We consider quality and excellence the foundation of our company. We are our own van line; we do not subcontract or pass your move on to other companies. When you start with us, you end with us. History

Established in 1964.

Walsh Moving & Storage is a full service moving company that has been family owned and operated out of the same building in Torrance since 1964. Dick & Patricia Walsh started Walsh Moving with one truck and a small crew in 1964. Since then, Walsh has been serving Torrance and the surrounding cities. Dick & Patricia Walsh and sons operated Walsh Moving until they retired in 1996, passing the company to her nephews Thomas & Harry. Pat continued to help in the office with the bookkeeping. Thomas & Harry exceeded Pat’s expectations continuing the Walsh name. Walsh Moving dramatically expanded the company by expanding local operations and adding Long Distance moving, then in 1998, purchased a warehouse in Long Beach and began serving the cities of Long Beach and the surrounding area. Once she was satisfied Walsh was in good hands, Pat retired.

Meet the Business Owner

Thomas S.

Business Owner

Thomas was born and raised in the Torrance, CA area. Tom has been in the moving industry since 1974. He started off as a helper and at 21 years old purchased his first tractor-​trailer and performed long distance moving. After several years, Thomas took time off to further his education and El Camino College and then transferred to UCLA. After graduation, he was looking to purchase a small moving company. Tom wanted begin raising a family where he did not have to be out on the road. He heard through the family, that his aunt Pat was looking to sell Walsh Moving.

Thus, Tom recruited his brother Harry to be a partner and help manage the warehouse and local operations. And he recruited his older two brothers, Chuck & Richard, to help with maintenance and long distance driving. In 2004, Tom became the sole owner when Harry passed away. Currently, Tom manages the long distance moves while his nephew Chris manages the local moves.
