Residence Inn Long Beach Downtown

We stayed here for 2 nights. The night before and the night of our friends wedding. Night one was for the Bride and the bridal party. The rooms were perfect. Plenty of room for everyone to get ready. We had two rooms, one suite and one regular room. The layout of the rooms were very comfortable and it made our event more enjoyable. The décor was modern, well kept, comfortable and the view of the water made for great «getting ready» pictures. Both rooms were well equipped. The hotel although well booked did not seem crowded and we were not able to hear any of our neighbors. We used the fitness room which was clean and had enough equipment for the entire party to use. We also enjoyed the breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The dining area was full of families and was very cozy. I was very happy with our stay.

This hotel is beyond amazing. They have free food for dinner three nights a week… And trust me it fills you up so much! These three nights they also have free beer and wine. Everything is unlimited and it is superior. The staff is probably one of the best parts. The front desk worker, good workers, maids, etc. are SO nice, helpful, and genuine. Matt at the front desk was EXTREMELY helpful. They helped me with everything and anything during my entire stay. The atmosphere of the hotel is great considering they are right by the long beach port, they have nice outdoor seating and a nice swimming pool. Everything felt luxurious. The room was amazing too because I had a full kitchen which was great. I am definitely staying here every time I’m in Long Beach!

This particular Residence Inn is essentially par for the course and tends to bank on the location more so than anything else. Don’t get me wrong, the service is actually pretty good but the grounds are already starting to get a bit rundown and dirty. The lobby and hall as well as the elevators were in desperate need of a deep clean. The rooms however, were spacious, nicely decorated and are laid out well. This particular hotel actually has a nice little walking path that takes you directly to the Queen Mary and is quite nice for an evening walk. Overall, the location is awesome and room is nice but the actual vibe is a tad ghetto based on the cleanliness factor.

We had a beautiful stay here, I used my points for 1 night after traveling from the Bay Area for our 5^th wedding anniversary… It was beyond peaceful, didn’t hear any noise or anything, it was great! Nice spacious bedroom and bathroom. Everything was great!

We stayed here at the Residence Inn because we are leaving for Catalina in the morning and were impressed with every aspect of our stay. The rooms were comfortable and spacious the staff was extremely helpful. The complementary breakfast was better than most I’ve had at previous hotels they had waffles eggs sausage muffins bagels cereal and lots of other choices to pick from. The views are awesome and the location is great will be staying here again for sure!

This is a nice hotel. Nice location. I had trouble locating my credit card and the front desk clerk Matt was so patient and kind. He even watched my bags so I could print something out on the computer. The room was nice. The pull out couch beds are not half bad. All and all good experience. Parking is a little ridiculous. 17 or something a night. Ouch.

Right next to a boat launch, if you’re a boat owner. (I’m not but just saying… That’s cool). Wake up to a waterfront view. Parking is $$ but it’s doable. Free continental breakfast. Outdoor pool. And a gym.
Close to downtown for a quick drive or Über over. Just not really walking distance. Well, comfortable walking distance that is.
Upon check-​in asked for a recommended hike. Only about a 30 – 40 minute drive north to a beachside hike.
Overall, thumbs up. Just not the best. Location wise, I was hoping it was it would be in the heart of downtown, which it isn’t. A little misleading.

Spent a few nights here for my birthday! Happy with the service and the room. Breakfast is included and for both of the nights I was there, they held small mixer parties with snacks and complimentary drinks! Pretty cool. The best part was my room! I had a beautiful, gorgeous view of Long Beach City and the Bay! Loved it! Thanks to my friend at the front desk. the gentleman with the specs! I had a grand time!

Nice place. nice staff. kinda isolated from the places we visit, santa monica and vinice beach. but non the less hotel is very nice and clean. smells absolutely great thruout the whole hotel, its a very nice consistant smell. would stay again if need be in this area.

Stayed here for the ISSE show and my coworker and I had a great stay. We loved the complimentary breakfast in the mornings, the waffles are the bomb! Everyone was so nice and helpful too which we appreciated.
The Passport shuttle stops right outside for easy access to the downtown area.
The bed was super comfy and everything was clean.

