I heard a lot of about El Flamin’ and was really excited to try it! I was surprised that there was no one at the truck, probably because it was 10PM on Sunday. I greatly appreciated that there was a lot of space and they had chairs and tables laid out. It was cold to eat outside so my friends and I went across the street to jack in the box and ordered food there as well and ate our tacos inside. The person taking the order was really nice and he gave us 2 tickets. one to pick up the mulita and carne asada fries from the truck and another one to give to the person that was cutting the al pastor from(like the spinning wheel at Leo’s). As mentioned above, I ordered the al pastor multia, 2 al pastor tacos and one carne asada fries which came out to $ 13.50. The al pastor taco is $ 1.50 which is on the expensive side compared to Leo’s and El Chato. The mulita was good and enjoyed that it had avocados on top. However, I think that Taco Xpress in Fullerton is much better. The al pastor tacos came with a slice of pineapple and I liked that they only gave one tortilla rather than 2 and gave a good portion of meat unlike Leo’s. The al pastor was well prepared! The carne asada fries were probably my least favorite. the meat was great, but the fries were not the best fries to use for carne asada fries. they used thick cut fries such as the ones that you see The Habit use. The meat was good and enjoyed that they put avocado in it as well, but it lacked in cheese and flavor. Overall, I would go here again if I was passing by, but I would not go out of my way to go here.

100% my favorite taco truck in LA. I love that there is easy access to parking. I think that is enough to sell me on anything and think it is amazing. It’s not, but pretend with me for this review. Let’s great real. It is a taco truck. There isn’t really a bad taco truck, unless one gives you food poisoning. That would be a bad taco truck. They have a new extended menu that offers carne asada fries. I live for fries. Smother them in cheese and salsa and meat and ugghhhh yes please. However, what makes this place to die for is the al pastor taco. They are constantly shaving more of it and you can see them doing it right there and then for your precious tacos.(Note tacoS not taco). However, the kicker? They are also roasting pineapple. They will take off a little slice for your taco and it makes all the difference. My water is watering. I mean my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The salsa bar is also very good. Love the avacado sauce. They are also very quick about refilling it if anything runs out. It is a little on the pricier side for a taco truck, but I say welcome to LA.

I live in NYC and visited LA craving good Mexican food. AMAZING tacos and super cheap. Perfect late night snack. Get the al pastor and don’t look back

I’m not a fan of eating Mexican food in restaurants, because you lose the late night taco truck vibe. The closer I can get to the experience of warming my hands to a steaming burrito after stumbling across a random taqueria, the better the food tastes. El Flamin’ is somewhere on the spectrum between street side food and restaurant, replete with a dining area, waiting chairs, parking lot and even trinket vendors sharing the same lot. They pretty much know they’re the shit and are becoming a serious al pastor churning institution. I’m just waiting for them to keep upping prices and become a $$ taco truck. Definitely worth trying their al pastor at least once, because it’s a cornerstone of the LA taco truck scene, but though it’s bomb, I’m not sure it’s worth the wait or the cash.

This is probably the most expensive taco truck in the hood for the(lack of) quality. The al pastor tacos are decent but everything here is generally wayy overpriced. 6 tacos for $ 9??? Cali burrito that is 50% fries for $ 8? This place likes to stuff their entrees with rice, beans, fries or other cheap carbs. Al pastor tacos are good.

Al Pastor Tacos. As for the other things they have here, I haven’t had the chance to try them because I’m always getting the Al Pastor Tacos, but its so worth it! Affordable, delicious, and open late night, what more can you ask for from a taco truck? I wish they had more seating than that one table, so I can actually eat the food there… but I think I’m demanding too much from a taco truck. There is a small parking lot, which usually gets packed, but street parking is available and service is relatively quick, so no need to worry!

