I purchased some amazing (out of production) Oliver People glasses here and had the most pleasant expierience here! I have a wide head and find that near all glasses punch my temples often causing headaches. I came in seriously doubting I’d find anything worthwhile, but I was in dire need of new glasses. In minutes the owner picked out a fresh pair of Wyler style Oliver Peoples and the fit was perfect! No headaches and no pain!!! The style and color was magnificent, but unfortunately they were out of production (the we’re part of the spring collection), but this eyewear guru found them by ordering them as sunglasses and exchanging the lenses for my prescription. They carry the most fashionable and most distinguished glasses I’ve seen and are knowledgeable about their product I highly recommend making this your one stop shop for eye wear!

This was my repeat purchase here and once again I’m a happy customer. I was searching for a matte black frame and found a vintage pair there. Jennifer showed me all the similar variations from all their stock to make me feel i was making an informed purchase. I always go with my gut, and my glasses are so perfect! Marc and Jennifer know their s**t! No need to cruise up to L.A. to get the good stuff. It’s all here at Second Street Optique.

Great frames and wonderful customer service. The best eyeglasses experience I can remember.
They don’t take VSP, but reimbursement is painless (and cost-​effective). The price I paid upfront was comparable to what normally is a co-​pay for VSP. Optique Boutique sent in the forms, and VSP sent me a check a couple of days after I picked up my glasses. After I received my reimbursement from VSP, the total price I paid for these glasses was about half what I normally pay as a co-​pay.
More than the money, the glasses they chose for me are perfect and their customer service is A++++

The only thing to be said about Second Street Optique is that in every aspect of doing business with someone they are exceptional. Without fail on every visit, I have been greeted with a smile and a hello. Their inventory of eyewear couldn’t be more on trend! With my favorite being Oliver Peoples to Tom Ford. The bonus is their customer service is impeccable! This place is awesome. I took both my vintage Dior glasses and my Tom Ford sunglasses in here, and was quickly reassured I was in good hands. The owner Jennifer is completely professional, knowledgeable, and very reasonable. She even gave the cutest case for free. If you’re looking for stylish and one of a kind pieces, look no further.

I’m an inner city elementary school teacher who was simply trying to do a student a favor.
One of my student’s glasses broke (specifically, it needed a screw in one of the eye wire to prevent the lens from falling out). My student suffers from albinism that causes low vision, meaning that she experiences significant vision loss and cannot be without her glasses. Light (even that from overhead florescents) is a significant problem due to the lack of pigment in her eyes and her glasses have a constant tint for indoor use and get darker when she is in the sun. Knowing that her parents are less than diligent in her care, she brought them to me, and I felt that I have a duty to help her.
I came to Second Street Optique and briefly explained my situation to the woman at the front desk, seeing if she will be willing to help.
Uninterestedly, she glanced at the glasses and noted that it is also missing a notepad, and that it will cost $ 10 to replace the screw and notepads since it is not obtained from their store.
Now, if I was bringing in my own glasses, fine, charge me, I’ll pay. But even explaining that I was trying to help out a student, the saleswoman seemed apathetic, lacked any compassion, and remained all about profit.
We left without fixing the glasses here. Fortunately, we were able to find another optical shop, Kurata in Little Tokyo, with much better service and were completely empathic. They even hooked my student up with a nice case and lense cleaning wipes and solution

Today I had the pleasure of interacting with the most knowledgable Optician. I only wanted a fresh pair of sunglasses that were also stylish and fit my face properly. Marc the owner/​manager was so happy to help me with my predicament! Once we found a pair that we both loved we added polarized lenses to reduce glare… He was so fast at putting everything together and adjusting the frames to fit my face properly. It was the most pleasant hour of my day!!! I will definitely be recommending him to everyone with their eye care needs!

I couldn’t be happier with Marc and 2^nd Street Optique. My sight is very poor without correctional lenses and when they broke, I brought them into 2^nd St Optique to see if they could be fixed (which they couldn’t)
Vision exam to selection of frames to delivery of new glasses for a very challenging prescription… All under 4 days!
My new glasses are the most stylish pair I have ever owned and they ended up being better quality and less price than any other pair I have purchased. Marc was very knowledgeable and also knew how to instinctually recommend eyewear styles for me to consider. I love EVERYTHING he chose, the hardest part was me making a final decision on which pair to pick up!
I will be back in the next two weeks for a second pair and for prescription sunglasses!

