G&J Moving, LLC was established by two experienced, self-confident, purposeful, courteous men. Our main goal is to provide top quality service because we know how stressful your move can be. We will make your move smooth, quick, easy and stress-free.

We provide professional moving equipment and affordable rates. Our team take pride on what we do and always ready to help you ²⁴⁄₇. No job is to big or to small for us.

We carry all required insurances by law including workman’s comp for your protection. All our crews are assembled from the employees of the company and not day labor. I used these guys to move my work office in September 2015 and again in May 2016 to move my personal belongings from a house to a townhouse. They are fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. They are fair for the packing materials used & the furniture blankets (moving pads). Both my moves were local and only consisted of going a few miles away. I highly recommend them for your moving needs.

Overall the company did a terrific job. They had my entire old apartment unloaded in under an hour (I had everything all packed up and ready to go). Where they got me was on the travel time. The mover said that they did not need to follow me to the new location. It took them 45 minutes longer to arrive than it did me. It took so long for them to arrive that I called the company to ask if they might have gotten lost. I think they must have taken the longest possible route and stopped for breaks or something. The unloading was quite smooth despite the fact that there was a dispute over the loading elevator. I did notice a few small damages to my furniture the next day, but that might be expected with any move. The movers were very nice and worked very efficiently during loading and unloading. 4 stars though due to the extra long travel time.

These guys (Sam and Sanna?) were incredible. They helped a friend of mine move to a new apartment. We even had to go to 3 different locations in Maryland and DC. They were fast and efficient. It helped that everything was boxed up and ready to go, but it was a breeze working with them. I highly recommend this crew in particular. Nice guys too.

We researched a TON of moving companies online and in the end, we had four companies come out to our townhouse to provide estimates. When the representative for this company arrived, he did not offer any kind of identification (company t-shirt, business card, etc). I let him in and he seemed unsure of what to do, so I asked whether we should sit down and talk first or whether he wanted to do a tour first. We sat down so that he could TRY to answer my questions, and «try» is really the operative word there. The representative could not answer questions that I assumed would be quite simple for any moving company, such as whether the company had any kinds of certification (through national moving associations, for example), the percentage of their moves that come in above or below their estimates, and whether or not the company has received any awards for service.
I was weary already, so when I got the quote it was an easy decision. They quoted us $ 3800 for a move that other companies were quoting at about $ 2000-$ 2500. And on top of that, they charge a 4% fee to pay by credit card. I said no thank you.

We used this company as a recommendation from a friend who used them. We definitely got different movers than our friends got. We moved our one bedroom condo furniture ONLY (bed set, couches, dining table, computer table.). We moved all boxes ourselves so this job should have been fast and easy.
We were quoted 5 hours for 3 guys, but knew we could have done that the two of us, in about 4. Well, it took 3 guys OVER the 5 hours, and they broke our computer desk in the process. NOT because the desk was cheap, but because the one mover decided to tip the entire thing on the weakest side of the desk, causing the leg to snap off entirely. One of the movers was just standing around outside, not doing anything part of the time.
What you don’t realize when booking with this company is all of the «extras» you’re going to pay for once they arrive. The rolls of tape they use (and they use PLENTY), or charging you extra to move your tv (despite that being in our original list of things we needed moved). And the clause in there that says if anything that’s «pressed wood» breaks, they aren’t liable. So, we got to pay for a new computer desk out of pocket, because the mover was not smart in what he did, not because the desk was made poorly.
Despite a very very slight discount on the cost of the desk, we still ended up paying more than the original quote.
We will NEVER use this company again. We should have gone with another friends’ recommendation for their movers as none of their things ended up broken after their move.

This moving company was fantastic. We had several different quotes some from by the hour movers and some from flat rate movers. This company came out gave us an estimate walked us through the process ensured that we were going to understand the entire move and was very informative the entire way.
On the day of the move they showed up on time prepared, had all the blankets, all the tape, came in determine what was going to go where on the truck, and began their work. They were very nice and friendly and then when we arrived at the new house they prepared the house to be moved in by placing mats and taking care of any loose items to move them out the way. The crew leader quickly assessed where things needed to go in the house and they moved us in ahead of schedule. Such a great moving experience when we move again. we’re going to look up G& J Moving

G&J handled our move from an apartment in Falls Church to a house on the other side of Virginia, back in June. Thankfully, I have no complaints. I was a little wary of them at first, because they didn’t have as many online reviews as others in the area. But at the end of the day, I called a lot of local movers and G&J gave us the best quote by far. I requested that they come by the apartment to assess and verify their quote, which they were happy to do. At the end of the move, that quote didn’t change — no hidden charges or fees.
Two younger guys handled our entire move — they moved quickly, but were still careful/courteous with our things. (Usually it’s either one or the other!) No real notable damage.
This was one of the better moving experiences we’ve had, if not the best. G&J definitely relieved me of a lot of anxiety that always comes with moving. If I ever find myself needing movers in the metro DC/northern Virginia area again, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again.

We paid $ 299 for two movers for four hours through our Angie’s list membership. We were scheduled for 10 a.m., but the guys and their truck showed up at 10:45 a.m. They gave us a call at 9:55 a.m. to say they would be late. Other than that one hiccup, the move went well. They came in and accessed the furniture we had in our apartment. Offered suggestions and a plan, then discussed possible costs we could incur including the cost of packing tape, wrapping wooden furniture, or putting plastic wrap on our mattress. There were no surprises as far as cost is concerned. They packed everything up very quickly and moved everything into our new house within the 4 hour time limit. They didn’t hit any walls or scrape our wood floors. They were very careful and respectful of our things. I put out total cost at $ 375 included the Angie’s list coupon, tip, and a pizza lunch we provided them. All in all, it was a good experience and we would definitely hire them again to move us.

I’m sorry, but first of all, Dawn is overreacting. The extra money is NOT for a «truck cost,» but a flat cost for gas that applies and is clearly communicated. (Also, if you call any other movers, they’ll include a fee like that). In looking at Dawn’s review, she gave them two stars for showing up on three days notice and getting the job done — her only gripe was price and tracking mud on a carpet? — pretty unfair given that people do read these reviews. She could have used the money she saved hiring them and gotten carpet cleaner from Target.
I have booked G&J twice, and my boyfriend has booked them once, they did an incredible job all three times, and the flat fee was clearly communicated. They showed up, on time, all three times, and did a great job — careful with everything, courteous, etc. They’re also really cheap, and have been great about scheduling — I remember last time I had to book them last minute and it was no problem.
Recommend enthusiastically! You won’t get any better.

I have used G&J moving on two separate occasions within the past month. Once was to move from an apartment into storage as my lease had ended and the other from storage into my new apartment. I choose to use G&J services the second time because the movers were friendly, professional, courtesy, and concerned about my possessions. They worked diligently and did not waste time with nonsense. All items were wrapped and padded extremely well so I felt at ease that my items wouldn’t be damaged in the transition.
I reside in Bethesda and on both occasions, the movers were on schedule and called to let me know how far away they were. I have nothing but good things to say about these guys… HAPPY MOVING!!!
