Description

Specialties

We are a used bookstore and specialty coffee and tea retail business in the Portland neighborhood of Louisville, KY. We offer an eclectic collection of affordably priced used books paired with a variety of food options, house made chais, ice creams, flavored syrups, and local fare.

We host an open mic on Thursday evenings and offer a great place to have a book club or writing group. Need coffee for your next business meeting we’ve got you covered.

Guest baristas and regional authors will make an appearance from time to time. We’ll also have public coffee tasting sessions for those that want to get a little more in tune with their cup.

Our shop is nestled inside the Tim Faulkner Gallery which hosts a bevy of exciting events from rock shows to art exhibits, community fundraisers to plays. The building is a massive repurposed factory with art studios, several patios, a bar, a 1500 capacity performance venue, art gallery, a circus troupe, and yours truly, McQuixote Books & Coffee!

History

Established in 2013.

What started as an online bookstore based out of California has progressed into a brick & mortar book & coffee shop in the Portland neighborhood of Louisville, KY.

Meet the Business Owner

Trevor D.

Business Owner

There are three owners here, Mickey, Jeff, and Trevor. We have varying tastes but all share a passion for great books and outstanding coffee. We love to talk about what we’ve been reading and can offer suggestions for a new-to-you book to take home.

Our coffee is roasted locally by Argo Sons Coffee and we frequently feature our house blend, Southern Exposition. Want to try something fancy? We can make recommendations based on what you like.