This place offers great lenses, and friendly staff that are willing to make sure you walk out happy!
I had seen a pair of frames in Vegas that I really liked and months later wanted to see if they had something similar in the store. Come to find out the frames I liked were custom ordered for that Vegas store… BUT Marc was able to find something similar and went out of his way to customize the frames that we looked turning them into a one of a kind pair.

I have never been treated with such little respect. The employee of this establishment, MARC, is so pretentious and won’t give you the time of day unless your flashing hundreds in his face. Came to make a purchase but this guys attitude made me do the quickest U turn of my life. DO NOT SUPPORT!

A+ for customer service, style, and value. The manager suggested a great style, helped me file my insurance claim, and also helped me fix them when needed. This place is a wonderful place to do business. A+

I called ahead and asked if they could re size my sunglasses that I bought on a website (a little bit too tight for me), they told me to come on by. I walked in to a very clean, shop that felt like a beautiful «beach/​art deco» gallery of glasses and frames. Jennifer was extremely pleasant and when I told her my situation she Immediately remembered the phone call that I made 3+ hours earlier! She fixed my shades very quickly while still taking good care of them. She then also taught me a lot about glasses in general. They told me if I had any issues to call or come back and see them, A+ service all around!!! My sunglasses now fit perfect and will back for my reading glasses. Overall GREAT products with an extremely knowledgeable, and friendly staff!!! I will be referring friends and family to this business! Thank you Second Street Optique!!!

Recently purchased my second pair of glasses here. This place is the best! Marc and Jennifer are great; super knowledgable, professional and courteous. And we could’t believe the selection of frames. Marc helped me pick out some great Oliver Peoples frames. I get compliments from everyone, even strangers. Because so many folks ask me where I got them, I called him and asked him to send me some business cards. No kidding! Thank you 2^nd Street Optique! Will make the drive up from Oceanside anytime I need frames.

What a selection of amazing frames. My family has been going to this shop for years and years, so when we found out it was changing hands we were pretty bummed. Oh my were we happily surprised. This is hands down the best optical shop around. Not only is there a huge amount of unique awesome frames to choose from, Mark and Jennifer are knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful. Mark directed me to getting progressive digital seiko lenses, stating he thought they would better suit my needs than the even more expensive progressives I had been directed to elsewhere. He was SO right. I love my new frames and lenses and they actually cost less than they would have at my MD’s office with insurance coverage. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Oh, and the ambiance is very cool too.

Wow! What a great experience. The bridge on my glasses broke away from the lens and I don’t have another pair. I took the glasses in and Jennifer — the infamous Jennifer of Unilocal fame — helped me. She did not have the pieces she needed to fix my glasses, so she took apart a pair of glasses that were in the display and used pieces of the display glasses to fix my glasses. It would have been so easy to send me away and have me wait for the part to be delivered in the future, but she did not do that — she was creative and fixed my problem right then. Wow! What a great experience.

I am so happy I came in here to get my glasses adjusted. I had recently gotten new glasses at a different location where the optician hadn’t been able to adjust them properly so I was left with a sharp pain behind my ears when I wore them. This is the first pair of glasses I’ve had that I need to wear all the time, so I really wanted a good fit and after stopping into an optometrist in Long Beach to see if they could «adjust» them for me, I was frustrated and unhappy with the results.
I decided to go into Second Street Optique and I was so happy I did. Mark was amazingly helpful, and he showed his expertise right away. He genuinely wanted my glasses to fit perfectly, and they did. I was so happy with the customer service and attention paid to make me happy.
About a week later, I went back after my lenses were replaced and my frames were tampered with, and Jennifer helped me. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and used care and expertise to make my glasses fit great without pain.
This place has true customer service, and I’m definitely going back here to get my next pair of glasses. They have definitely earned a loyal customer!

This location has recently went under a major remodel. Not only did the remodel bring a new, cool & open vibe, but it brought more inventory & selection with it. I saw brands and styles I didn’t see here before.
I don’t really like wearing glasses, but this place had so much to try on, I ended up finding a pair that I actually like wearing. They were a Prada brand style. The guy behind the counter was friendly and seemed to know a lot about the products & brands he’s selling.
When I decided on the pair I wanted, they had the frames in stock already which I found cool since before I would have to wait and order them.
If you’re in the market for some new frames or eyewear this would be the spot to go. You can’t miss it, since they have one of the coolest window displays on 2^nd street!
