Riverview Restaurant & Lounge

One of my favorite restaurants excellent food, great service and awesome views. Perfect place to dine with friends or a date. I would recommend it to anyone.

Riverview is one of the bestest restaurant in New York! Whenever I am visiting New York, this place is a definite «Must dine «place for me. The food is super delectable and just mouthwatering from their flavorful appetizers to their tasty sweets. I absolutely love their staff! I always have the greatest customer service experience, I am greeted with a huge welcome from the host and served with such a genuine care from the servers, The atmosphere is absolutely remarkable, This place has a very enjoyable atmosphere and just the perfect vibe. I would highly recommend Riverview to anyone to who is looking to dine at an upscale restaurant with a full delicious menu and the best service.

I think if there was a zero star I would give this restaurant a zero. This place is a complete embarrassment. My family and I were having a celebration and from the beginning it was a nightmare dealing with management. The manager/​owner handled the whole process. We were advised we will be charging 30% which was a party of 50 – 60 people, which we were fine with and signed a contract in agreement, few days later we were notified that our credit card was charged 100% so we thought it must have been by accident (in hospitality especially restaurant business you don’t charge 100%before the service is done, very common sense), when we asked politely to see if it was a mistake, the owner kept acting like we were bothering him, and saying what is the big deal, so we communicated to him that it was not part of the contract also since we haven’t finalized on the food option. When he kept giving us attitude we notified him that he is breaking his contract and we would like to cancel our reservation. At this point, the man who is the owner completely loses his temper, refuses to refund our thousands of dollars and to add insult to injury he curses and hangs the phone. Obviously at this point nobody wants to do any type of celebration at this place. We had two options either to do a lawsuit which we thought would be silly since its a restaurant, so we decided to go ahead and dine there. So lets talk about the food… which was average. The salads were dry and a bit brown showing they were not fresh, the steak and fish were flavorless especially the steak, asked medium rare and was served well done. We requested a private dining and also a speaker, nothing was provided and paid extra to have these included. The private dining was a joke since the party of 10 that was next to us were wasted they were more louder than our entire group. The whole night was irritating. With thousands of restaurants in the city, there would be no way for venues to act or behave this way. The whole concept of going to a RESTAURANT is to enjoy the food and company which we weren’t able too. I think of all the restaurants I have visited, this is prob the top three worst places I have been too. I feel bad for the staff who work there, they have to deal with a bipolar owner who hasn’t learned the meaning of respect of customers so I can just imagine how he treats his staff. What a pity since its located in a beautiful LIC, but the establishment is a disgraceful !!!

I dined here for my birthday a few weeks ago and I had an incredible experience. We started off with a seafood platter. Everything from the raw oysters to the lobster were so fresh. Then, I had the tuna tartare which was amazing. Finally, I had the scallops as my main course. They were cooked to perfection and the roasted cauliflower sauce it came with was so delicious.
The service was outstanding. The whole staff made me feel very special on my birthday. I hope to make it back in the near future!

My favorite place in the area without a doubt. Tried all the places in the area, but non of them exceed my expectations like riverview. The food and the service are always up to standard. The wine selection is great. The staff is very warm and welcoming, and always make me feel at home. I love the fact that the menu varies aswell, they like changing it up, i love that in a restaurant. I highly recommend this place to anybody seeking a good warm experience.

Celebrated my friends bday there, we had an awesome time!!! I must say the view was amazing and our dinner was great. Loved the food there specially the mix appetizer was one of the best appetizers I ever tired. Staffs was very welcoming, didn’t have to wait long to be seated. Great customer service, I would definitely go back!!!

I’ve been going here for years and I can always tell when new management takes over because the caliber of food and service goes up or down. In this case it’s down. 9 times out of 10 I usually order the same thing so this time that I had the duck it was lightly seasoned. But the true reason I was so disappointed was the awful service.
Bottom line. I always tip according and this time, I didn’t leave any tip.

The owner is a scum bag low life. Horrible place wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. I had a bug in my drink and instead of apologizing and exchanging/​refunding me the continued to be unapologetic and gave me a bill.

