep an eye on this little and beautiful Thai restaurant Personnel is reflecting once again the true Thai hospitality and kindness I’m not Thai, but been raised in a Thai family and of course speaks Thai I ordered a lot of food in This place, only for me! He he he 5 dishes that I exploded when I reached home Cooked correctly !! Tasty and fresh !! I asked the lovely girl to cook it extremely spicy, and repeated her that she don’t have to be scared and make it very very spicy But she did it light spice, thinking maybe I have another thought of hot !! But this is not a big deal Go ahead with this place, really worth it, is sober, calm and clean, personnel are very nice and smily, and the food is delicious Once again, for America is correct, what is more or less get close to the real Thai taste Long life to this pretty place that has a nice parking lot behind the restaurant and a back door that brings you straight in Thailand

I live in Jackson heights and Larchmont, and I’m really happy both places have the two restaurants of Spicy shallot . I love your Khua Gai a lot… it’s so far my standard for that dish and I always have my Lunch delivered every week. But seriously tho… what’s with this plastic thing mixed up with my dish? I almost swallowed and choked on it :/

My wife and myself took a trip from Queens all the way to Westchester County to eat in this restaurant based on the reviews and to meet a couple of friends who lived in the area. Honestly, the food was just ok. It is, and never will be good as the original Spicy Shallot in Queens. I was disappointed they did not have the Pearl Harbor like the original one. The Pad Thai was good so I have to give them that. The waitress who served us looked like she had no personality. They were prompt with the food which was good. After all, we were the ONLY customers in the whole restaurant. Why should I drive 45 minutes to eat Thai Food when the best is only 5 minutes away from me? Next time I will tell my friends to come to Queens instead. :)

So we stopped by SS2 on a Monday night. There was no one there. While some enjoy dining in a restaurant all themselves– I find it eerie and just flat out weird. I like to hear some hustle and bustle, incoherent conversations, bottles clanking, forks clinking on plates etc. Before even ordering our drinks, there was an overwhelming feeling of impending doom. But that quickly dissipated. The wait staff are really nice and warm. They come to you with smiles and are never intrusive the entire meal. They check waters, ask if you need refills but do so with taste. The décor didn’t match your standard Thai restaurants with carved sandalwood décor and over the top Buddha statues. It was a restaurant with appropriate light, nice furnishings, and coordinating colors. We enjoyed it. Now to the most important part– the grub. We ordered the Pineapple fried rice, Papaya salad, Thai Skirt steak. I personally found everything but the Pineapple fried rice was stellar. The rice was missing that pop of curry flavor we enjoy from restaurants such as Thai Basil in Greenwich but it was still tasty in its own right. The skirt steak was awesome. Grilled perfectly with hints of ginger/chilli/sweetness. The winner was the papaya salad. This was masterful! It was maybe the best salad I’ve ever had. You have to enjoy spice in your greens however. If not– disregard my praise for it. If you do accept a well seasoned plate of greens then by all means order it– I think you’ll be pleased. Overall, it was a good experience and we believe we’ll be back.

This was an amazing find in the area. There was a Thai place that got taken over and the décor was redone. It went from basic to lounge chic, which really comes through during the darker hours of the day. The service is kind and swift but the real attraction is the food. This is very authentic if you ask for«Thai style» but be ready for some spice. Or you can get hot sauce and chopped chilly and add it on top. The best thing I have had so far is the lettuce wraps. It’s miles ahead of anything I have ever had anywhere else. The curries are also excellent with the perfect consistency. The last item I tried was the whole fried fish — Snapper — YUM! I have been 3 times in 3 weeks and I think it will be a weekly visit until we’ve been through most of the menu.

This is basically the best thai restaurant in the new rochelle, larchmont area. There is a decent amount of parking in the back and I usually don’t have much trouble getting a seat here. In the six times that I’ve been here, the most memorable entrée that I’ve tasted was prik Khing shrimp, spicy basil fried rice and the pad see ew. This place will not have the best thai you’ll ever have, but it’s still pretty dam good. Dessert selection is a mix of «thai inspired» dishes and a chocolate lava cake(which is delicious).

This is the best Thai restaurant in this area! If u love spicy food, they will serve u a really really spicy dish! They serve authentic Thai food. I would recommend papaya salad, tom yam, Laab and Pad Thai. By the way, the dessert, chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice-cream is also the best! Great ambience, great service and great food. Guaranteed by Thai people ;)
