I cannot believe that in all the time I have visited Toshis I’ve yet to write a review! The most likely reason for this is because the food is gone before I can take a photo of the flavorful deliciousness. Toshi’s is a little hidden gem here in Lynnwood but if you’re looking to dine in, you may have to wait for the one and only table in the little take out shop. Each order takes approximately 10 minutes and is prepared by the owner himself who takes pride in his secret to a delicious teriyaki, far superior than all. From the delicious grilled meat, chicken, and shrimp to the homemade secret sauce… this place is fantastic! Portion sizes are enormous and I usually substitute the salad for more rice. Plenty of food for 2 people with left overs… give Toshi’s a try, you won’t be sorry.

Poor Heather! Give it another try and just order the spicy Teriyaki. You dont need to order the most expensive dish at every restaurant. Who goes to a teriyaki place and orders shrimp? When you go to places like these, you really need to judge it by what it is. A cheap Teriyaki fast food ish restaurant that is practically owned and operated by one guy –who in my experiences has been kind and laid back in all our interactions. He gladly substitutes portion sizes and if you think the salad could be doused in vinager, he will gladly replace it. 7 bucks gets you a nice huge of rice, meat and veggies. I always order spicy chicken and it makes me sweat which i like. Sure, the place is small with one entire table. But i give props to this guy for sticking it out and producing quality food at very low prices. The same dish i typically get is 4 dollars higher at my other usual spots. I found this place because it is so close to work. And i suggest it to anyone looking for fast, friendly, and affordable. Oh and Heather, your review was 3 years ago. So dont take it personally. I’ve read many reviews of yours and others that i agree with but disagree with too. Cheers and happy dining!

Very tasty teriyaki, I work close by for almost 10 years and had lunch there a lot. Also I have ordered meat from him for my parties before. Yes maybe there are no place to sit down for lunch, but great for take outs.

My roommate and I have a quest to try every teriyaki joint in the area since we just moved up to Lynnwood. I popped in to Toshi’s to check it off the list and grab some take out. First off, the place was empty, and the guy behind the counter, instead of acknowledging my presence just stared boredly around while I looked over the menu. No hello, not even a half-hearted nod. The décor was nonexistent, in fact I don’t even remember if there was more than one rundown picnic-type bench in the store. However that means little to me when judging the quality of an eatery. Now to the food: I ordered the beef short rib plate, which is hard to do very poorly. The meat was somehow able to be mostly fat, and yet still dry, tough and stringy. I am not sure if the meat was old or just had been left out or something but even the bones looked desiccated. The flavors were off in that way that makes you wonder if you’re going to regret your decision later. The rice was over –and unevenly– cooked, but also weirdly dry, some the melted rice clumps stuck together to form little almost gnocchi-like mounds, and there was an underlying bitterness to the whole dish(an odd bitterness too, not just like burnt food or vinegar, but somewhat like the undertones of a barn). Even the salad was unpalatable. I was raised Southern and we are taught to finish our food, but I could not bring myself to do so today. Luckily the dog had no such problems. Will not be visiting here again.

This is one of my «Go Too» places to get a quick lunch in a pinch. My kids like it for dinner on occasion. The place is clean, I guess some people can’t see beyond the décor. It is a walk in/dine out teriyaki place. I have been going here for over 20 years and it is consistent. Mike knows my name by my order when I phone it in. Fast, Friendly, and enough food for two meals. I will always be a loyal customer.

3−10−14. Odd location, could use new floor covering. Its clean and functional. Now to the important stuff. The kitchen is just off the dining area and the owner Mike invited me to have a look see for myself after the comments on Unilocal.I am fine with the cleanliness and upkeep. The steak and shrimp were above the teriyaki industry standards, the rice was fresh and the salad was crunchy with a great house dressing. The price is right on. If you need fancy décor just get take out. If you want a good time stop by and get your fill from the large portions. While eating there, there were 5 regular patrons who came in for food and were genuinely pleased with the place. Mike gets 4 atta boys just for the job he does. We will be back.

This place is IT, the original! Sorry if the prissy types are a bit queasy about«appearances», but if you suspect there are health violations, why haven’t you REPORTED them? I have eaten here MANYMANYTIMES, NEVER gotten sick once! The food is delicious, especially the beef, tender and juicy and flavorful. The sauce is PERFECT! Not too salty, not too sweet, just right – in fact, even though I live in Marysville we drive the extra distance to buy the sauce from THIS Toshi’s! Better than anyplace else, and I love to use the sauce on my own grilled meats at home.

Horribly, frighteningly unclean. Cooking and food prep area is open to the seating area. We took our family for a quick lunch and found only an old outdoor picnic table to eat from at the back of the shop. However, the eating area was right next to a kitchen prep area featuring a disgusting cutting board covered in what appeared to be raw, pink chicken juices. And there were two knives sitting right on top. Really? Raw chicken goo two paces from where I’m supposed to eat my lunch? Guy behind the counter had no apron on, no gloves for cooking food after handling cash at the till, and he allowed customers to traipse through the kitchen to go to the restroom. The floors were filthy dirty and very sticky… don’t you dare look in those heater vents. Ugh. DONOTEATATTHISRUNDOWNSHACK. Sanitation is completely lacking, cleanliness is non-existent, and I’d be willing to bet they don’t have a single cleaning supply in that joint. Food is overpriced mediocrity, but frankly we lost our appetites after seeing too much of the food prep right out in the open dining room. Never going back.

Chicken was dry, the sauce was too salty and thin. Teriyaki places are littered over every strip mall in lynnwood, and no one has the incentive to step up their game. I really want to start an on line gambling racket where people can bet money on how many days it takes for these places to go out of business, really.

AVOIDATALLCOSTS. Just threw away the most disgusting meal i’ve ever bought. Save yourself the money and frustration. Should have known better from the shitty restaurant, super. dirty, limited menu and shock when i ordered the shrimp. Shrimp uncleaned and had shells on. Literally inedible. Teriyaki salad should be sweet, not doused in vinegar. Boyfriend got ribs and portions were so small. What he did get tasted awful. Went out because I didnt feel like cooking. Now im out my money and still have to cook. Disgusting restuarant and disgusting inedible food. So upset. AVOIDTHISGARBAGE. There is wayyyy better teriyaki anywhere. First time other Unilocal users have led me astray.

Think its more suited for take out, but we’ve eating in twice now. Not much in the way of seating or restaurant interior, the only reason for 4 star. The food here is top notch, per-portions are huge. We split a combo for under ten bucks and we are both very satisfied, and full. Flavors are great, everything nicely grilled, moist sticky white rice, the salad is like slaw. Always leave a clean plate, we will definitely return again.

Very tasty teriyaki. The steak teriyaki is real tender and a fresh grilled taste. The salad is more like a slaw with a sweet vinegary dressing Pretty much a take out only and don’t let the outside of the building fool you they are cooking up some good stuff in there.

Delicious teriyaki, great grilled flavor. Definitely a take-out only, Don’t expect atmosphere or even to sit.