I guess it’s my time to join hate parade. I feel like I need to stretch first…
I honestly wonder how this place continues to stay in business. I’ve had the misfortune of dining here a couple of times and while the views of Manhattan are spectacular, everything else is atrocious. The food is ridiculously overpriced and god-​awful. The chefs found a way to serve food that’s simultaneously under-​cooked and burnt. On top of that, the staff is often rude or no where to be found.
I live in the neighborhood and for such a fantastic location, few people ever eat here. I’m sure those that do are either first (and only) timers or redeeming some coupon they bought off Amazon local deals. Please save your time, energy, money, and palette and steer clear of Riverview Restaurant all together. This place is the worst.

Don’t waste your time or money. Drinks were horrible and overpriced. The service was even worse. The dessert never came. No glasses of water. bartender may have even been racist as he doesn’t seem to like Asians. The one star will be for the view.
Save your money, time, energy, and patience!

This places has a great view and I was hoping to really like it. I can’t complain about the food but the service was not on point. In came here a couple times when I was living in the area and I got the filet twice. Both times i enjoyed it. I think if the staff and the décor was updated this place could get more stars.

I live in the same building Riverview is in. It’s a great setting but the food is always average to poor. If they only had great food this place would be great. Today I ordered french toast and had to send it back because it wasn’t done. And the bread was small, more like Rhode Island toast than TX toast. Service is always good but I have yet to find a dish that is great or better than I could make myself.

Stopped by here for some grubbin’ after a night out and I’ve got to say…
The service was a little off.
Maybe they had a long day, maybe they were exhausted, but the man who served my table was very… cranky.
BUT, the lobster ravioli here is awesome.
So are the burgers.

If you have a date, especially one who likes seafood, I urge you to take him/​her here. The view is extremely nice, this place has cloth napkins & I had the house chop (a salad with avocado, chicken, bacon, roasted corn, red pepper and a great dressing). A unique combination that you wouldn’t think would go together but it was awesome. I’m sure the other food is even better. Aside from personal badness that left a bad taste in my mouth, the food and ambiance was terrific & I’d certainly want to come back.

For starters, I do not want this review to be based on the food, as I did not eat there. However, the fact that I wanted to leave just 5 mins after entering says a lot.
My firefighter and I sat at the bar on Saturday afternoon, and with two bartenders already there, it took over 5 mins for either one of them to even ask us how we were doing or if we liked something to drink!
Upon finally serving, I was pretty aggravated but decided to stay. We ordered a couple drinks and some waters. The bartender decided that it was a good idea to give me a foot-​in-​a-​half long straw for my standard sized glass of water!
I have to go behind the bar and show you which straw to use?! Come on now …

Our first waiter was super rude, as soon as he handed up the menu he immediately asked if he can take our order; If it was the first time my partner and I have been there and wasn’t aware of all the dinner choices. Shortly after we received our drinks our waiter changed, this second waiter never got his name however he was a bit nicer than the first server. The food arrived and it wasn’t appetizing, although my boyfriend’s Salmon meal was better than my Lamb (very well done) Burger. After finishing we asked for a dessert menu after viewing and opt out for dessert the server snatched the menu from my hand.
** While waiting for the check we also overheard a heated conversation with the host and the manger on duty. Which is super unprofessional and the conversation was held at the main entrance.

We didn’t order much. Had the river view burger which was good. And lobster ravioli which was very good. I love the cream sauce! The complimentary bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil is very good. Pricey though, I guess for the location

Just came here for wine, but excellent service from the hostess and server.
The décor and interior is quite lovely and cozy, will return!
My boyfriend and I sat in a nice little booth that overlooked the water. The restaurant is pretty close to the 7 train which is nice given the cold weather (and that being the closest train.)
If you’ve never been down to these parts, definitely take a stroll down the boardwalk and a gander at the beautiful NYC skyline!

Daylight robbery! I live in the same building as the restaurant and ordered the $ 10 lava cake. Basically a $ 2 microwave desert walked upstairs. Never felt more violated, luckily it’s only 10 bucks so I got some amusement from the astonishment.
Will never visit this restaurant for a full dinner on the back of this unashamed rip off.