These tacos are bomb, so good we had to return for seconds the same night! The al pastor is delicious, love the slice of piña on the tacos it adds a hint of sweetness. Another nice addition is the cucumber they provide on the salsa station, the fresh cucumber contrasts the spicyness. They know what they’re doing here and how to keep long lines moving. Definitely worth the drive from the Valley when the al pastor cravings kick in.

Quintessential LA taco joint and I LOVEIT. The truck is parked in the parking lot of a car wash. Outdoor seating available. A lot of people eat on the trunk of their car. Best al pastor taco around. They shave the pastor and pineapple right in front of you. I usually add the avocado sauce, white onions, cilantro, and some lime juice. This place is a MUSTTRY for those who want a legit LA street taco experience.

Oh Snap! Cheap, fast tacos for those who are drunk and looking to grub. I ended up here after a fun night of drinking around 2AM. This food truck was crowded and surrounded by happy, hungry people. The carne asada tacos were the most popular items of course! For a taco truck, the have a decent salsa bar set up. We didn’t wait too long for our food, and got back in time to enjoy these delicious mini masterpieces. No regrets!

Al pastor for the win. One of the better taco trucks I’ve discovered in LA. A worthwhile stop if you’re in Koreatown and have the hankering for tasty Mexican food. Thanks El Flamin’ for raising the al pastor bar in LA.

I was kind of excited to come here-open until 3 am, great reviews etc etc. Found it very disappointing though. I got three El Pastor tacos and the Carne Asada fries. The fresh tortillas were good-really nice. And the salsa bar was outstanding. Really, really good salsas, which is the only reason I put three stars. It’s not that the tacos didn’t have flavor-they were juicy and the pineapple is wonderful. But there is no disguising poor quality meat no matter how delicious the salsa you add. I couldn’t finish for that reason. It tasted of very low quality which given the prices should have been unsurprising. The fries must have been reviewed by people at the end of a long night of binge drinking or something. Great for soaking up booze perhaps, or force-feeding an anorexic in need of weight gain, but very unpleasant to me. A giant glob of food with everything but the kitchen sink put on it, which might have been okay if the fries themselves were good. Overall, it’s fine if you like highly flavorful shoe leather.

Definitely one of the better burritos I’ve had in the LA area. Their addition of pineapple is interesting, but I just got the Pastor Burrito w/o pineapple and did not regret my decision. I was excited to try their Carne Asada Fries after seeing pictures, but I was disappointed. I don’t think I’ll get that again, but next time I’ll definitely try their Quesadillas. They have a great Salsa Bar with plenty of condiments. If you just can’t wait to eat your food, there are some chairs and tables, where you can get your grub on ASAP. Service is quick and straightforward. If you haven’t tried El Flamin’ Taco yet, I’d definitely recommend it.

This place is getting seriously disgusting. Hubs and I came on a whim for a cheap quick dinner and the quality of the food is inedible. There’s nothing much more to say, it’s just the way it is now. We both got the al pastor burrito, and the«al pastor meat» is full of hardened fat, and it just drips red oil, there is no meat. It’s a fucking disgrace to Mexican food, avoid!!!

Definitely starts to run out of a lot of stuff at night and gets kind of messy and janky outside. Not their fault, of course. Pros: Open late, cheap(but not $ 1, if you’re trying to score the normal street taco price), salsa bar has a lot of variety(especially liked that they had an onion, tomato, cilantro mix instead of just onion/cilantro); ample parking Cons: The meat(beef) was ehhh. It was sort of like I’m starving, so this tastes fine, but if I was sober and wanting really good tacos I don’t think I would be happy; running out of a lot of different options at night It’s open later than most taco trucks and it’s one of the closer ones to Ktown. Would come back if in the area and it’s the only taco truck open.

