It was time for a new bike. My old mountain bike gave out, and my road bike started becoming more and more uncomfortable with age. My lady parts must be getting more sensitive! My back definitely is.
There was a cute Paul Frank beach cruiser outside. It was on sale and seemed like a decent price. I was allowed to take it for a spin around the neighborhood, and by the time I came back, it was mine. We threw it in the back of the truck and now it’s my main ride — monkeys, basket, bell, and all!

Jones Bike shop repaired my flat tire in less than 20 minutes. The charge was reasonable and the customer service was professional.

I went in a few nights ago to pick up a few odds and ends for my new bike. Everyone there was great! Steven was helping me for the most part and he was incredibly patient, helpful and knowledgeable. I told him that I would like to compliment him to the manager, but I was pretty sure HE WAS the manager. And I was correct.
You can’t go wrong here — they’ve got it going on. And I will be back. Thank you, Steven!

They changed my bike basket, tightened my seat adjusted my handlebars and put a reflector on for me. I’m very happy :). Nice shop with a big selection and nice people working there. Thanks Jones!

Just bought my third bike from Jones. I wanted a Kona MTB and they had the best selection and smart people. Great service department!

This place is a very family friendly with a hint of steam punk. They have a plethora of bikes however if you come in with your own bike looking for pieces such as a new quill stem or axle nuts they won’t have it… Their tag line is «I ordered some so they should come in Wednesday.» What type of bike shop doesn’t have axle nuts?! However they did find 1 used one and gave it to me for free (super friendly) so great service; over priced accessories, nice bikes. If this sounds passive aggressive it kind of is. Just call ahead of time to see if they have what you need.

Came in here seriously looking to buy a bike. Walked around 15 min looking at bikes. Unsure exactly of what I wanted. No one came up and asked me if I needed help so I left. Missed out on a sale. Guess I’ll be buying online.

I had been searching high and low for a specific brand/​type of pannier that a local shop would carry. I placed my order online for in-​store pick-​up; the website stated processing time of 2 days. Four days later, I went to the store only to find out that my order had not arrived and someone had «dropped the ball.» Seven days later my order finally arrived, only to be disappointed again with a missing part for the pannier I ordered. I quickly email the shop, they responded but with no apology or empathy for this entire ordeal. In their email they stated that they submitted a request for a replacement piece.
Today, 3 weeks later, no follow-​up from the shop. I call and talk to Lisa and admits to «dropping the ball» again. At this point, I am very upset and angry that a very simple online order has dragged on for so long. And yet, the shop doesn’t understand why I am so upset.
This shop truly has no idea how to treat it’s customers, or understands what customer service should be like.
I highly recommend that you go elsewhere for your bicycle needs, a shop that has a higher Unilocal star rating for sure.

Really great customer service.
I came in literally 2 minutes before they closed, desperate for air in my tires. Not only did these fine gents fill up my tires but they noticed that my handle bars were out of whack and they adjusted them for free not only that but Stephen /​Steven (not sure how he spells it) and Darrell really went above and beyond and helped me get my huge beach cruiser back in my awkwardly shaped car. They really won me over.

Bought my road bike here years ago and had them modify it to be a fixed gear, they kept my brake and old handle bar system, hoping id forget it… which I did. So now I came into the shop to convert it back to it’s original free spool and brake system charging me a over a hundred dollars to replace equipment they never returned and the shop guy tried to keep my old equipment again!!! Totally lame they wouldn’t hand over the old but still totally useful parts back without having to ask. Not sure if the guys are being shady or just busy but they should return the customers equipment back to them. They got me once, but glad I remembered to ask for my stuff back. Again not sure if the dudes are being lame or just busy but be sure to request your equipment back because it is expensive to replace.

Came in to buy a bike & I felt very welcomed — the staff was informative & helpful — I found everything I needed and developed a wish list of future purchses.

This place is awesome. Great staff, great prices, great products. They’ll steer you clear of bad gear and keep you from wasting your money. I’ve bought 2 bikes and a board here in the past couple months, I will continue to shop here and recommend to everyone.

A very nice shop properly located in the heart of Belmont Shores. I love coming in here. You will see an over abundance of bikes, so packed in that it gets overwhelming. All the styles and brands can be found here. The loft is a nice touch with vintage looking bikes. People here are friendly and informative. When they have sales, they are hard to beat, but why do I need 2 bikes for the price of one? I need a mark down single bike, so I had to look elsewhere for a better price. Still like the store, but wished they offered more sales so I could come here instead.

