I go to school down about 4 blocks down from this place and I walk there every morning before class. They opened a new coffee shop on the same street that would cut my morning walk in half. But thus place is worth the extra 2 blocks. Good food good coffee nice people.

Wow so yummy. I got egg whites, mixed veggies, a chicken breast and black coffee. The coffee was strong but not bitter; the veggies had zucchini, olives(added an amazing element… never thought of adding olives), diced peppers; egg whites were plentiful and the chicken was well seasoned. I also tried the plantains and black beans that come on an antigua breakfast plate. Amazing and reminded me of Costa Rica

Cute lil spot. Tried their raspberry mocha and steak and egg breakfast. Delicious but a bit on the pricy side.

Best breakfast ever. Especially when you’re REALLY hungry. I did not try any plate with meat, but the chilaquiles are the best I’ve had so far.

La Antigua is a really nice place to eat, we like the Chicken Fajitas. Every now and then the Breakfast Chapin. The best!

I love Antigua bread the food is good, but sadly after 4 years this happens. I ordered the veggie burrito which is delicious but as I midway ate into my burrito I felt something hard and it felt uncomfortable. I thought it was a hard piece of seasoning idk but I did not expect a thick tooth pick in the middle of my burrito. It’s longer than what’s shown but I had to post about it. Be cautious when eating a burrito ladies and gentleman.

Came here the other day to get some reading done and grab some dinner. The worker in the front was very nice and friendly. I started with a blueberry muffin and iced tea. Then a while later, ordered the steak torta when some friends arrived. Also tried a bite of the chicken pesto sandwich. The food was actually really good and prices were pretty good as well. About $ 7 for the sandwiches. They come with fries that are kind of like Mcdonalds fries but soggy. Overall, I like this place and definitely want to return to try the breakfast items.

This place is actually sneaky good tucked away on the border of South Pasadena and El Sereno. For lunch the turkey club and the shoestring fries are amazing. The service is very friendly and quick. For a quick bite to eat in a clean and safe establishment this a great place. Kid friendly for sure!!!

The sweet bread and coffee are very authentic. The food is average and a bit pricy Staff could be a little more friendly

I was looking for a place to kill an hour or two before a jazz jam I was attending. Glad I stumbled upon Antigua Bread. There was comfortable seating, and a pleasant atmosphere in the café. There was plenty of lighting to draw and fold origami(could easily study or do work here too). Didn’t try for wifi. The coffee was good and strong but I had to have them nuke it because it wasn’t hot enough. Same could have been said for the chicken tamale I ordered… it came out lukewarm. I didn’t bother asking them to heat it up more. The tamale was great, although I’ve never had one so mushy. The sauce in the tamale and the fresh salsa they make to put on top had great flavor. Also want to give a shout out to the guy behind the counter last night. He went out of his way to be friendly to everyone who stepped into the place. I’d definitely stop in again.

I’ve Only been here for breakfast a couple of times. first time here i had their ultimate antigua breakfast(steak, 2 eggs, black beans, crema, queso fresco, salsa fresca, and tortillas) and i’m hooked! And the antigua omelet(bacon, sausage, jack & cheddar cheese, tomatoes, peppers and onions) was also delish! There’s sometimes a wait and it gets busy but what restaurant doesn’t at times? Worth the wait! Great service!

Found this place based on Unilocal reviews. I’m giving them 5 stars to offset the low ratings. Normally I’d give 4 for this place. Antigua Breakfast for the GF and chilaquiles for me. A huge serving for the price. Great atmosphere but I have to admit, there were tables of 1 reading the newspaper and surfing the net long after they finished eating. These places should have a policy of «please give up your table if you are finished eating and others are waiting.» The GF and I will be going back to try other dishes as everyone around us was eating something that looked very delectable. And the prices are great, too.

This place is a gem, great service and great food at a reasonable price. Very friendly servers best of it is that they have patio that I can bring my furry friend with me. I have been here more then couple of times with or without my furry friend. It is a good hangouts and have a sober brunch, lunch or even for the early birds breakfast. I have enjoyed all my visits and I come here from Downtown LA. And for you who is not for the food it a great place to hang and have coffee.

I’m feeling surprised about some of the low ratings that Antigua has gotten recently. Not surprising though is the fact that the people complaining are typically ordering American breakfast items(which I haven’t ordered since I know better). Antigua is named after a city in Guatemala, which means I’m ordering their Guatemalan food almost All of the time. I’ve always been happy with my food especially the breakfast. Being Central American myself, I have to say the flavors are as good as they get and you can never go wrong with some platanos, fijoles negros and crema! Yum! Please come try one of their typical Guatemalan dishes and your stomach will leave happy.

What makes this place special, is their very affordable prices. If you’re in the mood for affordable Central American cuisine and don’t want todo end too much money, then this is the place for you to go. I’m a big fan of the Chapin sandwich, both for price and taste.

This place has been in Highland Park for a little over a year. Sadly, I wish I could have given it better review as the close proximity to my home. I would have really liked to have this as my regular breakfast outing but unfortunately Denny’s makes this place look bad. Come here mostly for the décor and ambiance of having a meal seated in a trendy setting. I like the ambiance of the indoor lights, brick, and dark mahogany chairs and tables. The pastries looked tasty but I will never know because it just is not worth coming back. First, let me warn you the line here for breakfast is just insane, especially for the quality of the food. I think this is the kind of place people go to look hipster cool even though the food is bad. We ordered and sat and waited about 20 – 30 minutes for a to-go order. I purchased an order of French toast, a veggie omelet, eggs and a side of beans and rice. Second, we get home and all our food was cold. I am not sure if the cook had it ready and they just were so busy they forgot to bag it. Granted this place is not even one mile away from where I live and we drove. Third, my omelet had veggies but no cheese. I had never encountered an omelet with no cheese! The food was scant and presentation was completely thrown out the window. Maybe we should have eaten in, but I do not think that would change the quality of the food. Fourth, last but definitely not least, there was a hair in the French toast order. I called the manager Mike and let him know the issue. He agreed to replace the order. But after seeing how the rest of the food was prepared and tasted I decided to just cut my losses and never go back to Antigua Bread.

There are few things I love more in the world than tortilla chips smothered in sauce and topped with eggs. MMM chilaquiles PARKING: Street or back lot SERVICE: It’s fast casual style– order, find a table, eat. The guy at the counter was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He even opened up another register when the line was a bit long. FOOD: Chilaquiles– These are hands down one of the best I’ve had. It’s like a no nonsense type of chilaquiles — nothing fancy, but everything was done SO right. Great sauce and a huge portion with eggs cooked perfectly. I’ll definitely be back for my next chilaquiles fix!

I pop in when I’m early to a class at Pop Physique, and I appreciate the convenience of being able to nibble on a croissant(not flaky, so you won’t make a mess, but super moist) and sip on an iced coffee while visiting the HP ‘hood. I also can’t scoff at the prices. I pay less than $ 5 for a snack and a beverage or less than $ 8 for a full breakfast plate. The staff is pleasant, there’s plenty of seating, and their patio is dog friendly!
