What a wonderful(relatively new) tucked away little secret in downtown Long Beach! The rooftop is Absolutely on point! The menu(the OMG Macn’Cheese and Buffalo Cauliflower), the service(thank you Tom and Scott, you were the best), and the energy! Great vibe, relaxed, games, ping pong table(Wha??!). Everyone was so friendly. Great spot for an event; personal or business. Thanks for sitting and chatting with us Liam! I don’t know many places where the manager sits and is so personable or willing to have a lengthy conversation. You should be the model for all! Get to the restaurant, you will not be disappointed!

Went here for a friend’s birthday, as a party of 15. We had a reservation for 8:30pm and it took a little for us to get seated because the restaurant was waiting for a previous party to be done before we could be seated. But the staff were all super nice, so it was really no big deal. The ambience was pretty nice. It was pretty dim inside, with lights throughout the restaurant that gave an interesting effect. Our glasses were a mason jars which was pretty cool. Overall food and drinks were decent. The Brussels sprouts were really good(our waiter recommended it as their specialty) and I had duck breast as my main entrée. It had great flavors and was cooked well. Portions are on the smaller side for the price. Service staff were all really nice. It took a long time for our food to come out but not sure because service was slow or because our party was big. After dinner, we were able to go up to the roof bar where it was a completely different environment. As opposed to the calming environment of the restaurant floor, the bar was loud and exciting. Since we ate at the restaurant, we were given access to go up to the roof bar without having to wait in line outside. There was a super long line outside to get to the bar when we were taken up. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Food was pricey in general but decent. Environment is definitely unique and it served well for our birthday dinner.

This is the place to be downtown Long Beach! Michelle and her team consistently deliver top notch service, and the menu is 5 Star! The roof top is perfect to hang out with your friends, enjoy the weather, the view, the beer, and the tasty pub creations… while downstairs, prepare for a treat… cool vibe plus amazing eats! Bo-beau is also involved in our community, hosting many fundraisers throughout the year to support local non-profits.

Yesterday I came here for the first time for the roof top party and I will definitely never come here again. It was one the worst experiences dealing with bad customer service of my life. Walking in the place was overbearing crowded, no where to sit but I still decided to vibe with music and order some drinks. Only after a couple minutes, I went to the restroom which had the sinks on the outside of the restroom. As I’m fixing my hair by the sinks I see the tall white bald security guard follow shortly after into the sink area. I felt that was awkward but I didn’t think twice about it, thinking he’s only doing his job. Finally, my girlfriend and I find a table. The waiter took forever to come serve us, once he did, we already went to the bar ourselves to order our drinks. He didn’t inform us that it was happy hour. He just slapped a menu on the table and only check on us once more. I waved him down a couple times to where he completely ignored us. He was the tall slim bald white guy possibly mid age. I wouldn’t recommend his customer service to humanity or even know why he still has his job. His services could of been racially motivated because we were the only black and mexican couple at this restaurant that is obviously predominantly white. Oh and let me not forget about the same security guard stalking my girlfriend and I majority of our stay there. I had only three drinks and couldn’t take anymore discrimination.

I came here recently came here to have some drinks and do the«paint night party». I was really pleased with the selection of alcohol and the appetizers they have there. The whole restaurant is super cute and I really really like the entrance with all the plants hanging. The restaurant has a very open vibe even though there are two stories. MUSTORDERTHEBRUSSELSSPROUTS. Honestly I would come back for 7 orders of these every day. They were so amazing ! Their servers are all so nice and so happy to help along with the ordering process and are very understanding when it takes some people a bit longer to order(sorry I was not sure what I wanted! lol) Can’t wait to come back !

My fiancé and I were in town for just one night and picked this restaurant because of the good reviews and French inspired food. Service here was great! I requested on Open Table a booth and they were able to accommodate us. I made a note that we like to sit next to each other in the reservation and the waitress commented on it when she saw us. Impressive attention to detail! The ambiance in the main restaurant is very romantic, great for dates. We checked out the rooftop bar as well, but didn’t stay long. It definitely has a different vibe. Although the bar and restaurant have different menus, the waitress allowed us to order off both menus. The food tasted great! As many have said, the brussel sprouts are a must! We also had the duck and the poutine. Everything tasted great and was served quickly. Would definitely go back again if we’re ever in Long Beach

