Came here to see a concert! Absolutely love the venue. My seats were in the Lodge 2 Row 3, and I absolutely loved the view. I opted for the lodge instead of Orchestra because for one, all aisle seats were taken, and I did notice that there is no aisle in between, so you will need to through about 20 people to be able to get out of there, and that was not an option for me since I tend to use the restroom quite a bit if I’m drinking alcohol. There are many cocktail stations throughout the venue, as well as outside. I loved that there are little seating areas outside with heaters. The staff is pretty friendly, and it is very clean. I gave it 4 stars, because there was only one restroom stall properly working in the bathroom and there was a long line. Other than that, I really enjoyed the concert and this venue. Will definitely come back again for concerts.

I like Terrace Theater! It’s really nice. The seats are comfortable. There is plenty of leg room, and it’s not too big of a theater that you can’t see the stage. Parking is no problem in this area. There are plenty of options to park. Terrace Theater’s entrance is right behind that gigantic pool/water fountain thing. We came here to watch a few bands in concert. The music was not too bad, only when they had the bass on too high. A bottle of soda here was $ 4.50!

My friend and I went here for a throwback 90’s R&B concert last night. The sound system was excellent! Performances were great! Seats were spacious and the venue was clean. A parking structure is directly across from the convention center and connects to the venue by walking over a bridge. It would be helpful if there is a sign that says«Terrace Theatre» for those who don’t know it’s part of the Convention Center and says Performing Arts on the building.

It would really help first timer’s if there was a sign that said«Terrace Theater» on Ocean Blvd. I clearly saw the«Convention Center» on top of the building. But I did not see any sign that said«Terrace Theater». I did not know it was inside that building. I had to call to ask. Very stressful when I was dropping off my daughter for her graduation. She texted me a few times after I dropped her in front at the fountains, asking«where do I go?». She finally saw some other students. How about a sign out front? That would be nice. Afterthought: stairwells nasty, pee-ridden. Dark, scary parking structure. How about an upgrade to the whole building? It was built in 1978. Come on City of LB.

Seen the Avett Brothers here. No complaints on venue. Alcohol is expensive but what venue isn’t. Bathrooms are clean. Seats were good. Sound was excellent. The band was awesome. No purse check so sneak in your alcohol. Oh I will say one thing that was not great is the bar closed maybe an hour before the band stopped playing. So yes, sneak in alcohol! Cheers!

Saw the nutcracker here a few weeks ago: — Very unorganized staff — Less than helpful staff, many were rude — Boring snack bar(s) — No one shows you to your seat — Ticket prices online varied by seat, but seating at the actual show was not really assigned. Why did we waste time/money selecting seats in the first place? — $ 10 parking I can’t say I was impressed at all. Meh.

Went and saw the Long Beach Ballot perform the Nutcracker. This is a very CLEAN theater and the ever seat is a good one. They really need to do something about the women’s restrooms or lack of. I feel really sorry for them. During intermission the line for the ladies room is a mile long. Intermission has to be 30 mins so the ladies can all get through the line. Other then that it is an AMAZING theater and the Long Beach Ballot did excellent job.

Went here to see Jim Gaffigan(love him)… did not enjoy the theater. The sound system setup was horrible, too much bass so we weren’t able to hear Jim Gaffigan’s jokes. I could have done without paying the extra mulla and stayed home to listen to him on spotify or youtube. Do not recommend this theater for any shows, unless you like paying lots of money, enjoy looking for parking, and revel in pretending to make out what your artist is saying … then i would recommend this theater. Upside: the décor was nice. — Wait i just read the reviews, and also noticed that people’s chief complaint is the sound system. So if the owners of this theater reads this… perhaps fix the sound system! — update 12÷11÷14 Hubz contacted the theater and they apologized and said they are working on the sound system to improve it. Also redeem our tickets for another show. Added another star just for customer service professionalism. However, updated review will happen when we go to another show & experience the better sound quality . —

My graduation was held there in the Terrace Theater. Beautiful location and near shops, food, bars and the beach. The center is huge of course and there is parking everywhere, free and paid.

