Deciding on two stars is difficult for this one. Here’s why: I went just a couple weeks back. The food takes a little while to prepare but you have to be understanding; there are just two women in there and there’s a steady stream of demand. I ordered one asada taco and a chicken burrito. And both were truly delicious. Especially the burrito. BUT…in BOTH items, there was bone I nearly broke my teeth on. You see, now, why I’m tortured about the number of stars? Their pico de gallo actually had some kick to it. Thank goodness. You know how, often, one craves something spicy and can’t find it no matter what??? Theirs was actually satisfying. So satisfying you didn’t need hot sauce. And the chicken and beef were moist and tender. They honestly were delicious. But I don’t think eating a meal out should result in having to pay thousands in dentistry bills. I didn’t thankfully; I’m just sayin’… Try at your own risk. The food is yummy but you might break something and curse yourself afterward.

This truck has a picture of a cop chasing a taco on the side. The cop is chasing that taco because it’s illegal to taste that good in Mexico. Also, the taco probably had a bunch of coke balled up in condoms and shoved up his ass. He seems like a pretty sketchy taco. I came here last week and some suburb chick in high heels kicked my Jarritos over. Why don’t white people stay at Sizzler where they belong?

ordered 2 carnitas tacos, 1 carnitas quesadilla and a torta. carnitas were dry! Perhaps they were fresh, but they felt/tasted 3 days old. The torta was decent, but they definitely skimp on the avocado. Just didn’t live up to the hype

My first Taco Truck experience in LA. I was so happy to see it sitting there when I came home from a fun night. The tacos were affordable and delicious. Buying food from a truck always feels more fun than going to a restaurant. I will certainly head back up the block again.

Every time I have JOHN C. over he can’t stop bitching about where to get TACOS. Just cause I live in the hood doesn’t mean I can go to the corner of my block and just get him tacos… or can I? Hell yeah I can. 3rd Street is filled with Lunch trucks A.k.a.(ROACHMOBILE, CATERINGTRUCKS, ORFOODONWHEELS) from Vermont all the way to Western. Hey, I am not a big soccer fan, but they have a satellite feed where you can see Manchester United or Las CHIVAS. Now there is one tricky part to this Truck. During the day the Lunch truck is on the opposite side of the 3rd Street. But after 7 p.m. they park back to their usual spot. Their is only one drawback to this establishment… yes establishment and not ROACH coach. THEYCLOSEATMIDNIGHT. I know, It sucks that after drinking all night, the lunch truck is not there to feed my hunger. Those savory Tacos, Burrito, Torta, or hell a Quesadilla.

Taco trucks in K-town??? Go figure. Next thing you know, they will open up a dim sum joint and a Korean BBQAYCE in Compton. Drinking was on the menu Friday night. I saw the thread about the Unilocaler who took some concoction to ward of the hangover, and that compelled me to script this review of El Taco Movil. Said hangovers are something I absolutely abhor(and who the fuck doesn’t???) and to prevent the 5 hours of bloody hell from wreaking havoc on my beloved body on this fortnight, I searched Unilocal for taco trucks near the Blue Goose Lounge. Eating greasy food BEFORE a night of drinking is my MO. Like Kike’s in downtown LA, El Taco Movil has seating but the location kinda sucks because of the constant foot traffic… a star deducted for that reason. In addition to the prototypical $ 1.25 taco, they have combos(and pictures of these combos) that include huarache, quesadillas, and burritos. My appetite said al pastor and pollo so I ordered 3 of each. The pastor was decent but not mouthwatering, but the pollo was pretty good. They take the pleasure of adding different types of peppers to the pollo and that woke up the flavor… INSERTCARLOS K IS A DUMBASSSOMETIMESMOMENT: Because I wasn’t paying attention to the peppers on the pollo, I added some salsa. A lot of salsa. For some unknown reason, this actually aided me during my drinking. Life is weird sometimes. Would I come back if I were drinking in the area… probably.

just wanted to add because I have to take back the lengua wasn’t my favorite part we wanted to go to a taco truck we liked the most, so we went to El Taco Movil. I recall that last time lengua wasn’t really that good, but oh, this time, lengua was awesome. Actually, Cabeza was awesome as always, suadero was awesome, and lengua was divine. I guess the flavor varies from time to time. This time they chopped the lengua more, and the end result was… oh man … heavenly. We tried other trucks, but others just did not cut it. We went to one of the trucks I can’t really remember, but when we ordered cabeza, we got chunks of meat that was falling through the cracked soft tortilla. They grilled the tortilla way too much so the soft tortilla was breaking apart while we were eating. So I guess we know who’s the pro. So now we know, El Taco Movil is the way to go!

To celebrate Taco Truck Night I checked out El Taco Movil. They are usually parked at the intersection of 3rd and Normandie. Their tacos were tasty. i got the carne asada and chorizo tacos. They didn’t have carnitas unfortunately. The carne asada was decent, average mostly. Adding some green and red hot sauce really kicked it up a notch. But the chorizo, was oh so good. Sort of sweet and a little spicy. I wish I had another one. I cracked open a bottle of ’03 Sutter Ridge Pinotage. The ripe fruit flavors with the underlying smoky character where perfect with the tacos. If you don’t know what Taco Truck Night is check out Carne Asada is Not a Crime. It’s a grass roots movement to fight recent legislation banning taco trucks for sitting in any one location for more than an hour.( )