Stayed here for literally less than 24 hours, but it was a wonderful stay regardless. I had to book a room last minute and this hotel (through the Unilocal reviews of course) seemed like the best option.
Got in late, but the front desk concierge was more than accommodating. Told us about good places to eat around the downtown area and gave me a small bag as a token from the hotel that had small amenities in it.
The room was a one bedroom suite overlooking the water. The view itself was breathtaking because it overlooked the marina with all of the docked boats. The room was spacious and included a standard sized fridge and freezer, stove top, microwave, and basically a full on kitchen. The bathroom was also very clean and spacious.
All around good experience and very nice stay, but parking is $ 17, which is always a bummer and the cost of the room was overpriced for a stay less than 24 hours. Considering it was last minute, I understood it, but I still didn’t really like the price of it. I would, however, recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone considering the cleanliness and how well-​kept the hotel is.

Bed Bugs found on my bed AFTER sleeping in it over night on 10÷18÷15. I was horrified and filed a claim in order to be reimbursed. The hotel claims representative finally called us today stating they would issue a refund and they were aware of the situation!!! they had sprayed just 2 – 3 days earlier and ASSUMED it was ok. I will NEVER stay here again. We were at such great heights of bringing this home with us. Horrible experience.

My family will always choose Residence if we have options. Hotel is clean, friendly, and safe. I like that rooms look like a home rather than a hotel. Kitchen was fully stocked, which was helpful since we were celebrating Anniversary with wine and needed a bottle opener. Opened drawer in kitchen and there it was. Also full of cups, glasses, plates, etc… Like being at home.
Staff are super friendly. We came in super late after a concert and guy at front lobby (ZANDER) was very friendly and helpful since his computers weren’t working. He helped us get some late night snacks and drinks. Even wished us happy anniversary. We forgot a lot of stuff on this trip. So when we called front desk they even came up with a ton more shampoo and conditioner. FREE BREAKFAST was good. Food warm and they kept it fully stocked. After breakfast we were able to walk along the waterfront all the way down to the Queen Mary. Needless to say we had a very good stay.

Had a wonderful experience for our anniversary weekend! Staff was very efficient and professional so check in was a breeze. We arrived around 2:30pm and luckily we were able to get settled in early. Upon entering the room I was stunned. I am very picky as to where we will stay when traveling. This gem popped up last minute after a 2 week search. Daily breakfast is more than just continental and the views of the marina in the lobby are gorgeous. Parking is a downer at $ 17 a night, but the stay was so great that I didn’t mind after checking out.

Clean excellent area. Really nice lobby and helpful staff. Zelda gave my daughter 2 cookies and she was helpful with directions to great spots in town. Quiet, sophisticated ambiance. they welcome pets here.

My family and I got here Sunday afternoon. Greeted by two gentlemen and got checked in. Very welcoming & warm personalities. Chatted with the family, as I always do, I just listen. Being a customer service person, I check hints and body language. Theirs are outstanding!
The room we got is by the water, perfect sight to see! Got recommendations to where we can go and it was just perfect! Free breakfast, not outstanding, but the basics are just perfect! Can’t go wrong with coffee & yogurt and fresh fruits! My step sons going to Long Beach State university, and I’m quite sure it’s not the last time were checking in! Love it!

I was surprised in a good way. Way more iris then cons. The only con was the bed was not as comfortable as I’d like but that’s just a clear sign I’m about to enter my 30s staff was nice and amenities were great. Breakfast was decent and location was ok. Being on the other side of the water might have made more sense. We were in turn for the Grand Prix and there seemed to be a lot of activity goin on over on the other side.

Out of all the hotels I’ve been to, this hotel is the fastest and most efficient with check-​ins and cleaning.
When me and my family arrived yesterday around 11am to the hotel, we were checked in, in just 10 mins and thats including two rooms! Even though our check-​in was suppose to be at 4pm, the manager Shannon Walker had reserved our rooms for anytime check-​in due to our situation. The customer service is super friendly. They cater to their guests with accommodations and everything else.
The self-​parking is at $ 17 and that includes in-​and-​out privileges. Intercontinental breakfast starts at 8am which includes: scrambled eggs, sausage patties, red skin potatoes, waffles station & pancakes, cereals & oatmeal, bevs, fruits, breads, etc. The food was actually good for what it is. It’s frequently stocked and made fresh. The lobby space includes comfy lounge seating with a view of the water deck and downtown. Yes, there is a pool with a jacuzzi! so go ahead and pack your swim wear.
Overall, my experience was great. The rooms are clean and includes a mini kitchen with a fold-​out sofa bed in the living room! That is a plus for sure. I definitely recommend this hotel for guests staying in Long Beach because 1) It’s right at the ocean front and 2) It’s 5 mins away from downtown and a min away from nearby restaurants/​activity areas.

