Our comprehensive bicycle repair and specialty servicing covers quick wash-​and-​lubes, standard tune ups, and complete overhauls — including rust removal — as well as custom paint, wheel builds, tire mounting and more.

History

Established in 2011.

Nicole and Evan opened The Bicycle Stand in 2011 because they just couldn’t seem to put their bikes away. After countless nights meticulously refurbishing vintage bikes out of their living room, they realized they needed more space.

Longtime cyclists, Nicole and Evan envisioned The Bicycle Stand as equal parts lifestyle boutique and repair/​restoration shop. Drawing inspiration from the passionate riders and collectors they had met while touring other bike-​friendly cities together, Nicole and Evan looked to foster their own unique brand of two-​wheeled revelry in their hometown.

Since launching, the store has become a hub for Long Beach’s burgeoning vintage bike community, welcoming beginners and casual cyclists alongside daily commuters and dedicated collectors. With a reputation for stellar customer service and unparalleled, impeccably detailed craftsmanship, Nicole, Evan and their team remain enthusiastic about promoting cycling within their community.

I found this shop on Broadway because I needed help re-​aligning my front wheel.
He took really good care, found a missing part, turned the wheel around i had put it on backwards. Very nice, helpful, knowledgeable. He wouldn’t even charge me for the service!
It is also a really cool looking shop, with hardwood floors, and many interesting bikes. The best! Thank you The Bicycle Stand.

Stopped by one day because I thought I wanted to buy a new bike. The young woman who helped me knew a lot and gave me a lot of helpful information. I told her I was just beginning my research and would think about it. I decided to go vintage and bought a great bike off of eBay. I took it to the Bicycle Stand for a complete over haul. They were super nice, helpful and did a great job. These people have integrity. I doubt they would ever deal in stolen bikes like some of the other shops in Long Beach (My bicycle on Orange). Support this shop.

This was the third shop that I had went to. The first two shops were very elitist and made me feel like cycling would be too difficult for someone like me to really invest in.
I came to this shop on a whim. They are in my neighborhood and across the street from my favorite pub. I went in expecting the same attitude as the other shops.
What I found instead were two amazing people. Evan and Nicole. They were polite, knowledgable and above all PATIENT.
Evan explained all of the options available for my ideal ride and took the time to pay attention to my my movement on the bike to ensure accurate fit and even let me take several of the bikes on a short trip to feel it out.
Nicole was insanely sweet and informative.
I am grateful for their attentiveness and genuine care.
I won’t go anywhere else.

This is a great bike shop. The staff is friendly and helpful, but never pushy. I’ve been coming here for a few years, beginning when the shop wasn’t much larger than an oversized closet, for parts, accessories, and service. They’ve always gone above and beyond. They’re in a much larger location that really allows them to shine to their full potential. Recently, I was looking to buy a bicycle for my girlfriend. Hers had been stolen and her birthday was approaching. Linus had a killer deal on a bike that was perfect for her. I called The Bicycle Stand to see if they could order the bike for me at the same price. Eric, the manager, said he’d check. He called back a day later saying he could and had ordered the bike for me. A few days later the bike arrives. However Linus hadn’t honored the price agreed to with The Bicycle Stand. Eric said they’d still honor the price with me though. How’s that for integrity and great customer service? Speaks volumes about what kind of people they are. Can’t recommend them enough.

I would give this place 7 stars if I could.
First of all I’m a bike idiot. I know nothing about bikes and need to have everything explained in 5 year old terms.
I came in because my bike was having problems about 2 months ago, they gave me a quote and I decided to not get anything done. They were totally cool with with it. First cool point to them.
I come back because my car broke down, meaning I have to ride my bike (and I have two that are broken). So they give me a quote to fix the first bike, and adjust the second bike (it was making a noise) so that I could write it to work. No charge. Second cool point to them.
Also, they added on a handlebar adjustment for 15 $ without telling me beforehand. I would have gladly paid for it because of how much they’ve helped me beforehand. But when I mentioned it to them «hey there’s a new charge on there» (not complaining) and they asked me if I had been aware of it before and I said no, no questions Chad took it off the price. That was pretty cool of them.
Third cool point to them.
Needless to say this place is legit. They take care of you and are fair. I know I’ve been more of a pain in the butt to them than anything, but whenever I need to buy something for my bike or need to get it fixed, I’m coming here, or recommending it to everyone I know. The second bike aforementioned that Chad adjusted ended up working perfectly fine, by the way. Thanks Bicycle Stand and especially Chad For all your help!

My boyfriend decided to buy me a bicycle. However, I’m a short girl so most bicycles don’t fit me. He found a Linus Roadster 26″ in Rosewood online, and saw that this shop carried Linus bikes. So we had to pay them a visit!
Evan is the best! He helped us order the bicycle and even mentioned that the size was perfect for my height. My boyfriend wanted to write a review specifically praising Evan for being such a helpful and friendly salesman. He even remembered his name, which not many people do nowadays! Evan was very generous in accommodating the total cost.
We are definitely going to come back regularly!

Hands down the best bike shop I’ve ever been to! They have a great variety of bikes and accessories. What really sold me was the customer service. Within 1 minute someone approached me and asked if I needed help, and then referred me to a lady named Summer. Summer was extremely patient with me and also knew what she was talking about. I wanted to buy a bike for my girlfriends birthday, and she recommended me to buy a Linus bike that was actually on sale. I will definitely come back and shop again :).

