History

Established in 1970.

In the beginning, Hillcrest managed many different property types including apartment complexes, shopping centers, as well as office buildings. However, condominium management soon became a reality and Joel Garson– President and Owner of Hillcrest Property Management, became a true pioneer to the industry. Over the years, Hillcrest began managing multiple associations and eventually decided to specialize in the management of associations only.

Over time, Hillcrest acquired other Property Management firms and grew from gaining a solid reputation in the industry as one of the premier association management companies, as well as one of the largest management companies in the Chicago area that exclusively specializes in managing community associations.

When condominium ownership began to grow, Joel became a pioneer in the industry by recognizing the need to provide property management services to the condominium and homeowner associations in Illinois. Joel is one of the few individuals in the Midwest to hold the distinction of a «Certified Manager of Community Associations» from the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers, as well as being a «Certified Property Manager» from the National Association of Realtors, and he also holds the title of «Certified Property Manager» from the National Association of Home Builders. Joel’s commitment to the growing condominium industry and his hands-​on approach has helped Hillcrest gain respect as one of the largest management companies in the Chicago area that specializes in managing community associations exclusively.