Great spot in downtown Long Beach! The comfy patio seating was the first sign that this place uses its prime Pine street location well. I was here for lunch on a Saturday, which meant I only enjoyed the upstairs area, but downstairs looked modern and sleek with some cozy touches. The Brussels sprouts are as good as they claim. Get a sprout with the bacon, Parmesan, and balsamic all together and you’ve got the best version of this dish that you may have had in awhile. The craft beer selection is fantastic, especially since it’s a rare treat for me to enjoy the Mother Earth vanilla cream ale in an establishment that’s not also a brewery. The flatbread was also delicious! This is easily shared between two and was a nice addition to the table. Our service hit the mark as well — friendly, prompt, and rarely had to ask for anything more than once. They were hosting one of those paint ‘n drink parties for a birthday while we were there and the crowd was far from obnoxious. Solid points for a good crowd in a sports bar-feeling place! I’m told that Saturday night is aside rent scene altogether, but as a spot to enjoy a lovely Long Beach day — I’m definitely a fan.

Cool spot! We arrived around 1pm and only the roof bar was open and at this time of day you head up and seat yourself. Very lovely at the top but no problem finding a seat and getting service. The bartender and our server were very friendly. We selected bar seats that were facing out onto Pine St. It was fun to watch people ride by on bikes and get a little bit of that sea breeze. The menu is a bit more limited on the roof. We asked our server what she recommended and we went with her suggestion: fried Brussels with pancetta, shaved parm(I don’t want it is about shaved Parmesan but I would leave my husband for the right shaved Parmesan), and a balsamic glaze. So sexy! I have never had Brussels fried and it was was such a great preparation! Crispy leaves mixed with heads with a crispy shell and soft center made for a happy Kaitlan indeed. Even if I am burping them up as I type this review. One complaint: hit a girl with a little more of that pancetta. It was like winning the lottery when we found a sweet little chunk of the salty goodness. They weren’t quite enough to sate the Hub so we ordered the Bavarian pretzel. It was sexily enormous with baby servings of beer cheese and mustard. Great mustard and good beer cheese. For alcohol, they have a respectable craft brew selection widely repping the great state of California. I did an SF lager and then a German Pilsner while the hub partook in a flight of bartender-selected IPAs. I’d go back to try the dinner menu.

So my friend and I came here for Paint Nite. We decided to each here before the event started and my friend treated me to my birthday dinner here. Lets talk about the parking, the parking here isn’t great. Its downtown long beach so the parking is structures and you need to pay. The restaurant offers valet parking and I would think valet is better then parking in the structures because at night here it doesn’t feel safe. When I got here, I noticed the bottom restaurant was pretty dead. I think cause it was early and a Monday night. My friend and I ordered 3 things. Appetizer was the Brussel sprouts and let me tell you, that sauce was SUPERGOOD! I swear I don’t know what sauce they use but its super yummy! They fry the sprouts and put sauce on it. I think that’s my favorite there so far. So good and a good portion for the price. We also ordered the chicken and duck for main dishes. The chicken was good and I liked how it falls off the bones. The duck wasn’t as fat as I thought it would be. I thought it would have a lot of fat on it but it doesn’t so that was tasty too. So the food here was good. So after dinner we went upstairs to the bar area for paint nite. I really like the setup for this bar rooftop. Its pretty nice and very open spaced I felt. The paint nite was OK(I think the person teaching us wasn’t that great), but I really liked the service here. They are on top with their service and would always ask my friend and I if we needed anything. Overall, I would come back here for a night out for good food and drinks with friends. Paint Nite I would consider a different artist. I give this place a 5 stars for the food and service. Paint Nite would have been a 3.5 stars.

My review will strictly be on what I ordered: Brussels Sprouts: GOODLORD. Just when you think you love brussels sprouts, this just sends you overboard. The idea that these are pretty much DEEPFRIED gets every little nook and cranny all charred and delicious. The parmesan lends that beautiful salty and umami note along with the pancetta, which balances out the sweetness of the port-balsamic reduction. If I had one request, it would be to pick off the brussels sprouts leaves individually and then fry them up. Rooftap Burger: My goodness. I am a huge fan of all-natural and grass fed beef and I am so glad to see it served in their burger. Ordered it medium and while it came out more towards well-done, it was still such a juicy and flavorful burger. The beef really stood out and was well-seasoned. I love lettuce and tomatoes, but I personally think the burger could’ve easily gone without them. The bun had just the right amount of chew and held the burger together well. I added a fried egg because I mean come on… need I say more? Poutine: I was bummed out their version did not have cheese curds on it, but the truffle cheese sauce made up for it. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of that iconic short rib flavor. I love their style of their fries because it held up well against all the wetness of the cheese and beef. The fries were so thin and crisp on the exterior and super fluffy on the inside… mmmm fries. OVERALL: I also ordered a flight of beer off of their AMAZING beer selection on tap. The ambience is GREAT and it looks like I will be coming back over and over and over again. Like I always say, YOUWON’T KNOWUNLESSYOUTRYITFORYOURSELF!