Love this bike shop. They carry a select but awesome range of bikes. I bought a Linus one speed and I’m in love with it. The bike is super good looking, has vintage details, and is extremely comfortable to ride. Eric helped me out fit my ride with a lock, back rack, and lights. I was ready to ride and out the door in about 30 minutes. I’d definitely recommend shopping here to anyone who is looking for a city cruiser, beach cruiser, or road bake. Awesome service and great selection!

Love this shop. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. No snobs here and you never feel like you are bothering them. Evan is a walking encyclopedia of cycling and is very passionate about his work. Inventory is a good mix of vintage and modern items. You also never feel like they’re just trying to make a buck off you or you are being taken advantage of.

Hands down the best bicycle shop in the county.
This past xmas i searched high and low for leather seat/​wood crate for my wife’s Linus we bought the year prior. All the other bike shops from Orange-​Tustin-​Costa Mesa didn’t have any in stock and if they did, they wouldn’t swap out a seat they had on a floor model.
I finally made my way back down to The Bicycle Stand at their new location in Long Beach. Evan sold us our Linus the year prior and was available to swap out a seat and sell me a high quality crate for my wife’s bike.
For any and all biking needs our family only trusts The Bicycle Stand.

My two experiences have overall been good. The folks that work there REALLY know their stuff about bikes, and when I needed work done, offered to do a few extras like toss in batteries on my rear light (as long as I brought the battery in, which is totally cool) and adjust the seat. But when I had my two tires trued, as I rode away the front tire was still faintly grazing the brake pad. The good news is that when I called, Evan offered to adjust it whenever I returned. But one star was lost since the work wasn’t truly trued.

I had a project bicycle that needed a lot of help — those old French bikes certainly don’t conform to modern standards! Head heavy with shame and a partially-​built bicycle with a bag full of extra parts in hand, I rolled into the shop during lunch. Immediately I was greeted and helped by the staff. They asked me what I was looking to do, what I had already done, and then went over all the steps they were going to take to get me riding. Awesome stuff.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when I discovered that some of the vintage parts I sourced wouldn’t quite fit right. I had to go and search for period-​appropriate parts that added about a week to my wait time. Oh the French!
Anyway, I did eventually get my bike back and to say it was worth all that time is a severe understatement. While it was certainly in rideable condition when I first bought it, it was now in tip-​top shape and gorgeous to boot! Seriously, I love my ‘bacon and it’s thanks to the awesome people at The Bicycle Stand! As a daily work commuter, she is unparalleled.
Even the price was more than reasonable, considering everything that had to get done (derailleurs, barcon shifters, cork tape, wheel truing, vintage decals, cleaning, and waxing). I’ve since recommended them to everyone under the sun who needs a tune or even a whole new bike (vintage or otherwise). Also they’re the only place I’ve found that sells and services Brompton folding bikes (which made my UK-​transplant friends very happy). They are courteous, patient, and knowledgeable with zero pretentiousness.

Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They care about the community and their customers. Any question you have, no matter how simple, they will answer.
This shop is great for people of all abilities and riding styles from daily commuters like me, to tourers, weekend warriors, people that ride bikes just for fun and professional and amateur racing types.
You can see the sparkle in their eyes when you talk to them about anything bicycle related. This place is fun and professional. You won’t regret giving them your business.

If you want a homey, friendly bike shop to build a relationship with, this shop is THAT place. The workers are VERY friendly yet impressively knowledgeable. They do not urge you to buy and doesn’t have the «sales» vibe like other shops around the area. It’s very easy to build a relation with this shop. In my honest opinion, customer service and care goes a long way.
On to the bikes… THE bikes are top notch. They don’t sell cheap quality bikes. All of the bikes are top quality. If they don’t have what youre looking for, they CAN and will order one. They do custom jobs too. Whatever you can dream of, they can make it come true. I love it when you buy your bike, if you want a different part, you will just pay for labor, and they will swap it out for you. They will accommodate your riding needs and will send you out with the best bike fitted for your riding style.
For my bike, I told them my problems. I rode too low. My neck hurts after an hour of biking. They custom fit the seat and lifted the handle bar to match the riding position most comfortable to me. My neck doesn’t strain no more, my arms doesn’t get sore. They are best at what they do. You have a problem, they got the answer.

I walked into this store as a total newbie, and to my pleasant surprise the customer service here, as a start was wonderful. I was approached while looking at the line of bicycles by a worker. She was great, answered all of my questions I threw at her, and was very patient.
After finding the bike I wanted, I love how she incorporated my sense of style and opinion, where other shops I’ve gone into it felt more like, «what you see is what you get.» I loved all of the suggestions and options that were given to me as she said, «if you could think it, it could probably happen.»
When it came down to the customizing they did everything in about an hour, and I was very happy with how careful and precise everything was done by the other worker who did all the customizing.
The end result was all love. I love my new ride and I couldn’t have been more satisfied from the place I bought it from. I met one of the owners and just from her sweet disposition and care for her customers shows how family oriented this place is. A place that is definitely worth supporting.

I couldn’t possibly love this place more.
My boyfriend got me an 80’s Bianchi for my birthday from their old location, as well as getting himself one. They fixed ‘em up to our likings and they’re just perfect for us.
Everyone that works here feels like a friend to us. It’s a good feeling to trust people in times of need (flats, chains, accesories, hangouts, rides, etc.).
Love their new location and couldn’t be happier for the owners, Evan and Nicole.