I attended a concert at this venue and was unsatisfied. The performers were great, but the sound quality was awful. The vocals were very difficult to make out which took away from the overall experience. Our seats were on ground level, 25 rows from the stage; In my opinion we were in close enough proximity to not have this issue. My advice, choose another venue.

Ir was a Very quick and smooth to entrance. Parking was located directly across the street and underneath the Terrance. They had aboyt 3 food trucks in front. There was a few bars inside Terrance. Drinks were pretty good but pricey for a clear plastic cup. The seating area had plenty of leg room. When people cross over you they will not step on your foot. It seemed to me that everywhere you sit in the Terrancr you could see stage. Overall, its a small theater but I wouldn’t hesitate seeing another event there.

My first visit to the Terrace Theater was last night to see Dave Chappelle. I really liked the venue and the seating. Seats are simply designed and comfortable enough to sit through a few comedians and a small jazz band for about three hours. Also, I found the restrooms to be very pleasant and well kept. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got to the venue, in terms of food & drink. There were a few random food trucks outside the venue, like hot wings and Starbucks, and cupcakes. Random. Inside there were at least three bar stations set up, but the lines were kind of long so I opted out. My only complaint about this venue is the sound system.(This seems to be a consistent complaint for this venue on Unilocal.) The sound was very muddy and muffled, and I overhead other people complaining about the same thing after the show. My boyfriend and I had tickets for seating in the upper right Loge section. My friend who had tickets for mid-seating in the 2nd row from the stage also complained of the muddy sound system. Because sound is so crucial to seeing a comedian live, I just wouldn’t feel right about giving four stars for this review. Otherwise, this venue is just fine.

We recently saw Bill Maher here, and it was the first time I’ve been here for an event outside of the the elementary school field trips to see the symphony orchestra. I have to say that it was better than I expected it to be. First, parking was easy. There is plenty garage and surface parking. There was the Maher event and a separate event in the arena and there was still plenty of parking and not much of a walk to the theater. Once piece of advice that I can give about the parking is to exit out toward Shoreline drive as the line is much shorter over in that direction. Inside the grand lobby which is an open air space lined with glass, there is a long underground bar. To accommodate the extra theater goers, they set up makeshift bars throughout the lobby so the wait for drinks wasn’t too bad. Prices are typical for these types of events. The theater itself is nice and the seats are comfortable. My only complaint is that there are no center aisles so the only way to your seat is from the far left or the far right. That means that if you are seated in the center you will have to crawl over 25 – 30 people to get to your seat, which could be frustrating if you need to get up during the performance. Other than that, not a bad venue overall, and the fact that close to home always makes that much better.

Here is a little history for you before I get to my review. For 45 years, the very grand, 8000 seat, Long Beach Municipal Theater stood in the same space the LB Terrace Theater stands now. That is until 1975 when it was demolished and construction began on the new Terrace Theater, Arena and the LB Convention Center. The Terrace Theater opened its doors in 1978 and has been a place for people to be entertained ever since. It’s a beautiful venue that feels very grand to me. Not grand in the sense of marble staircases, gold leaf covered everything and priceless artwork on display everywhere. No that would be the Palace of Versailles in France.
This Theater feels grand because of the whole front wall is glass. Grand because of the beautiful water feature /fountains out front. Grand because of the large cantilevered staircases suspended above the main lobby. Grand because of what you see when you walk through the doors from the lobby into the theater, especially for the first time. Grand because of the size, scale and layout of this theater. No it’s not a huge 16,000+ seat arena, it’s a 3051 seat theater! Hmm… am I over doing it a little? Naaaah! The downside? Well there are two. #1 Parking. The parking structure is plenty large enough for everyone and it’s $ 10 to park. But when it’s time to leave, you could be sitting there for what feels like 15 — 30 minutes waiting for everyone else to move enough so you can make it to the exit. #2 Headphones for the«hearing impaired». I got a pair for my dad to use so he could hear everything better. The headphones themselves worked great, however he kept complained about it being«too echo-y» and couldn’t understand anything because of it. I put them on to listen and sure enough it was! It sounded like the audio source was from a microphone located somewhere IN the theater, NOT plugged directly into the sound board network where it SHOULD have been! One star deduction for this! I’ve been here a number of times over the past 15 years for a variety of mostly musicals and comedians. The most recent was Jeff Dunham on Thursday night.
This was the first time I’ve seen his show live. It was funny as hell and I nearly laughed my ass off! Good thing I didn’t laugh my ass off, I would pretty damn funny with no ass! LOL