2 stars are for the upstairs bar and craft cocktails… that’s about it. I went once before and came back because I thought I remembered a great dining experience but unfortunately my memory failed me on this one. Now don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere is hip and the upstairs bar area is trendy… if you like the pretentious kind of thing, but I will focus on the food. The positive things I can say are that the fried Brussel sprouts and craft cocktails(Thyme Nuit) are tasty and worth the price. After that… I’m not feeling it. I understand this is supposed to be a «trendy-French-ish» restaurant but the portions are NOT worth the price they are charging. I ordered Steak Frites($ 28) and literally out came a skinny strip of meat with a huge mound of skinny fries; no salad, no sides. $ 28 for a plate of 90% fries? Are you kidding me? F*ck, what a rip-off!!! Then another guest ordered seared scallops($ 26.50). Out came 4 «quarter-sized» scallops and a tiny decoration of cauliflower. FFFFF*******what’s up with that? FAIL

Came here for a late dinner with a friend. We ordered a lot of food to share. The burger, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, beet salad and she got a glass of champaign. Burger: greasy and tasty. I was satisfied Cauliflower: buffalo sauce and blue cheese. Buffalo sauce was easy. Didn’t over power the cauliflower. This was nice. Beet Salad: tasty and tart. Good Brussels sprouts: toasted to a crisp, nearly if not burnt. Not my style. They were my least favorite item that we ordered. Good seasoning and sauce on it though. I like my Brussels sprout, not to steady or burnt so heavily. Basically this food is nicer bar food. Average prices for a nicer place. If come back for the music and kickass bartenders and staff. They were all fantastic, that we interacted with.

Big fan of this late night hot spot in downtown long beach. It had great drinks and amazing service and the atmosphere was fun! We were in town for work and this was a great place to sit back and relax. The picnic tables and the close by dance floors made for an interesting set up. My favorite parts; amazing music! Lots of new music as well as the hot hits from the 90s. Additionally? The bathroom looked just like the bathroom from Harry Potters Chamber of Secrets — super neat! The sidecar was my preferred drink! And all the food looked amazing, sadly we didn’t try any. Next time!

Such fun place for eating and drinking, downstairs restaurant and bar, kitchen opens till late, so we were still able to order some food towards to midnight. Hubby had a Moet champagne, I had a Moscow mule to start, they were very tasty. We decided on some apps to share, out of shell escargots were fresh but a bit too salty and oily. Brandade De Morue– whipped salt-cod gratin spread was so delicious, very good with crostini. Hubby had an entire homemade sausage flatbread to himself, he was really hungry that night for some reason, he loved that flatbread obviously! Had our usual martinis to finish the late night meal, they were very strong and tasty! The food items here are tapa style, everything is small portioned, that goes for entrees too, better order flatbread as filler. Or just don’t come here hungry much, have drinks and snack food only! Our server was very attentive and friendly, we stayed until the restaurant closing time, he told us to check out the roof tap lounge and we did. Roof tap lounge was all packed on a Saturday night, DJ spinning, some old school songs mostly, didn’t like it. Drinks were strong and inexpensive, lots of seatings available throughout the place. Lounge was OK, we didn’t stay long though, it was raining and cold, so I wanted to leave. I liked the downstairs restaurant a lot, it’s very chill and relaxing, will definitely come back for more food and drinks! As for the roof tap lounge? Not so much, just not my type of lounge. Ps. Restrooms are unisex at roof tap, hated that!

Guys, upstairs is where it’s poppin’. My friend and I tried to go upstairs one other time but failed since it was jam packed but we were able to go yesterday and it was so much fun! I loved the fact that the restaurant is downstairs and has a welcoming, warm ambience. Very chic and I think this would be a perfect dinner date spot. Apparently my friend had made reservations for us so we didn’t have to wait too long but according to the host, it’s highly recommended. I can see this place fill up quickly because it’s a great spot to just eat and chill afterwards. Once we sat down, we ended up ordering the famous Brussels sprouts and a dish the waiter recommended. I think it was duck breast with flavored rice and steamed bok choy. I didn’t care so much for the entrée but the Brussels sprouts were crispy and seasoned perfectly with balsamic and Parmesan cheese! Oh sooo good now that I’m looking back at it. Highly recommended. Afterwards we headed upstairs and it seemed so chill. Rooftop bar vibe with good music to dance to. There’s a dance floor near the DJ towards the back and lots of open space and tables to sit around. People are really cool here too. You get good vibes here cause of how casual it feels and the people it attracts. Can’t wait to go back. As far as parking, there’s a ton of parking structures. Luckily we found street parking as soon as we got there so hopefully you’ll get as lucky as were! :)