My favorite bike shop. Excellent selection of products and designs. Awesome customer service. Very laid back and relaxed crew. Reasonable prices. Nothing to complain about here. It’s always a pleasure going there.

More tune ups to the bike reveled that my brakes were not installed, or even tighten to the bike correctly. Per the shop owner, «The moment you hit the brake the bike would have seized, and down you would have gone down.» I ride the Santa Ana River trail. If this would have occurred the rocks alone along the side would have killed me.
I was told most of the bike was not tight at all.
Cup holder, brake and front brakes, gears (gear shaft not aligned, gear seized), handlebar and front brakes. Don’t go to this shop… no one knows how to use an allen wrench!!!

I am not sure why there at so many bad reviews about this place. I went to about 5 – 6 bike shops before making my decision to buy at Jones.
Reason 1. I got a surprisingly screaming deal. I was worried because small shops tend to be a little more pricey than say, Performance Bikes.
Reason 2. The staff was awesome from day one. I went in with YouTube only knowledge about Road Bikes but left feeling very confident and educated on my new purchase. I came in and out about 3 – 4 times before I made my decision. I never felt as though I was an inconvenience, like the other shops made me feel.
They didn’t let me ride out until getting me 100% fitted and safe. I believe it was the manager or the owner that came from the back and was more enthusiastic than me.
You can tell they hv real passion do cycling and I am happy I supported a local business that’s so close to my home. They treated me like family.

Went in today and was promptly greeted by multiple staff members and asked if I needed help. Sure, I need help, but not the kind I think they were offering. I finally settled on a gent named Jacob, and told him exactly what bike I wanted. He didn’t try to up sell me a more expensive bike, just let me settle on my ghetto little cruiser from the dollar rack outside. He was very helpful and answered my plethora of ridikkulus questions. Helped me pick out a couple of extras without being overbearing and kept a smile on that cute little mug of his. Two other dudes helped me out when I picked up my bike after the free installation of my upgrades. Dude A with a big olé beard, and Dude B, with a bunch of wicked cool tats. Champion men, for sure.
If I ever need another bike, or more upgrades, or a super rad cell phone holder that mounts to my handle bars I will definitely be back.

I can only imagine that most of these reviews were written about previous staff because the customer service I got at this shop was phenomenal.
When I walked in I was greeted professionally and asked what my needs were, and on the spot one of the staff members who is into road bikes helped me look through their lines of Felt and Jamis bikes. They have a good amount of models and sizes in stock, and the staff was very attentive in explaining what the benefits and differences between each model were. They are friendly and helpful without hovering.
I test rode several bikes, and they patiently asked what I liked or disliked about each one to help me find the perfect bike that would fit my needs, size, and budget. I was not rushed, ignored, or pressured into buying anything.
My only qualm is that the area around the shop is not exactly ideal for test riding bikes. The roads behind the shop are single one way lanes with tons of blind spots, and the roads (residential) are not well kept. It’s probably okay for slow cushy beach cruisers, but not ideal for the speeds road bikes should be tested at. That is hardly the shop’s fault though.
On my quest for the perfect road bike, Jones has been the most helpful with great customer service. Definitely worth checking out!

Purchase: 2014 Felt Café 7 Women’s Bike, helmet, lights, basket, lock.
Pros: 1) Quick email response. Many businesses take awhile to respond to email inquiries, but I was quite pleased by the response rate at Jones. The longest time lapse between one of my emails to the response during business hours was a little over two hours. (Not shabby at all!) Some emails were answered within 20 minutes! 2) Steven, who responded to my emails and helped me out in person the day I bought my bike, is PHENOMENAL. He is very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions patiently. He is honest when responding, which is refreshing because it’s evident that he cares about quality and safety. Even when it got busy, he never rushed me through; I didn’t mind him ringing up other customers because he came right back to me to pick up where we left off with my endless stream of questions. 3) The staff are all friendly and you can tell that they love working with bikes. They also have very funky, eclectic taste in music, which I enjoyed a lot. 4) I rode my bike home along the Long Beach Shoreline path, whose entry point is just a few minutes away from Jones. SO CONVENIENT! Another very convenient aspect of their location– there are plenty of smaller, quieter side streets behind Jones to peacefully take test rides. No stress having to test ride on 2^nd Street!
Cons: 1) It can be difficult to talk to an associate if the store is busy.
Summary: I was genuinely thrilled and satisfied with the entire process from test-​riding the bikes right down to riding my Felt bike out the door. I support independent businesses and enthusiastically endorse Jones Bicycles.
