I did’t like this spot. I’ll be sure not to ever come back here ever again. The employees are not helpful and over charge for things that ought not to be. Customer service is no good. Highland Park continues to get more ghetto each year. Highland park is dangerous without a doubt. Aviod this neighborhood for sure. Noting upscale and simply ugly.

I got my prom makeup and hair done here by Shahla & loved it! My makeup lasted all night. My hair is extremely thick and was put up like a bun. It didn’t last as long as my makeup but that was expected with all the dancing. I was really happy with how everything came out!

Owner is unprofessional. I want to give business to Highland Park small business owners however, she’s unprofessional and lacks decent customer service. There are too many hair salons in highland park to want to go back to this one.

Love this place is affordable fast and good customer service. she did my hair, my eyelashes very good job.

Just received a great hair cut here. The cosmetologist was great. She was very professional, we also had some great conversation while she cut my hair. I know I will be coming back here too cut my hair and I highly recommend others to come here.

The lady who works there is awesome. I came in last minuet when it’s only by appointment and she still took me in. I asked her if she can do mermaid colors, something simple but mermaid like. She wowed me, I felt so beautiful, plus she’s really funny and nice, I recommend anyone looking for a good MUA, she’s awesome!

This place is great!!! I had to get my hair and makeup done at 6:30 am! For my graduating class picture. And they were able to make it happen. The girl who did my makeup did a great job and I was really happy with the job. I also loved my hair the only downside is that by 4pm it was falling apart :(but other than that I loved the place because they did me a huge favor by doing it very early in the am because not many places do that. I really recommend this place :)

The owner and the waxer are kind, professional and prompt… but every time I get my brows waxed, it always breaks out terribly after. And these breakouts are huge, deep and ugly.
Price is cheap, relatively speaking. They also do makeup and facials, but I think I’ll pass.

Love it. I look so beautiful and Shala made me feel very special. My make up last me all night long I dance, and sweat and still was on. My make up normally won’t last but I don’t know what she did magic or something. I totally recommend her.

Shala was amazing! She did my hair and make up for my birthday and it looked flawless. The make up stayed on all night with only lip gloss touch up. I would highly recommend the studio.

Shala did my hair and makeup for my wedding this past Sunday!!! and did an AMAZING job!!! I never felt so beautiful in my life. She made me look naturally beautiful and worked her magic on my hair and makeup! I got so many great compliments and even my photographer was amazed!!! Thank you Shala you are amazing! I wish I could get married again to look so beautiful!!!

I needed make-​up for a last minute photo shoot. Shala was professional, friendly, went out of her way to make sure I liked the look, and did my make-​up right there on the spot. My lashes looked especially nice. I’m glad she’s in the neighborhood and would recommend her if you don’t already have a favorite make-​up artist.

I don’t even want to give this place 1 star. I walked in on a weekday to get waxed & this was the worst wax i’ve ever had. This place uses cheap wax & waxing strips because the girl had to keep re-​applying the wax & re-​waxing the same area. It was extremely uncomfortable & the girl didn’t even clean right because when I got home I had a ton of wax residue on me. Awful place to say the least!

I decided on a whim to get my hair and makeup done for an event, and S Studio was not only close to my house, but affordable too. With these rates, I’m more inclined to going to this place and getting my hair/​makeup done on a Saturday night. Shala did my hair and gave me this amazing bouffant/​beehive that went well with my vintage dress. Zoe gave me some smokey eyes and lashes to match, and I looked in the mirror and couldn’t help but say, ‘I look DAMN HOT.’ I’m all for supporting small businesses in my hood, so I’ll definitely be back.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Zoe a couple of times. She’s great, very attentive to your opinions, and is a phenomenal makeup artist. A lot of places charge a ton to get your makeup done but this was pretty reasonable — they give the option to do just eyes or full face.
The clothes and accessories in the studio were really neat too. You’d expect a place like this to be in Silverlake or Los Feliz. Glad it’s in HP because places like this really help gentrify the area.

This place rocks! I love that I can boast to people that my facialist is right here in Highland Park. S Makeup does everything for me. Their knowledge and technique concerning skin and makeup is just what any girl needs in Northeast Los Angeles. My eyebrows have never looked so good. This place is top quality and the service is supreme. What are you waiting for? Make an appointment and get pampered today.

I wish I hadn’t waited so long to try this place out. I had driven by so many times, but for some reason, kept going to the cheap-​o place down the street to get my eyebrows waxed. Well, for almost the same price, I got much better service and fantastic-​looking brows. You can bet I’ll be a regular!
I’m also looking forward to scheduling a facial at some point. I definitely feel like I would be getting top-​quality service at an affordable price on that here as well! it’s places like this that make me just love living in HP!

I was searching on Unilocal for places around the area to get my eyebrows done because the place i used to go to a few blocks down from here wasn ’ t doing a very satisfactory job. It was one of those nail salons that weren ’ t very sanitary and didn ’ t make me feel very comfortable. On top of that, my eyebrows never came out quite how i ’ d hoped. It was one of those «you get what you pay for» places, and it was a pretty dirt cheep price .
So i stumbled across this place on my way home from work and decided to give it a try seeing as how i liked the reactions of the other users on Unilocal.It ’ s a small place with four makeup stations in the front half of the store and the cutest little boutique in the back half. It kept me busy while i patiently waited for me turn to get waxed and the lady kindly reassured me that it wouldn ’ t be too long .
So, i couldn ’ t really understand what exactly her name was but i promise i will be a regular from now on. From the moment i sat down she made me feel comfortable and started up a friendly conversation. She also explained how she used a new stick every time she dipped into the wax and that her tools were sanitized. Before even touching my eyebrows she made sure she knew exactly how i wanted them and clearly explained what would be done. They came out very clean and i haven ’ t seen my eyebrows that well done in a while. 9 bucks for such great service, can ’ t go wrong with that (:

I live about 2 blocks from here, but yesterday was my first time stopping in. I’ll admit… I was a little hesitant to try any beauty location in my neighborhood-(im not into the feathered bangs and super thin eyebrows that are custom around here).
I initially walked in to grab a card and see if they had any lashes for sale. I happened to notice the sign for eyelash extensions and decided to inquire. Turns out it was SUPER affordable.
I asked Shala (probably spelled wrong) if she had time to take me and she said yes. Turns out, you cant be wearing mascara (even if they wash it off) before you get the extensions.
HERE’S WHAT HOOKED ME– Instead of just doing it and taking my money, Shala (politely) asked me if I were able to come back the following day, WITHOUT makeup. She informed me that the adhesive would not stick if there was residue left behind and that it wouldn’t last.
I have been in sales/​customer service for my ENTIRE working life and I TRULY appreciate honest, informative representatives. Shala was exactly that.
I decided to get my eyebrows touched up since I was already there (they came out awesomely btw) and Shala and I had a nice conversation. Not that awkward, struggling to understand their accent conversation that you may get with local Asian salons OR that «Omg this girl speaks so poorly that I don’t trust her ability to learn the skills necessary for this procedure» type of conversation. It was a conversation with an educated and fun girl! MY type of convo.
I scheduled an appt for this Saturday for the lash extensions, so I will update you all on how it goes.
THIS PLACE IS DEFINITELY A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH.

I am so glad that this studio is in Highland Park! I had a facial done about a Month ago and I feel and see a huge difference! I suffer from dry skin and with the products that Shahla recommended I no longer suffer from leather skin!
I am also an addict to blush and with Zoe’s help I am going to start a collection of blush hues!
These girls are as sweet as Pie!
