History

Established in 1959.

Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel is part of South Suburban Parks and Recreation formed in 1959 for the purpose of providing recreational facilities and services for residents. In 1959, approximately 45,000 people lived within the boundaries. Now, the population totals more than 140,000 residents. The 57-​square-​mile area includes the cities of Bow Mar, Columbine Valley, Littleton, Sheridan, Lone Tree, half of the new City of Centennial, and unincorporated portions of Douglas, Jefferson and Arapahoe counties west of I-​25. The mission of South Suburban is to contribute to full and meaningful lives of residents by providing a variety of leisure services and improving the quality of life through stewardship of the environment, parks, trails and open space.

Manager

Ed is the 1st Assistant Golf Professional at Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel. He acquired his PGA Membership in 1998 and is beginning his 20th season with the South Suburban Parks and Recreation Golf Department. Ed started his career with the South Suburban at the South Suburban Golf Course and then was transferred to Centennial Golf and Tennis, which is now named Littleton Golf and Tennis Club.

Excellent staff, helpful before you ask. Beautiful golf course views from the private balcony! Stayed here for my nieces 18th Green nuptials … Great job! I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast and lunch at the Grille was excellent.

I think 3 stars is about right. The hotel is a bit antiquated. The pillows are cheap old foam. The price was right. About 125 for the night and it included free breakfast. The staff it’s courteous but not really hotel staff. I was excited to see the eggs Benedict on the menu. Unfortunately the eggs were hard and the plate untouched has sat in front of me for 5 minutes while the waitress attends to the 2 only other tables that have left. If you’re not really picky and expect 3 stars you’ll be good.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night after being «walked» by another hotel. This hotel was great it is older however it is very well maintained and the rooms were large. The room had a great balcony to sit on. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Would defiantly book here if back in the area

I’m visiting from Fort Lauderdale and wanted a mountain golf experience. I very much enjoyed this course. It is beautiful and scenic and lots of elevation changes. Quite a change from South Florida.
The course was tough but not overly challenging. I played the blue tees and it was not too long at all. Conditions were pristine as well.
However, I’ve never played faster greens before. Holy s#*t!!! They were very slick. I hit a bunch of good putts that just didn’t stop rolling out. Lots of undulations too. I had 35 putts! That’s a lot for me. Would have been a low 80’s round if I putted better.
Overall, I’d love to play here again. It’s worth the higher price tag.

I have never stayed at the hotel, this is definitely a review on the golf course. The golf course is very picturesque and it is challenging, no doubt. Nonetheless, for the amount of money that people pay to play here, there are a few things that are just bad.
1) The driving range is very small. If you get a busy day and don’t get lucky, you can wait for a long time before getting on the range. They are a popular course and need more space on the driving range.
2) Greens were absurdly fast and hard. And this is made even worse by the fact that we’ve been having thunderstorms and rain pretty much every day the past few weeks. How they were allowed to be this hard and dry speaks to poor maintenance.
3) Pace of play not really enforced. We had to call the pro shop from the course to get a marshall on the course to get the group in front of us to keep up with the pace.
4) There were far too many ground under repair areas and places on the fairway with a lot of dirty showing in many stretches. This is supposed to be one of the nicest and best kept courses in the city, and it certainly did not live up to that to me.
5) Not a great course to walk, and as a guy who likes to walk courses, this is a major negative to me.
It is supposed to be a challenging course, but the condition it was in today was terrible.

I don’t post reviews ever but I had to after this. I took my 2 yr old son to hit some range balls on Memorial Day and he was denied to hit because he was wearing denim. Are you kidding me, since when did etiquette over take making a child happy. I have played here many times and live in the area and will never return because of that. Not worth the money, not worth the inconsideration.

