Dentguy is Guy and my partner Dave. We are experts at the art of paintless dent removal (PDR), a process of removing small dents from the metal panels of a car without repainting it. If you are familiar with the process, you know it is a very tedious type of metal smithing which is more art than science. As with any art, the artist is the critical component.

There are many dent technicians who can improve the appearance of dents, but very few who can truly make them disappear. That’s our specialty. This drive for perfection has almost become an obsession for us. And realizing the value in preserving their car’s factory [or extremely expensive custom] finish, our clients have driven us to bring this level of perfection to much larger and more difficult to access dents.

History

Established in 1996.

I began my career in 1996 in Atlanta, one of the most competitive car markets in the country. I was fortunate enough to train under technicians whom, to this day, are the most talented and skilled practitioners of the trade anywhere in the industry. They shared with me not just advanced technique, but the broad possibilities of the service, and how to push those boundaries. I, in turn, was able to share this knowledge with Dave– a true prodigy– a few years later in Charlotte, NC in a two year apprenticeship. When I left Charlotte for San Diego ten years ago, Dave stayed behind and honed his skill to a master of the craft at a top-​ranked BMW and Mercedes Benz dealer. On the first of 2012 he moved with his family to Carlsbad to partner with me in carefully growing the business to better serve our clients’ needs.
