Carlos burrito!!! Friendly, family run. Great prices. Hidden gem next to LA Live.

It’s a great place to eat if you’re on a tight budget and need some quick, tasty Mexican food. They don’t run any A/C in there, so be prepared to sweat while you eat, but it’s a small price to pay. Recommended: Carne Asada burrito w/rice, beans, cheese(no cilantro/onions) Throw in some Jalapeños from the salsa bar and drench in Tapatio. You’ll have a good day with that burrito right there.

If you don’t mind being in a high school lunch room… the loud foul mouth hood rat clientele makes for an unpleasant experience

Please never go away. Love this place. It’s a hidden gym inside a car wash. I’ve been coming for years because they are delicious, super accommodating, friendly and the best value around here. Breakfast all day is always a plus. Eddie is Fernando’s son who is always there with a smile on his face b

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants around. It’s extremely authentic, cheap, they use fresh ingredients, and the staff is super nice. They have a free salsa bar with some excellent salsa(three types including green salsa Verde which is my favorite), jalapeños, limes, and radishes. Burritos, enchiladas, tortas all fantastic. Tried their gordita today and that is great too.

Fernado’s Taco Inn is legit. Located right by the Staples Center you would think that it’s all corporate fare, but there lies a little gem. Don’t mess around with anything else, go straight for the tacos. The carnitas is super flavorful and piled high. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are generous. Do yourself a favor hit this place up!

I will for always dream of this place and their tacos! Taco stuffers you won’t find anywhere else like the adobado… drooling already… back to the review. The horchata and pineapple agua frescas are homemade! Trimmings are fresh and the owner took the time to talk about the business and of course to say hi. Wait, I almost forgot to say that the tortillas are big and yellowish which are the best ones. Did I mention prices we’re great? Authentic tacos in LA cannot be found anywhere else!

OMG how can you not LOVE. L-O-V-E this place? Bleh, they closed the free(during the afternoon) parking for this place to make way for a $ 5/day parking or I charge you whatever I want during an event. UGH! Street parking now :(It’s a little inconvenient, but if you really want Fernando’s… you’re gonna get Fernando’s. They’re only open for Breakfast, Lunch, and possibly an early dinner — regardless of any event. Make sure you try the Carlos Special, you won’t regret it! It’s good stuff. I just want to make it to a breakfast at least once. Hold on as I wipe off my drool.

Carne Asada tacos were on point. Coming back when I get a chance. I didn’t get a chance see the bathroom but I did drink from the soft drink fountain. Got the typical lemonade and sprite combo.

When in need of something good, you come in here and do like the locals do. Stand in line and wait your turn. Everyone still turns their heads when you say, «where are you going to for lunch?». Ears perk up like puppies, «Car Wash Tacos!». Hrrrrrrrrr… Cards of all sorts are welcome and without any fee to you as long as it’s more than $ 5.($ 5 make you holla…) Especially when you try to copy this«loco». I always order the«Carlos Burrito» with carne asada or al pastor. I probably ordered it once with lengua but have always gone back to carne asada. The little salsa bar made with fresh ingredients, the red salsa I can already taste as I write this review. A nice smokey flavor with a kick to it. I always pile on the radishes which are thick cut. Washing one of these burritos down with a pina or horchata certainly hits the spot. It just prepares you for the food coma that never fails to hit me like a ton of bricks. Like now, my eyes are getting heavy… hold on, be right back… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Good portions. Good salsa. Really hidden and hard to find. It’s attached to the car wash across the street from LA Live. I had a breakfast burrito with bacon. It comes with 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes and beans. The bacon was chopped up really fine and well mixed in with the other ingredients.

Good place to grab quick tacos. I’m just not as big as a fan of their cut on carne, yet it works for the burritos. Closes early so if you’re looking to come before or after a game make sure you go early!

Located right by L.A. Live & Staples Center, Fernando’s is possibly the cheapest and most authentic Mexican food you’ll find in the hood. The prices and food is LEGIT. I ordered the lunch/dinner combo«Chile Relleno & Cheese Enchilada» and it was $ 4.99 +tax. Your’e seriously not going to find a better deal for ALLL that food at such a low price. And if you do, holler. It came with one GIANT chili relleno + one cheese enchilada + side of rice + side of beans + side of chips + a self service salsa bar at your disposal(limes, radish, jalapeños, hot sauces). Typically I’ll spend $ 10-$ 15 on lunch in DTLA, so I could have easily bought 2.5 lunches at Fernando’s. The food is flavorful, greasy(exactly how i like my Mexican food), solid portions, and sooo cheap. For the price, I would eat here all the time. But for the sake of my figure, I wont. One star knock off because the place is a little run-down and their menu doesn’t have that much selection. Also, I find it a little awkward that the salsa bar is right in front by the register. Everyone crowds there to wait for their food, order, AND stock up on salsa. It just gets so crowded in the front of the restaurant because there are multiple lines forming. Like… CAN I GETMY10thHELPINGOFHOTSAUCEWITHOUT8PEOPLEBREATHINGDOWNMYNECK??? damn… Note: $ 5 minimum for credit card.

Not a bad place to grab a bite to eat while you get your car washed. The tacos are big and flavorful. I’ve only had the carne asada — which is pretty bomb! The beans and rice tasted authentic too. Staff is super friendly. They have daily specials(Mon-Fri). The food comes with chips and salsa. They have green, red chipotle, and salsa sauce available. Also, they have limes and radish(my fave). :] The place is nice and clean and everything is decently priced too.

Ok, first and foremost let me just say, I cannot believe anyone has given the great and powerful Fernando’s Taco Inn anything less that five glorious stars. Let’s just go down the list. 1. The food is IN. CRE. ÍB. LE. 2. The staff is IN. CRE. ÍB. LE. 3. The location is IN. CRE. ÍB. LE. I mean honestly what’s going on people, this place is perfect. Their burritos are as if they were sent down from the heavens by zeus himself(because, even though he spent only $ 5, he was too full because the burritos are so big and so damn good). Fernando’s is perfect top to bottom. Oh yeah, and the tiling is amazing. Go there or your life is a lie. Thanks. Sammy B signing off.

This is hidden across the street from LA Live. We were visiting here for the MSU Spartan pep really. Not a place to eat or drink with less than an hour+ wait. We spied this hidden gem across the street. I’m a big fan of the strawberry soda on tap. We ordered Carne Asada Burrito, soft tacos, and hard tacos. All were delicious. Green sauce is spicy hot so be careful when you top your items. Packs a bite. Location and price are definite perks if you want something quick, and cheap that tastes delicious!

— Inexpensive Food — Lots to choose from off the menu — Can get your car washed while you’re here — Close to FIDM, Nokia Live, Staples Center(DTLA) — Can get busy during lunch time hours — Quick service — Help yourself to salsa, radishes, limes, etc. — Takes card & cash — Doesn’t stay open at night?(haven’t seen it ever open at night) What I have ordered: — Carne Asada Burrito — comes with chips I have yet to be disappointed with the food. Good spot in my opinion for lunch.
