Tim Faulkner Gallery

Very cool gallery and event space. They apparently do arts related events. They also have quite a bit of art for sale. It’s pretty high priced but it’s still pretty cool.
I did a dance collective event here last year and it was really neat. Just be prepared in the warm months… the AC is kind of non existing.

My girlfriend and I attended a poetry/​masquerade event at the gallery a few weeks ago. Amazing, spacious space right off downtown Louisville; it’s a surprise, every turn you make. One con, one entrance, that map apps direct you to, isn’t wheelchair accessible.

I went her for a specific event (an adult spelling bee) and was super glad that I could actually check out the rest of the gallery. The event itself was held in a large hall in the back which was just an awesome space. They have a small bar, a stage, and of course the walls are covered in art. There are strings of light on the ceiling and a creepy mustachioed clown over an arched entrance. The bathrooms honestly weirded me out a bit as the stalls don’t have doors, but curtains. The gallery itself has an eclectic collection of pieces as well as actual studios for specific artists that when they would be there, I would think you could see them at work. All in all a great hidden gem to check out.

An amazing facility and first into an area just west of Downtown Louisville that has been unfairly neglected by the community-​at-​large, but that is about to change. I wandered into TFG with a Portland Investment Initiative insider who was already friendly with the proprietors (Tim and Margaret). They were cleaning up after hosting what appeared to have been a phenomenal private event for Jim Beam. This building has excellent bones, as the saying goes, and the art work (it is a gallery, right?) is phenomenal. Ground zero for Louisville’s past and one hopes, future.

Enlightening art gallery serving Louisville with its rich artistic culture. Came here tonight for the ‘Music Makes the City’ event and fell in love. I could spend a whole day here. And I really felt like I was being part of history listening to the contemporary music performed by the Louisville orchestra. Perfect scene, architecture, artwork, and the much needed coffee shop that complete the look. The added music venue plays as a bonus to the already amazing atmosphere.

When you first pull up to the front door of the Tim Faulkner Gallery, you might be surprised.
«This place is supposed to be huge?» you ask yourself. «I don’t get it.»
But trust me – go in. Once you walk into the front door you’ll first find McQuixote Coffee. Do yourself a favor; stop and get a Brownie Batter Latte.
And then proceed back through the artists studios’ and then the gallery and then large event space.
Much like Mary Poppins’ carpet bag, the TARDIS or Snoopy’s doghouse, the Tim Faulkner Gallery is much larger on the inside. And it is destined to become a premier event and arts space in Louisville.
Some of my favorite things about it:
* I’ve been to the gallery several times, and each time I notice something new about its pieces of art. For example, upon closer inspection, the chains on a table in the corner of the gallery are made to look like a skeleton holding up the table top.
* The Tim Faulkner Gallery embraces graffiti art. Be sure to go into the large event space if it’s open and check out these artistic works.
* There are other large sculptures around the property, like a large white unicorn made out of found bits of metal — that I hear you can actual climb up on – outside.
* There’s an extra gated parking area off of Lytle Street.
* The gallery also puts the large event area, with its stage, to good use with several events. Keep an eye on their website.
* The Tim Faulkner Gallery is one of the first businesses to move and open in the Portland area of Louisville as part of the Portland Renaissance.
Tim and Margaret, the gallery’s owner and manager, have made something artistic out of this former manufacturing facility, and I can’t wait to see how its profile grows in the future.

The Art in Action event was spectacular! My girlfriend, myself and several of our friends attended the event on the 22^nd. First off the cause «colon cancer» was a great one. The atmosphere with the music, the photo booth, the different booths talking about organizations around the city was great. The adult bevrages range from Cherrywine, fireball, BBC brewery to a slew of bourbons (Bulliet, Larceny, Elijah Craig, Evan Williams and Buffalo Trace). Sorry if I left anyone out… Oh and the food was great served in appetizer form, Bbq, Chinese, southern style. There were too many sorry didn’t name all. Desserts range from chess pie, to smoked bourbon ice cream. The voulenteers was great the Unilocal team was awesome. To top it all off the circus at the end was very entertaining.. Last but, certainly not least a big thanks to Tim Faulkner !! The gallery is awesome…