I had a reward certificate that was expiring in a few weeks and decided to utilize it here. I used my new application on my phone from Marriott to verify my room was ready for an early afternoon check in. When I arrived I was greeted with a VIP package which included two bottles of water, Pepperidge Farm cookies and a bag of pretzels. In addition, I was given welcome reward points and the overnight parking was comped.
This Residence Inn is unique since the units aren’t like condos but similar to a Courtyard or Fairfield Inn. Each unit has an equipped kitchen, living room, office area and pet friendly which my pug IZ experienced for the first time since I adopted him from Pasadena SPCA. Hot breakfast is served daily and there’s happy hour get together Monday through Wednesday.
My room has a view of the Queen Mary, Shoreline Village and nearby many retail shops and restaurants which was convenient.
I would suggest this hotel if you’re here for business or pleasure.

The bf (now hubby) and I had to find a hotel to get ready at for our wedding. We had wanted to go to the hotel at the Pike, but it was WAY overtly expensive for what it was offering. Yes, it was close to our venue, but not necessarily worth the price. Plus, there was a convention going on that weekend, which meant they literally quadrupled the price of a room ($ 400 — $ 600). Fuhgeddaboutit.
So, the bf and I searched through Travelocity, Unilocal,Expedia, etc. to find a hotel that was somewhat close to our venue and that had a good price. I found all the Unilocal reviews for Residence Inn Downtown Long Beach (NOT the one called Residence Inn Long Beach). We decided to visit the place on a Sunday to at least scope it out and see if it would fit our needs. Although it meant that we’d have to drive over the bridge to get here, it wasn’t too difficult to get to. Parking is $ 17 a day, but the first 20 minutes is free.
We had a good first impression of the place. Very clean, very organized. Cute and modern lobby area. Outdoor fireplace, and outdoor swimming pool. Didn’t get the chance to check out the rooms, but Unilocal helped in that respect with Unilocalers’ pictures.
After our visit, bf (now hubby) went online to get an idea on how much a block of rooms would be. After the quote, I believe someone from the hotel contacted him, got more information, and we were set. Our guests could go to our wedding website, click on the hotel link, and reserve a room for the lower rate. Easy peasy.
Days before the wedding, we got emails from the hotel about how to get to the hotel, and emails confirming our reservation. I like that. Made me feel that they did have our reservation, and that there shouldn’t be any issues.
When we did arrive, check-​in was very quick and simple. The 20 minute loading was a bit of a joke, considering that I was getting dropped off with a carful of stuff. Fortunately, we improvised and I got the necessities so that the car left before our 20 minutes were up.
Bf (now hubby) was checking in the next day, where he was able to actually do an early check-​in (which we desperately needed) by calling early. So, yes, early check-​in is possible, but only if the number of rooms are permitting.
Everyone’s rooms were great. Very clean, and there wasn’t anything that we can pick on. Each room isn’t exactly the same, though. I actually had a shower door, while the bf’s room had a shower curtain. I had a real light in the bathroom, while his bathroom light produced light in the same velocity as a nightlight. It was kind of sad. Water pressure and speed of the water going hot was great!
Also, the cable would go out on the TV every so often. Made me think that the hotel room was possessed.
Full-​size fridge, which was SUPER-​helpful in storing food. The kitchen even has a hot plate if you want to cook something. Utensils and plateware were also available, and the dishwasher worked for us!
Breakfast was okay. Scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffles, fruit, cereal, etc. I mainly had the scrambled eggs and sausage patties with their salsa. Pretty good. They also have around 4 juices, as well as coffee and hot tea.
Eric, the morning supervisor was great. Apparently, one of our guests left their iPads in their room. Eric called me, I handed the hotel information to our guest, the guest called the hotel and spoke to Eric, and the iPad was packaged and sent on its way home. It’s now back in the hands of our guest. Eric also helped out my wedding vendors with their validated parking passes, which hubby and I greatly appreciated.
Only thing that was a little bit of a hiccup is that even though I didn’t have a car, they still charged me $ 17 per day parking. They quickly corrected it when I pointed it out, but I would’ve thought they would have something in the system to let them know if I had a parking pass programmed or not.
May use this place again if we have to :)