Came here to see Jeff Dunham last night. Great comedy show. The theater is a nice venue. Not too big. Rows spaced just far enough apart so people can move with minimal inconvenience to everyone else in the row. They could have used better ventilation last night. Many people fanning them selves. Maybe the full house had something to do with it. To the Cow that sat in row 13, seat 57 last night… you need to buy two seats next time. You took up half of mine with your«upper body spillover». Almost 3 hours of sitting next to the Blob of Long Beach.

I came here to see George Lopez. Great venue and very well taken care of. My seats were on the 7th row and it was just perfect. I believe anything further from that and even balcony is HORRIBLE and too way back to see anything, that’s just my opinion. Staff was very helpful on finding and pointing out my seat. Also I must add that the seats were very comfortable since we were sitting there for couple of hours. Will definitely come here again for a comedy show. But definitely front row!

This is one of my favorite South Bay /OC venues. I have been here to see multiple events — from the ballet to kids’ shows — and have never been disappointed in my seats or the shows themselves. I even sat in the VERY last row in the VERY highest section one time and the seats were still good and I could see just fine. Prices are usually reasonable and deals are abundant(check Goldstar for cheap tickets before you buy from Ticket Master)!!! Seats are comfy and leg room is plentiful. Beware if you get your tickets in the middle of your row — — you will have to walk by about 50 seats to get to it(there are no center aisles where you can get in easier or cut through). I always try to get aisle seats here but, honestly, getting a center of the row seat wouldn’t stop me from going to see something that I was really interested in seeing… I generally don’t leave during the shows anyways. The line for the downstairs bathroom is usually LONG during intermissions, but there are about 15 bathroom stalls inside(so even though it looks long, the line goes very fast — faster than if you went upstairs to one of the other bathrooms). A bar is always set up in the lobby and you can usually buy food at the concessions. The food is relatively expensive, but good — — last time I was there I got a veggie«plate» with hummus(I don’t know if it was worth $ 6 or $ 7, but it was good!). During the intermissions, you can usually go outside, so I will take my little one and let her run around the fountain in front of the theater for a bit so that she can sit still during the rest of the show. Parking is easy — you can park in one of the two«stacked» garages(in front of the theater or near the convention center) for about $ 10 a car, but there are also multiple lots nearby that charge the same price. ***For a deal, drive to the corner of Pine and Seaside(2 or three blocks down from the theater) and only pay $ 5 to park on the day of the event***(I’m usually running late, so I haven’t ever done this — lol — but I always see the sign!!). The people that work here during the events are friendly and helpful, if you need anything. I will definitely be back and if you haven’t been here, you should stop by and check it out!(:

I think if this theater were anywhere else in Long Beach — say, closer to CSULB — it would just be an average theater. But its location on Ocean Blvd., with downtown LB and a host of cool places nearby(and occasionally a food truck outside!), make this one of my favorite theaters to see a show. I’ve never once parked in their structure($ 10); there are nearby private lots for half that. I’ve seen a few different performances here over the years and I’d give their annual lineup 3.5 stars… there’s usually someone of interest to me once or twice a year, but not more often than that. The shows that I have seen, however, have been really well-run. Kathy Griffin’s show a couple weekends ago was lots of fun, despite a late start(they didn’t start letting people into the theater until after the show had been scheduled to start!). The space inside isn’t particularly modern or noteworthy; as other have noted — the rows tend to be VERY long without many aisle breaks, so sitting in the middle will guarantee lots of annoyed audience members if you have to get up to use the restroom during the show. But there isn’t really a bad seat in the house. Overall, this is a great place to see a show!

Really nice venue. Saw Kathy Griffin do a show here and had a great time. Lots of leg room and comfy seats.