This is clearly your late night taco truck. The carne asada here is alright. The beef is not as juicy as I would have liked. They have a bunch of condiments outside. To me the taco didn’t really stand out

3 ½ stars I was a bit hungry, and I decided tacos seemed to be the way to go. I was in the mood for Al Pastor so my friend mentioned El Flamin’ Taco. The pictures looked great they seem to be known for their al pastor so seemed like the perfect stop. They had a small lot where you can park, or you can do street. The line was not too bad when we went but I can see it getting quite busy during peak hours or after clubs. Menu is pretty simple, selections of meats, burrito, quesedilla and torta. It’s $ 1.50 for a taco, great price. _Al Pastor taco($ 1.50). I was pretty excited about trying this, only to find that is was just okay. The tortilla was fine and warm but my complaint was they barely put any meat! There was only about 3 small thin slices and 1 piece of a tiny pineapple. There should be at least 2 pineapple so every bite will have a piece of pineapple. No one wants to eat the ends and have nothing and in the middle have just the pineapple. Haha that is my opinion, I always want the perfect bite :) Although the meat seemed like it was juicy I could not really catch it. It seems they are inconsistent, some pictures has tons of al pastor on the taco where some has very little. Maybe I’ll go back and hope that they add more meat next time. _Carne Asada($ 1.35) This was pretty good. They gave a lot of meat on this one as it should be. The asada was juicy and well seasoned. When you put all the condiments on top it’s the perfect taco. I preferred this way over the al pastor. They have a small bar on the side with all the condiments for the tacos. They have cilantro, onions, pico de gallo, sliced radish, lime slices, sliced cucumbers, pickled onions and 3 sauces. I tried the green sauce that looked a bit like guac. It was real good and not spicy. I loved the all the condiments, you end up putting so much that the taco becomes real messy but still mucho bueno!

The hype is real, son. Al pastor is the name of the game here. We didn’t try other things because it’s always just the two of us and can only try so much without exploding. Parking on the street, which we found easily. I think it’s because we were there early around 10pm. There was a line but it wasn’t crazy long — about a 10 minute wait. Cash only/

Mmmm their lengua taco is one of the best. Tacos are $ 1.50 instead of your typical $ 1 but I guess it’s okay. The lengua is so good so I can accept that. I also appreciate their generous topping bar. They have the same avocado green sauce as Leo’s. Yay! El Flamin’ also does the pineapple with their al pastor but… I prefer Leo’s al pastor. There’s a good sized parking lot with street parking on Vermont so shouldn’t be too difficult to get a spot.

Ok ok ok ok… so my first review should be redacted… probably an off day because… the FAMOUSTOWEROFPASTOR is there in all of it’s flavorful glory. Can’t say enough about this place. This is for sure a Koreatown staple. If you don’t know… just go there anytime after 7pm… and get yourself some pastor tacos. I say some, because 1 is NOT enough. CHURCH!!! Damn it… now I’ve got a hankering for some right meowwwww!

This is my favorite taco truck right now. While the quality is generally on point, I’m overlooking some major weaknesses(asada) to leave 5 stars. FOOD Al Pastor — Their best thing. If you don’t eat pork, I’d say this place is probably a 4 star… possibly a 3 star for you Asada — I love Asada and unfortunately El Flamin’ Taco has average quality Asada. I’ve gotten it a couple times only to be disappointed. Super Fries — This dish is typically served with Asada but since their Al Pastor is so much better, I get Al Pastor fries instead. Fresh fries, delicious Al Pastor. Win win. Fried Quesadillas? — They don’t always have the extra quesadilla frying stand outside but when they do it’s pretty fun to watch. I’ve never actually ordered these but I’ve seen them make a lot of these for other people. Considering how many of these are ordered, they are almost certain to be legit. SERVICE Most of the time they are efficient but if you get stuck behind someone that has a huge order you can be in for a long wait. TIP: the best way around this is to just order Al Pastor tacos. These are handled separately from all other orders. If you look to the left of the truck, you will see the Al Pastor man standing next to the Al Pastor cart. After you pay, you take your order directly to him and he makes your tacos! PARKING There are spots on the side where the car wash is, spots at jack in the box, and street parking(hardly ever)