Bo Beau, has blossomed into a beauty. In two years, Spring of 2014, it has become a favorite dining spot, and the best dining option on Pine Avenue. From its playful chalk panels by artist Nikolaj Wysznski, to its extensive metalwork, and from its large-scale vodka and beer selections to its pomme frites — it’s heightened enjoyment. A beauty reminiscent of an early 20th Century, semi-industrial era but with rich-fabrics and soft-lighting, that help to create a semi-palatial refinement. Its festive, French inspired, and fabulous. The food is fanatical fare, referencing the main dining downstairs. From Coq au vin to crisp brussels sprouts, and just-pulled from-the-ocean mussels to flappingly fresh Branzino. The techniques of poaching, steaming, pan-roasting, and grilling are perfected here. Try their Sriracha-Infused chicken wings! It’s the perfected attention to details, and customer satisfaction by Managers, Michelle, Enrique, Liam, and Christopher. As it is the cheerfulness meets confidence, in the service of Eduardo, and host Nick. A warmhearted welcome and pleasant dining experience. Bo Beau is beautiful and foremost. Fun, sights-to-be-seen, continue up and out, to the open-air Roof-Tap. Try their banana crème brûlée — or the sinfully smooth mènage-à-trois. Bar Manager, Taylor is a masterful mixologist. He brings another meaning to sinfully smooth — as in his pours.

As part of the Cohn Restaurant group, I expected above average quality(food, service, value), and I got it! Four of us enjoyed our Brussel sprouts(prepared 2 different ways), and our fish and scallop mains. One dessert to share and good variety of wines by the glass, from Matt who provided good service, and we were happy campers! I would return for another meal here, without any question.

Super cute & a tad fancy but casual. Came here for happy hour 4:30 — 6:30 pm with a couple friends. $ 3 off beers, reduced prices on appetizers and wine also. They have a pretty long list of beers, I chose one off their sour beer category. It’s so pretty inside. INTERIOR: Kinda dark inside but with dim lighting. Has Xmas lights wrapped around the rails of stairs leading to the second floor. The second floor has seats that allow you to view the streets/buildings of dtlb. Also has plenty of seats park style wooden tables. SERVICE: Awesome. I loved our server. She’s rare few you get as a friendly and happy server. Came to check up on us frequently and also helpful when it came to choosing things off the menu. FOOD: My friends and I basically ordered close to everything off their happy hour menu because everyone wanted something different. But I love it when I can just sample a little bit of everything. The Brussel sprouts are delicious. Even my friend that doesn’t like Brussel sprouts liked it. It’s crispy and slightly burnt on the outside and moist and warm towards the core. The pretzel is HUGE, but doesn’t beat The Congregation’s pretzels nearby. The siracha wings comes with around six pieces which was moist and juicy and nothing too spicy but the dip it comes with is a little funky. It’s some sort of buttery white sauce, I personally didn’t like it much. The fries are soft on the inside and slightly crispy outside but mostly soft. To be honest I was so into the Brussel sprouts I didn’t pay much attention to anything else. PARKING: There’s a lot a couple blocks down west past the restaurant I think on 4th that you can park at free first two hours.(This is why long beach is better than LA lol) but you can also find street parking with meters everywhere.

This is a solid place in DT Long Beach to hang out with friends and have some good food and beers. Came here on a Friday night with two friends and headed straight to the roof top bar. The atmosphere was great. Lots of people on dates, eating with friends and some loud music. We stopped during dinner time, so we got the P&B sandwich, Mac n cheese and the Poutine fries. They were all great! My friend loved the P&B sandwich which I had a bite of it and it was really solid. Not my personal choice for dinner, but if you’re craving something sweet, go for it. The Poutine fries were so good! Loved everything about them and highly recommend getting those. Lastly, the Mac n Cheese was good too but nothing to rave about. Wish it had a bit more flavor but I still enjoyed it. The also have a pretty extensive beer selections. I think the guy said they have 90 beers on tap? Don’t quote me on that. Overall, I really liked coming here. There is so much more on the menu that I want to try, so I’ll be coming back very soon!
