I had recently moved to LA and needed a new endocrinologist for my thyroid. I have hypothyroid, and it’s pretty mild so I just needed checkups every 6 months… nothing too difficult.
I did some extensive research and though Dr. Vash would be good because he had a lot of experience and good reviews on some other doctor review sites. I went in for an initial consultation and I found it weird that he didn’t want any of my previous files from my old doctor. We talked for about 45 minutes then he took a blood test.
Here’s where i should have known to run in the other direction. My deductible was $ 600 so he told me he would charge me $ 450, but charge the insurance company $ 600…so any services i receive after that would be free.
However, during my second visit, I still got a charge which makes NO sense.
Another thing is, he kept increasing my dosage of synthroid on NO basis. Each time I went, he wanted to increase it more just because he thought my throat looked big but didn’t refer to any of my hormone levels. In addition, he was testing me for bullshit things on my blood work. I went back to my primary doctor to show her my bloodwork and she said that nothing that he tested for would help me control my thyroid.
LASTLY, he lost my file. So very unprofessional.
Basically, this guy wasted my time and took my money. Thanks.

For those people who, like me, are overweight and have battled for years to lose weight, Dr. Vash is the best doctor anyone could ask for.
I’ve been a heavy guy nearly all of my adult life, heck most of my childhood as well. I have tried probably every diet program there is, multiple times. I’ve lost weight, sometimes a lot, usually a little, on these other programs, but I have always gained the pounds back and even more.
I was looking into surgery, but my family physician recommend that I work with Dr. Vash for awhile before taking the extreme step of surgery.
Something that I find different with Dr. Vash over every other program is that you are not forced into a ‘plan’ Dr. Vash has no preconceived plan, every option is open for discussion. The ulimate goal is to find a way for me to lose weight, keep losing weight and not gain it back.
It all comes by talking one-​on-​one with an educated, experienced doctor. By meeting every week, Dr. Vash and I have been able to tailor, adjust and tweak a plan that I can follow.
I’m not perfect, I fail myself often. There have been a few weeks where I was so bad that I didn’t want to face the doctor. However, the good thing is that Dr. Vash possesses the right mix of discipline and encouragement to help you get back on track. I’m down 75 pounds and well on my way to lose the 250 pounds I need to get my health back.
