While attending a concert in the local park we thought we would grab a bite outside the venue. We picked Sandwich King because it was close. Well that was a mistake. We ordered an Italian plus a cheese steak sub. The Italian came right out and we expected to wait a little wait to cook the meat. We waited and waited. There were two lumps of steak on the grill and no one attending to it. An order was taken, and one was given it. There seemed to be confusion among the three men behind the counter. We inquired about the cheese steak and all of a sudden a sub was placed in a bag and handed to us. We asked cheeses steak? Yes they replied. But we noted the two lumps of steak were still unattended on the grill. As you may have guessed, we did not get a cheese steak sub. We were already back at the park and the concert started otherwise I would have gone back.

I’m writing this review as a previous employee. As soon as the new owner Khan took over he posted an ad on Craigslist looking for help to which I applied and started the next week. The old owner Jimmy sold the place but his father still works there. Let me start with a reminder that the old man wasn’t the owner anymore but felt like he was, he makes the meatballs and many times while working I would see him rolling up the meatballs without gloves and right after using the bathroom without washing his hands, after picking his nose and after using the mop. If you’ve ever ordered and gotten a sub that was cut in half or that had a piece missing at the end it’s because they have a rat/mouse problem. The rats and mice eat the bread and instead of calling an exterminator or throwing out the bread he decides to just cut off the end the mouse/rat ate and serve it anyways. The new owner khan knows about this and ignores it. After I left he hired some girl to work the register and as it turns out she’s a heroine addict. Long story short when I got there the place already had problems but now the prices have gone up, they still have an infestation problem and the employees are addicts. The only thing positive I would have to say about working at this place was the drivers. All very nice and friendly people. I saw a couple complaints about delivery time and the food being cold and with that I just want you guys to keep in mind that it’s the kitchen running the show. Sometimes they would get so many orders and get backed up, also with deliveries please keep in mind the traffic and how far away you live. After working here and seeing how their food is prepared I would not feed my dog this food!

Literally the rudest people, whenever you call they are insanely rude and yell at you, and if you ever go inside the place it’s dirty and smells bad

I have been going to Sandwich King for many years. I strongly feel it is the most underrated hidden sub shop in Lowell. The prices are fantastic and the food(subs, pizza and seafood!) is always excellent and delicious. They have the best sandwich rolls around(I always ask to have my sub toasted). The employees behind the counter are always polite and courteous. Place is small, quaint, best for take out, due to limited parking and seating. My brother who visits me from New Jersey makes this his first stop every time. Great food and prices, long live Sandwich King!!!

An Italian sub, a steak-bomb, cajun fries, and wings all sound great to an empty stomach. But losing your appetite after having to wait OVER an hour for delivery is ridiculous. I suggest you to save yourself from the disappointment and take the drive to pick up your food rather than receiving cold soggy food an hour later…

I love this place, best pizza, subs, wings & so much more… I ate here for the first time 27 years ago, and every time I come home to visit, my visit is not complete with out stopping by here and at least having a toasted steak & cheese w/lettuce, pickle and mayo!..

Mostly mediocre experience, with the food quality being average at best. Pizza was just barely better than you’d get out of the freezer aisle at the store… got a 4 way with pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, and onions, but I didn’t see anything but olives and onions. Cheese quality was pretty poor too(who puts shredded cheddar on a pizza??). Wings were the worst part — soggy, drowned in sauce, and cold, Plus, no bleu cheese. Also got an Italian sub… it was covered in pickles(I pulled off 34 — literally), and just didn’t impress me. Despite what Unilocal says they DONOT take anything but cash. Prices were very reasonable, which probably explains the quality of food. Also, everybody was pretty nice. If I ever go back here, it will be out of convenience.

We’ve only eaten here twice, and it was pizza both times, so I can’t fairly judge their sandwiches. Their pizza is perfectly fine — nothing spectacular. My husband appreciated the amount and variety of meat on their meat lovers — I did not find the spinach very fresh on the Mediterranean, it seemed canned. Their crust is VERY good. Their prices are phenomenal — but they do only take cash.

Awesome food all around. Family owned and operated for many years. I’m a huge fan of their meatball subs, awesome bread. Their spicy fries are 2nd to none. If you haven’t yet, you need to eat here. I don’t believe they deliver and I think they are cash only.

A traditional good olé«Mom and Pop» type sub and pizza shop. Great portions and excellent prices. I totally recommend the teriyaki steak and cheese.