I have never stayed at the hotel so this review is only based on the golfing experience. I would say this course evens out to 3 stars for me. Not exactly sure why they charge so much but after a BUY ONE GET ONE FREE coupon, my brother and I each paid $ 52 apiece! This course is nice, very challenging but it is not worth that type of money. The other item that is very irritating is that the 9th is right next to the driving range with NO DIVIDER. What that means is, if your drive drifts right at all, good luck finding your ball because there are dozens in the rough and even fairway on this hole! Pretty ridiculous if you ask me! I don’t plan on visiting this course again. It just doesn’t make sense for the money.

I stayed at the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel, south of Denver, for a recent conference. The hotel is small — maybe a dozen rooms, and many of them overlook the golf course.
The main building is primarily the club house for the golf course with a large pro shop, bar & grill, and several meeting rooms. Up a flight of stairs and through a privacy door is the hallway for the guest rooms. While it’s clunky to walk up the stairs with your luggage and then weed through the hallway and closed door, it does offer a lot of privacy and noise cancellation from the meeting rooms and tables of noisy golfers in the grill.
The guest rooms are large — each is a mini-​suite with a step-​down living room, work space, and bedroom area. Up on the top level is the bathroom, large dressing area, and a wet bar with a mini-​fridge, microwave, and coffee /​tea service. My room faced the golf course, and so I was able to make a mug of tea, and sit out on the balcony in the morning. I was able to enjoy my tea and answer some emails while watching the early morning golfers.
Our meeting the next morning was held in one of the hotel’s conference areas, and they set out a very nice Southwestern-​style buffet lunch for everyone. I thought the food was good, and the meeting facilities were very nice.
The town of Lone Tree, CO is about 45 min — 1 hour south of the airport, and this looks to be the locals’ golf course /​country club. The surrounding area has some very nice shopping malls and restaurants, and you’re not far from the Denver Tech Center.
This hotel is tucked back in to a residential area off the main Interstate, so there’s lots of peace and quiet.

Never stayed in the hotel, so this is just based on golf. You’ll either love or hate the course. Not really anywhere in between, I’m on the love side.
Pros:
–Course is in GREAT shape; looks like a country club
–Very challenging; you have to stay focussed or else you’ll implode on a hole
–Extremely quiet and peaceful; love how still it seems on some holes here
Cons:
–Overpriced! Although in good shape and challenging, this is not a $ 65 course for non-​residents
–Horrible to walk; I walk every round, and after I play here, I can hardly walk 10 feet without getting cramps in my feet
–Snakes :-(I hate the things, you’ll probably see at least 1 here, maybe even a rattler

So frustrating here! Went to eat at the restaurant on thur oct 20th around 3pm, was told they were open until 6pm. When we walked in there was only one table of a few ladies who looked almost done eating. We asked to sit on the patio and the waitress took our drink order. Over 15 minutes later we still had no drinks but she was doing side work. We closed our menu’s we even saw her come outside to stock cups and walk off. When I went inside she was rolling silverware. We waited 5 more minutes and walked out! How rediculous. She wasn’t busy, she wasn’t overwhelmed she could really just give a crap if anyone was gonna eat there! BOO! Not to mention the kitchen was blasting a radio station at mega high boom boom and it was blasting out on the patio. I like a little Alice in Chains too but commercials for 10 minutes?! Not my idea of a relaxing lunch overlooking the golf course. GEESH.
Not to mention this is supposed to be a highend place but it is soooo old and out dated. Get the board on some renovations and this place could have potential. Its a great location, beautiful golf course/​view, in a very rich neighborhood, has a little hotel, a little restaurant and shop. Too bad it looks like my grandma’s house back in 1981.

Staying here in the winter so this won’t be based on golfing.
It’s a quirky hotel with stairs everywhere and even in your rooms. I have a king size bed and a space larger than most studios back in Chicago!
The hotel is nice, but could use some updating — flat screens, remove the wallpaper, better lighting, etc…
All in all though its a nice place. The conference room is large, next to the golf course bar and pro shop and right behind where the driving range is; why didn’t I bring my clubs!
I have to come back to try out the links for a more thorough review. However in the mean time I say it’s A-​OK…
Oh and by the way — they aren’t closed or else I am in the twilight zone…
